  1. Turkey threatened to ban Twitter then shut down access in most of the country. "We'll eradicate Twitter. I don't care what the international community says," Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan reportedly said. "Everyone will witness the power of the Turkish Republic." The plan has backfired spectacularly and residents are tweeting more now than ever.
  2. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings calls for net neutrality - the idea that ISPs can't block what consumers choose to see or do on the web - to be "defended and strengthened." He says he really didn't want to sign a deal with Comcast to ensure high-speed video streaming, and he worries what a lack of net neutrality will do to small businesses.
