  1. eBay is considering spinning off its popular payments arm, PayPal. The stock soared after the news broke.
  2. Former Paypal exec Keith Rabois thinks he has a better idea: rename eBay as Paypal. "Change the logos, change the paint, change the T-shirts, and you get the same value basically as spinning off PayPal," he says.
  3. Salesforce reported strong earnings yesterday. Revenue came in at $1.32 billion, a 38% increase from the same quarter last year. During the earnings call, Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff is spending $390 million on a three-year-old startup RelateIQ because two of his friends told him to. "Two [friends]...said, 'You really need to buy RelateIQ.' I said, 'Why?' They said, 'We use Salesforce but we use RelateIQ also. It's an incredible complement to your future,'" Benioff explained.
  4. Here's what self-driving cars could mean for the future of the beloved traffic light, which turned 100 this month. As soon as cars start communicating with each other, the green, red and yellow lights could become extinct.
  5. Walmart is now selling the iPhone 5s for dirt-cheap ($79), and it's nearly giving away the iPhone 5c ($0.97).
  6. Two new Apple patents show how iPhones could help us find our parked cars with little to no cell reception. The two patents are for "automatic identification of vehicle location" and "vehicle location in weak location signal scenarios."
  7. A source familiar with Apple's supply-chain process tells Reuters that there's an issue with the iPhone 6's screen production. The phone is expected to be announced in September.
