- Apple is talking to Comcast about doing a streaming video box. Apple wants Comcast to let Apple stream its channels through the Internet and it wants special priority for its traffic so it doesn't deliver a bad stream to users.
- "Silicon Valley has become one of the most ageist places in America." This story was passed around last night on Twitter, and talks about why Silicon Valley is hard for people over 35.
- Steve Ballmer says he's not sure how long he'll stay on Microsoft's board. He is the second biggest shareholder in the company, but now that he's not CEO, he's not sure what he'll want to do.
- New emails between Sergey Brin and Steve Jobs show how Apple and Google worked actively to not hire each others' employee.
- Apple's SVP of Marketing Phil Schiller took to Twitter to discredit Haunted Empire, the book that says Apple is in trouble. Schiller said he never owned a Lamborghini, which must have been a small detail in the book.
- Speaking of that, the author of Haunted Empire tells us that Jony Ive is much more controversial inside Apple than people outside Apple realize.
- Microsoft's $7.2 billion acquisition of Nokia is delayed until April. It seems like it's being held up by regulatory issues.
- Our own Jillian D'Onfro tested out the giant Samsung Galaxy Note III, and she loved it. She never wants to return to a small-screened phone.
- Nilay Patel, who co-founded The Verge, is moving to be managing editor of Vox.com, the new site from Ezra Klein. Reportedly there was some tension of Verge editor in chief Joshua Topolsky, and the job had changed for Patel at Verge, so he wanted something new.
- The hot new iPhone game is called 2048, and it's a game dedicated to sliding tiles around and doubling numbers.
