Good morning! This is the tech news you need to know this Friday.

  1. Cloudflare, the hot cloud networking platform, has filed to go public, and plans to list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker 'NET.' The company acknowledged that it has been hurt by "negative publicity" related to the use of the network by the 8chan online forum, which is known to have inspired the mass shootings in El Paso, Texas and Christchurch, New Zealand.
  2. Buzzy energy tech startup Faraday Grid raised $30 million from WeWork CEO Adam Neumann, then collapsed the same day WeWork filed to go public. A former senior insider told Business Insider about how the firm burned through $2.4 million a month amid a giant hiring spree and a US launch.
  3. In a memo that's circulating through Google, a former employee who recently decided to leave described the racism they felt as a black person working at the company. "I never stopped feeling the burden of being black at Google," they wrote in the memo.
  4. Huawei's highly anticipated foldable phone has been delayed yet again. The phone was believed to be launching in September, but a new report indicates that it isn't likely to launch before November.
  5. WeWork's S-1 filing shows that it is trying to present itself as a tech company, analysts say, because the document mentions the word "platform" 170 times. But they say WeWork's finances show it looks more like a real-estate company, which tend to incur higher costs from leasing and property.
  6. YouTube is being sued by LGBTQ content creators alleging the company discriminated against LGBTQ creators on the platform and restricted their reach and ability to make money. The class-action lawsuit accuses YouTube of unfairly applying its policies in a way that deems queer content as "shocking" and "sexually explicit" while letting hate speech thrive.
  7. Apple may name its next iPhones " iPhone 11," "iPhone 11 Pro," and "iPhone 11 Pro Max," according to a list posted by a case manufacturer. The French Apple blog iPhone Soft said it obtained a document from ESR, a company that makes protective cases for iPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones, which showed purported images of the new iPhones in their inventory with the names "iPhone 11," "iPhone 11 Pro," and "iPhone 11 Pro Max."
  8. Apple is suing mobile device virtualization firm Corellium for replicating iOS and Apple apps, according to MacRumors. Apple claims Corellium's iOS virtualization infringes its copyright.
  9. Viacom CEO Bob Bakish's power grab during the CBS merger has put some employees at ease, but Wall Street has major concerns about the leadership structure. Barclays analysts said the leadership structure could create internal strife, as it gives acting CBS CEO Joe Ianniello command of the robust CBS-branded assets.
  10. Facebook overhauled its group privacy settings and gave admins tools to scan rule-breaking posts in its war on toxic content. Facebook's private groups have been described as "unmoderated black boxes," where users are free to write toxic content.
