This year's pride parades were festive and colorful, but also tinged with sadness. Looming over Sunday's celebrations was the Orlando shooting. On June 12, Omar Mateen killed 49 people and left more than 50 injured in Pulse, a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.
Participants all around the country celebrated pride, but they also paid tribute to the dead. Some of them also made a point to protest government inaction on gun control.
As always, the parades were colorful and diverse.
