But for those as seriously out of the loop as I was, if there is ever a time to catch up with the franchise, it's this week. Because when Marty McFly and Doc actually make it to the future in the second movie, it's on October 21, 2015.
So my Sunday movie marathon (I mean, you can't watch the second and not the first, right?) was dedicated to seeing the version of 2015 depicted in "Back to the Future II" and comparing it with what we are seeing today.
Screenplay writers Robert Zemeckis and Bob Gale definitely envisioned a more high-tech version of 2015 than what we are actually living today. But there were a few things that the creators were (eerily) spot-on about.
Here's a list of all the things "Back to the Future II" got right. And speaking as a Mets fan, here's hoping I don't have to edit this list to add the Cubs winning the World Series.
