Helen Mirren quickly established herself as an acting force to be reckoned with. She joined the Royal Shakespeare Company by age 20.
Mirren's illustrious film and TV career spans 50 years, impressive in any industry.
Mirren has played three British monarchs on-screen and is the only person to have portrayed both Queen Elizabeths. She won an Oscar as Elizabeth II in "The Queen (2006)."
She is one of 22 people (13 women) to win the triple crown of acting — which means winning a Tony, Emmy, and Academy Award. She's won four Emmys, one Oscar, and one Tony.

And even though she is a female equivalent of a knight, she'll still ride the subway and show proper etiquette.
Mirren also has a sense of humor, like when she kissed Stephen Colbert.
She also killed it hosting "Saturday Night Live" when she was 65.
She also knows how to politely insult people, like drunk drivers who are “shortsighted, utterly useless, oxygen-wasting human form of pollution."

"I love the fact that girls are so much more confident and outspoken than my generation were. We were sort of brought up to be polite and sometimes politeness, in certain circumstances, is not what’s required, you’ve got to have the courage to stand up for yourself occasionally when it’s needed.”
Mirren often criticizes sexism in the industry. In 2015, she called ageism "f---ing outrageous."
When not having children was (and still is) a taboo subject, Mirren doesn't shy away from the fact that she never wanted kids.
She jumps into action films with no problem, like the action-comedy "Red," where she starred as a retired assassin when she was 65. She reprised the role for "Red 2" when she was 67.
Anything Mirren wants to do, she can. She joked about joining "Fast and Furious" last year, and now, the 70-year-old actress is going to be in "Fast 8."
