Good morning! Here's the tech news you need to know this Thursday.

1. Saudi Arabia has invested $3.5 billion (£2.4 billion) into Uber. The tech industry has reached the last stage of the "unicorn" boom.

2. Elon Musk thinks Apple started its secret car project too late. Musk, who is CEO of Tesla, said it is a "missed opportunity."

3. Mary Meeker thinks Apple is the past, and Amazon is the future. The American venture capitalist has released her big annual report on the state of the web.

4. Bloomberg is hiring ace Apple reporter Mark Gurman, Recode reports. Gurman, who previously worked at 9to5Mac, is well-known for his constant scoops about Apple products.

5. Intel CEO Brian Krzanich was going to hold a Donald Trump fundraiser but suddenly cancelled it. The Republican presidential nominee is not popular in Silicon Valley.

6. Twitter cofounder Evan Williams wanted Twitter to buy Medium, his publishing site, for $500 million (£346 million). In the end the struggling social network's board opted against it.

7. Cisco CEO Chuck Robbins has finally made the internal power move everyone was waiting for. Robbins has systematically been reorganising the company since he took over as CEO a year ago.

8. IBM's CEO has a perfect response to her critics. Ginni Rometty has been shrinking the company "by design."

9. Google's best Android phones are going to get better - but Google still won't make them itself. CEO Sundar Pichai spoke about the state of the company's mobile operating system.

10. Facebook will start scanning 10,000 posts a second to make comments less horrible. It is using AI to read users' comments and help aid navigation.
