A 15-year-old girl asked Hillary Clinton at a Monday town hall about body image and how it relates to Donald Trump's comments on women.

"At my school, body image is a really big issue for girls my age," the girl said.

She continued: "I see with my own eyes the damage Donald Trump does when he talks about women and how they look. As the first female president, how would you undo some of that damage and help girls understand that they are so much more than just what they look like?"

Clinton responded to the question very enthusiastically. Her campaign has been targeting the Republican presidential nominee lately over his past comments on women and physical appearance.

"Thank you!" Clinton said. "I'm so proud of you for asking that question."

She then railed against Trump for taking concerns about body image "to a new level of difficulty and meanness."

"It's shocking when women are called names and judged ... solely on the basis of physical attributes," Clinton said. "So I think there's a couple of things we have to do and I am passionate about this too because we know that young women begin to get influenced at earlier and earlier ages by messages from the media. 'Forget your mind, forget your heart, care only about [how] you look because that's all we care about.' And we have to stand up against that."

Clinton also slammed Trump for his attacks on Alicia Machado, a former Miss Universe pageant winner whom Trump allegedly called "Miss Piggy" for her weight gain and "Miss Housekeeping," presumably because of her Latina heritage.

"My opponent insulted Miss Universe. I mean, how do you get more acclaimed than that?" Clinton said. "Well, it wasn't good enough. We can't take any of this seriously any more. We need to laugh at it. We need to refute it. We need to ignore it."

Clinton's campaign released an ad last week tackling Trump's comments on women. The ad shows clips of young women looking at themselves in mirrors and in phone cameras interspersed with clips of Trump making degrading comments about women.

The Republican presidential nominee is shown in the ad saying things like "She's a slob," "She ate like a pig," and "A person who is flat-chested is very hard to be a 10."
