Planning to quit your job and start a start-up? You must be doing some real head banging over the most suited revenue models and gulped down all the books on entrepreneurial lessons. Yet, you are in a haze as where to start? But one often overlooks the simplest examples in life. We all grew up being lost in the fantasy world of Harry Potter and we all despised Lord Voldemort. But he is one of the most successful entrepreneurs ever. Here’s a list of lessons muggles can learn from this powerful wizard.

1. Created own Horcruxes- If people do not give you a support system, make it for yourself. His brilliant plan to divide his soul into seven parts defines perfectly the true meaning of not quitting. The orphan became one of the most brilliant student Hogwarts has ever had. One should even choose the Horcruxes well for one easy Horcrux and a part of your soul is dead. Innovate your own way to success.

2. Plan- He planned and he planned well. Since the age of eleven, he started preparing himself to rule the world. Starting from opening the Slytherine closed chamber and unleashing the power of terror to building horcruxes, one of the most difficult task in the world, he planned everything well. Plan your VC and term sheets very well.

3. True to your own self- Lord Voldemort never ever defied what he was, since his childhood. He knew he was a Slytherin and worked towards being a true one. And he was! Know your weaknesses and work on it by sharpening your strengths.

4. Find people who will be true to you till death- Lord Voldemort needed some ardent followers to rule the world for he knew though he was a brilliant wizard but he cannot accomplish the full task all by himself. One thing he made sure during his aggressive hiring process was that his clan remained always true to him and never ever backstabbed. From Lucius Malfoy to Bellatrix Lestrange, they all were so. Not everyone would share the same visions as your company.

5. Know your enemies well- From the death eaters to his most sworn enemy Harry Potter, he knew every hooks and crooks about them. He captured the Death Eaters, feared by all, and made the Dementors his slave. He knew his enemies Harry and Albus Dumbledore so well that he could precisely predict the next steps and the next spell that they are going to use! Yet, he never underestimated their powers.
