Just about every single detail in this screenshot of "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt" is sharper and more detailed on PC than on the PlayStation 4. It's a much better looking game on PC.
The Xbox fares worse than the PS4. There are fewer details and the image is relatively blurry.
The grass, shadows, and lighting are all more detailed and realistic on PC than on PS4 here.
Facial details are sharper and more detailed on PC compared to PS4 throughout the entire screenshot.
The Xbox One makes facial details look comparatively blurry.
Here's "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3." The PS4 and Xbox One don't feature details in areas that you're less likely to see, like the floor. But it's the details that make the difference!
The PC version is clearer and sharper than the consoles. There's also a cloud of dust from the tumbling car on the left (out of shot) in the PC version, while the consoles wouldn't be able to render that cloud without dropping frame rates, slowing the game down.
The Xbox One is surprisingly blurry here, while the PC is clear and sharp.
The PC can keep more detail when the game moves quickly.
In "Star Wars: Battlefront," the PS4 does a decent job. But it still doesn't look as good as the PC version, which has more realistic lighting and sharper details, especially in the rocks.
It looks fine in the Xbox, but not as good as the PS4, and nowhere near as sharp and clear as the PC version.
It looks pretty close between the PC and PS4. The contrast might be a little bolder on the PS4, which may look better on the surface, but it means lost detail on the weapon. The PC screenshot looks more realistic.
Edges on the starship on the PS4 and Xbox One versions appear jagged, while they're smoother on the PC version. The PS4 is also overly dark and the Xbox One looks positively blurry.
Scenery in "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" is much nicer on the PC version. Every detail, from rocks to greenery is sharper and clearer.
The PS4 adds more color and deeper contrasts, which looks great and can look better than games on the PC. But the PC still shows finer details the PS4 doesn't that makes these scars appear that little bit more realist.
Look at the hand, the sign's edges, and the letters on the sign. It's not a huge difference and doesn't affect gameplay, but it shows how details on the PS4 are generally softer.
The water and this general area in "GTA V" looks excellent on both PS4 and PC. But the difference is in peripheral details, like the bushes on the other side of the river.
On the PS4 version, you can't see the finer details of the chain link fence's shadow on the ground in front of the car. It's minor, but small details like this go a long way in making a game look great.
And then there's the scenery. It looks almost real on the PC version. There's more detail on the ground on the bottom half of the screenshot, and the hills have bushes, too.
But at the end of the day all these games are just as fun to play on all three platforms.
