At least one person is dead after Storm Angus - the first named storm of this season - reached England and Wales' southern coasts, bringing with it winds of more than 80 miles per hour.
A woman in Folkestone, Kent, was swept into the sea by high winds on Tuesday morning. She was airlifted to safety by coastguards, but later died in hospital.
Elsewhere, an elderly woman was found dead outside her home after the weather caused temperatures to drop severely in Scotland and Yorkshire.
