10 New Holiday Inn Express Hotels Are Being Built In India

Intercontinental Hotel Group has signed a deal with a South Indian real estate developer, Brigade Group. Together they will build 10 new Holiday Inn Express properties in India. The Express set of hotels from IHG is reputed to supply budget rooms to travellers. This move will expand their portfolio in India to quite an extent.

The first two hotels will open in Bangalore by 2017. While the next set of Express hotels will come up at various other locations in the country in the next 4-7 years. IHG and Brigade Group at present are working together for the Holiday Inn Tidel Park in Chennai, which is scheduled to open at Old Madras Road in the second quarter of 2015.

IHG currently has 14 hotels in 9 cities and after this agreement the group plans to extend the number to a strong 57. Most of them will work under the brand of Holiday Inn or Holiday Inn Express hotels. A move like this should be considered as a positive step for the Indian economy. International budget hotels are making their way into India and this just tells us India is the next big destination for vacations and travel.
