Cut to 2017, women are well-read, well-equipped and well-informed about the choices and are ruling the domain as far as home buying in concerned.
Having said that, there is a stark difference between men and women when it comes to buying a house.
“Women look for features including a functional and stylish functional kitchen, good sized bedrooms, plenty of cupboard space and a well equipped laundry. They also want to envisage the lifestyle they would be able to create in the home with their children,” said Rajeev Jain, Director, Nirmal Lifestyle.
Even builders and home sellers have become smart and know how to sell a house to women.
“Today’s women are millennials who are intolerant, optimistic and looking to be inspired. So the messaging to marketing a home to a women would be all about ‘thinking big’,” said Manju Yagnik, Vice Chairperson, Nahar Group.
Women in the age group of 18-34 are most active and involved in realty decisions as per the Indian survey.
