Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani announced another round of freebies, while addressing employees and stakeholders. Ambani triggered another pricing war after he introduced the Reliance Jio ‘Happy New Year’ offer.

Under the new offer, Reliance Jio users will get free voice-calls, data, wi-fi, etc free of cost from Dec 04 to March 31, 2017. The existing Reliance Jio Welcome offer users will also be able to avail this new one.

While addressing the members, Ambani said Reliance Jio grew by leaps and bounds and even surpassed the growth of Facebook, WhatsApp and Skype.

“In 83 days, Jio has added 50 million customers on its 4G LTE all-IP wireless broadband network,” said Ambani.

Ambani said Jio will always be a customer-obsessed organisation. It is yet to see how top incumbent telecom operators react on this.
