What would you get if you did a Google search for ‘Milind Soman young’? In the first 10 photos itself, you would see a happy Soman, smiling from behind his salt-and-pepper beard that he so easily carries. That’s young for you, as per Google.

He is going to be 50 in less than 6 months from now.

However, that certainly did not stop him from competing in and subsequently winning one of the toughest triathlons in the world. The triathlon, which is organised by World Triathalon Corporation, includes a 3.86 km swim, 180.25 km cycle ride, and 42.2 km run and has to be completed within the time frame of 17 hours. Soman completed the race in 15 hours and 19 minutes.

Oh, did we tell you that he is going to be 50 soon?

Here are 3 other times that Milind ‘Ironman’ Soman proved that he’s ageless!

1. When he debuted as an actor at 30
After years of being India’s first supermodel, he debuted as an actor at the age of 30. It was in A Mouthful Of Sky, the first English serial to be made in India, and was a breakthrough success at Doordarshan. The age when other actors start using creams to hide their wrinkles, this man came as a breath of fresh air in the television industry.

2. When he ‘restarted’ sports at the age of 40
When we say restart, it’s because Milind was the national swimming champion for 4 years at a stretch during his college years. However, he lost the competitive urge and gave it up. 16 years later, he took up running, and has been running barefoot ever since, citing that it’s only natural and shoes make you weak. He has completed several half- and full marathons, and has run from Delhi to Mumbai. He was 47 at that tome, beat that!

3. When he started Pinkathon at 47 years of age
At the age when all models and even some actors sit in their reclining chairs in their farm houses, this man went ahead and started an event to encourage women to run for good health. He named it ‘Pinkathon’ and it was a roaring success. It has taken place in more than 40 cities, including all the major metros of India.
