Trump is threatening tariffs on the EU

Here is what you need to know.

1. Trump's trade war is threatening the EU by slapping $4 billion worth of tariffs on meat, cheese, and other EU goods in retaliation for the union's subsidies to aircraft-manufacturer Airbus.

2. Hundreds of protesters yesterday stormed Hong Kong's legislature building, following weeks of protests in the city.

3. American farmers are hoping that Trump's trade deal talks with China will restart after U.S. pig farmers lost hundreds of millions of dollars in export sales to China and Mexico due to the dispute.

4. Oil Prices have dropped due to fears of demand falling have outweighed OPEC's decision to extend supply cuts till next March. A weakening global economy is said to be the cause of those fears.

5. The ongoing Brexit crisis is pushing the Scottish people towards backing independence from the UK, according to the country's leading polling expert.

6. Two people were possibly exposed to Sarin at Facebook, which was evacuated after the deadly chemical nerve agent was found in mail package at the tech giant on Monday.

7. Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world's biggest beer company, is seeking to raise as much as $9.8bn from public listings of a minority stake of it's Asia Business.

8. US stocks are set to slip on trade-war jitters. Futures on the S&P 500 and Nasdaq fell about 0.1%. The Euro Stoxx 50 was also down (-0.1%) as was Germany's DAX (-0.3%). Hong Kong's stocks jumped 1.5% on Tuesday, catching up with Monday's market optimism due to Trump and Xi's truce.

9. US total vehicle sales figures are out today, expected to be slightly down from the previous. API weekly crude oil stock is also out.

10. There's more earnings reports out later. Lighting and building management company Acuity Brands and food retailer Simply Good Foods are due to report.
