17 Items That Fast Food Chains Really Need To Bring Back
Retail3 min read

In the competitive fast food landscape, restaurants are constantly changing menu items.

A recent Reddit thread asked "What fast food items do you miss?"

We selected our favorite discontinued items.

1. Burger King's chicken tenders.

The classic chicken tenders were replaced with chicken nuggets closely resembling the McDonald's version earlier this year.

"I miss the toasty, lightly-peppered variety...not the bland crap they serve now," fumor writes.

2. Taco Bell's XXL Chalupa.

"Those were amazing. Like heaven," bobthecrusher writes of the supersized chalupas.

3. Wendy's salad bar.

"They had the BEST chocolate pudding," writes BoxMacLeod.

4. Burger King's Chicken Fries.

"Whoever took those off the menu needs to be fired," writes Ub3rpwnag.

5. KFC's original Chicken Little sandwich.

The modern version of the '80s sandwich isn't the same, fans insist.

"I loved the fact that in one bite you would get the biggest gush of mayo," writes m_alco. "I actually get my McChickens at McDonald's with no lettuce to try to emulate the Chicken Little. It is the closest thing I have had since the original."

6. Wendy's wraps.

The Chicken Caesar pita in the 90s was the "best thing ever," writes irg82.

The pita has a webpage dedicated to its return.

7. McDonald's Chicken Selects.

"Those were one of the very few items that is actually resembling food," writes Seanapa. "Getting them made fresh, and then dipping them in spicy buffalo was my favorite fast food."

8. Wendy's old french fries.

The fast food chain launched new "natural" french fries in 2010, but Roserie says she prefers the original.

9. Taco Bell's Bacon Club Chalupa.

"That chalupa is the reason I applied to Taco Bell as my first job in High School," writes TheGrimGopher.

10. McDonald's Pizza.

"They took it off the menu because it took 11 minutes to make and wasn't considered 'fast food,'" writes kstarr12. "I'd wait for it."

11. KFC Snackers.

"Makes me sad to think about it," writes joshduffy.

12. McDLT.

The sandwich came in a styrofoam container that had one side for the hot parts burger and bun and another side for the cold toppings - lettuce, tomato, cheese and pickles.

"I loved the hot and cool sides; the cheese, lettuce and tomato were so much better when they started out on the cool side, and not mashed into the hot burger," writes pbrooks19.

The sandwich was discontinued after the container was criticized for not being environmentally friendly.

13. Burger King's mozzarella sticks.

"They were cheaper than Arby's and fantastic," writes Vorpais.

14. McDonald's Angus Third Pounders.

"They were just enough burger for me," writes soup_to_go. "It was the perfectly portioned combo."

15. KFC Popcorn Chicken.

The discontinued bite-sized chicken came up several times throughout the thread.

16. McDonald's chicken fajitas.

"Only one dollar, where'd you go?" implores alpha_cuddle.

17. McDonald's Super Size.

"I still catch myself asking them to Super Size the order," writes jonflow.
