20-year-old Pacers big man Myles Turner turned back a monster dunk attempt with a jaw-dropping block

Indiana Pacers' forward/center Myles Turner is one of those under-the-radar young talents beloved in basketball circles but still largely unknown to the casual NBA fan.

Just 20 years old, Turner is the ideal big man in the modern NBA. He stands at 6-foot-11, shoots the three, passes well, and runs the floor. As he displayed on Tuesday night in a thunderous rejection of Tariq Black, he also knows a thing or two about protecting the rim.

Turner's block is an early contender for block of the season. As Black collects the ball off a pick-and-roll and rises for what he presumably imagines will be a posterizing dunk, Turner meets him at the rim (with perfect verticality, we might add), blocks the dunk, and keeps possession.

On the other end of the court (which this Vine does not show), Turner passes up a wide open three and gives the ball to teammate Monta Ellis, who buries it.

Turner is a name to know this season. The Pacers might not be great, but they will be fun. And Turner is a budding star.
