5 secrets to being happy

We live in a world where we are surrounded by innumerable options to make our life easier and more efficient. But numerous studies and articles on stress and depression make us wonder if life is infact happier now? Whether it is a high-paid job or a house in the neighbourhood, what you are really looking for is happiness. Here are five questions you should ask yourself to that will lead you to ‘your happy space’ in this world.

1. When are you sad?- When you’re down in the dumps, people would often ask you why you are sad. If you are contemplating now over this article, then you are probably one of those who have already done that and failed. So, ask at what time of the day you were sad. Find out what you were doing at that time and you will find the answer to the former question.

2. What makes you jealous- When one person looks at Mukesh Ambani, one will be jealous of his money while his talent will be a matter of envy for others. Think about what gets you the most jealous; because that's the thing you should focus on improving in your life.

3. What are you passionate about- If you like playing around with colours; turn it into your career. If you don’t want to take that risk, which you should, then take it up as your hobby. If you are giving excuses like you do not have time or you are not good at it, you are just being lazy.

4. What little things make you happiest- If fame is what you want to be happy, you won’t get it overnight. That does not mean you will keep cribbing about it for ten years. Instead focus on the little things that bring that slight smile on your lips. Try to be around those more often.

5. Are you trying too hard to be happy?- this is the secret to be happy; never ever try too hard to be happy. It will stress you out more than make you happy. Feeling a little low now and then is healthy. It means you are not self-centred and sadness around the world does affect you.
