Sri Lanka's Board of Investment has approved the two wind power plants of AdGreen Energy to be built in <keyword id="248936" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="mannar" source="Orion">Mannar</keyword> and Pooneryn at a total investment of USD 442 million. According to the statement released by the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka on Friday, it has issued a letter of approval to <keyword id="76451" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="adani" source="Orion">Adani</keyword> Green Energy Limited, for the two wind power plants. Also, the new project will generate 1,500-2,000 new employment opportunities. The wind power plant in Mannar will operate at a capacity of 250 megawatt (MW) while the wind power plant in Pooneryn will operate at a capacity of 100 MW. The Mumbai-based auto major said it would undertake proactive inspection and replacement of camshaft on a batch of 1,577 units of <keyword id="10703974" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="thar-diesel-variants">Thar diesel variants</keyword>, manufactured between September 7 and December 25, 2020. "A machine setting error at the supplier's plant, on specific dates, may have affected camshafts in some engines of the diesel Thar," M&amp;M said in a regulatory filing. Keeping with the company's stringent quality standards and exercising abundant caution, it has proactively engaged in this limited recall and offered inspection and subsequent rectification, <keyword id="6370553" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="free">free</keyword> of cost, the automaker noted. The company said the affected Thar customers will be individually contacted by the company. As an endeavour to ensure a hassle-free experience for its customers, the company is proactively carrying out this activity, it added. M&M recalls 1,577 units of Mahindra Thar to replace faulty engine part

New Delhi, Feb 13 () Adani Transmission Ltd (ATL) on Thursday reported a 32.53 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 203.67 crore during the quarter ended December, mainly on account of lower expenses. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 153.67 crore in the year-ago period, ATL said in a BSE filing. During October-December, the company's income remained almost flat at Rs 2,835.72 crore as compared with Rs 2,834.10 in the year-ago quarter. Total expenses were lower at Rs 2,477.75 crore as against Rs 2,656.66 crore in October-December 2018. During December quarter, ATL received a Letter of Intent (LoI) for a 400 Kv power transmission project in Maharashtra, the company said in a statement. The LoI to ATL was awarded under a tariff based competitive bidding model from Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (MSETCL). ATL also signed share purchase agreements with REC Transmission Projects Company Ltd in November 2019 for acquisition of its entire stake in Lakadia Banaskantha Transco Limited (LBTL) and Jam Khambhaliya Transco Limited (JKTL), the statement added. Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani said there is huge potential and growth opportunities in India's transmission sector in the coming years. The government's core focus is also towards the objective of 24x7 power for all. "Adani Transmission Limited with its widespread network and continuous growth looks forward to expand its business at large. RInfra owns 74% in PKTCL located in the state of Himachal Pradesh and Punjab in joint venture with the <keyword id="176911" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Power-Grid-Corporation-of-India-Limited">Power Grid Corporation of India Limited</keyword> (PGCIL). The deal was announced in November 2020 with the signing of a definitive binding agreement between RInfra and IndiGrid and has now been completed with transfer of shares of PKTCL, and receipt of sale consideration. Meanwhile, the power ministry is working on a secure management to prevent cyberattacks on the electricity grid. Domestic power equipment manufacturers have said it could also be a threat to national security as electricity distribution systems carry power to pipelines, water systems, telecommunications and other critical infrastructure, while also serving key government and military facilities.

State-owned <keyword id="77463" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="power-finance-corporation" source="Orion">Power Finance Corporation</keyword> has inked an initial pact with the <keyword id="6354766" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gujarat" source="Orion">Gujarat</keyword> government to provide comprehensive financial backing for the state's <keyword id="6380509" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="generation" source="Orion">generation</keyword>, <keyword id="67884" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="transmission" source="Orion">transmission</keyword>, and distribution projects. Power Finance Corporation (PFC) signed an <keyword id="6368586" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mou" source="Orion">MoU</keyword> with the government of Gujarat on January 3, 2024, according to a company statement issued on Wednesday. The MoU was signed by Parminder Chopra, CMD PFC and Jai Prakash Shivhare, MD (GUVNL) in the presence of Bhupendra Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat. The chief objective of this MoU is to provide comprehensive financial backing for the state's generation, transmission, and distribution projects. The MoU, signed in Gandhinagar, marks a significant step towards bolstering various projects undertaken by the Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Limited (GSECL), Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd (GETCO), Dakshin Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (DGVCL), Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (MGVCL), Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (PGVCL), and Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (UGVCL). The collaboration is set to facilitate long-term debt and other critical funding necessities vital for executing these diverse projects. Under the terms of the MoU, the envisaged financial assistance stands at an impressive Rs 25,000 crore, dedicated to powering up various projects across Gujarat, it stated. This substantial financial commitment underscores PFC's steadfast commitment to bolstering the power infrastructure in the region and supporting the state's ambitious initiatives in the power sector. Apart from facilitating the expansion of power infrastructure, the MoU shall also help create employment generation of up to 10,000 in Gujarat.
