The company's net profit increased 2.2% sequentially to ₹1,369 crore in October to December as compared to expectation of ₹1,454 crore consensus estimate of analysts tracked by <a href="https://www.bloombergquint.com/business/tech-mahindra-q3-results-profit-rises-22-but-misses-estimates-attrition-inches-up">Bloomberg</a>. While revenue is in line with expectations, weaker than expected margins and slower hiring is a concern, says analysts <a href="https://twitter.com/CNBCTV18Live/status/1488700416942829568">reportedly</a> at UBS investment banking firm. It also maintained a ‘sell’ rating on the stock with a target price of ₹1,260 per share. Adding to it, more employees are leaving Tech Mahindra than TCS and Wipro in an industry that is struggling with a high attrition rate. However, Tech Mahindra is not the only firm struggling with high attrition, every other IT firm is getting more resignations than ever before. More employees are leaving Infosys, Tech Mahindra than TCS and Wipro

Home-grown auto major <keyword id="6357096" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mahindra-Mahindra">Mahindra &amp; Mahindra</keyword> on Friday reported a standalone <keyword id="394539" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="profit-after-tax">profit-after-tax</keyword> (PAT) of ₹163 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2021, on the back of robust sales of passenger vehicles and tractors. The Mumbai-based company, along with its subsidiary in the automotive sector Mahindra Vehicular Manufacturers Ltd, had reported a net loss of ₹3,255 crore for the January-March quarter of 2019-20 fiscal. On a consolidated basis, its PAT from continuing operations for the January-March period of 2021 stood at ₹1,635 crore, against a net loss of ₹588 crore in the year-ago quarter. Its revenue on standalone basis rose to ₹13,338 crore during the period under review from ₹9,005 crore in the fourth quarter of FY20, <keyword id="46869" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="MM">M&amp;M</keyword> said in a statement. For the entire 2020-21 fiscal, the company posted a standalone PAT of ₹923 crore, up 25 per cent as compared with ₹740 crore in the 2019-20. Its standalone revenue during the last fiscal declined by 1 pc to ₹44,574 crore as against ₹44,866 crore in FY20. The consolidated revenue for January-March 2021 from operations stood at ₹21,456 crore as against ₹16,315 crore in the corresponding period of the last fiscal. For the entire 2020-21 fiscal, the company reported a consolidated PAT of ₹3,702 crore as compared with ₹2,713 crore in 2019-20. Its consolidated revenue from operations stood at ₹74,278 crore for the financial year 2020-21, as against ₹75,382 crore in 2019-20. The Mumbai-based automaker said overall demand for the company's passenger vehicle models remained robust in the fourth quarter of FY21. However, the global shortage of semiconductors impacted the production and sales for the quarter, it added. The company sold 1,06,333 units during the fourth quarter, up 18 per cent from 90,481 units in the fourth quarter of FY20. Total sales of PVs during the last fiscal however dropped by 26 per cent to 3,48,621 units, against 4,71,141 units in 2019-20. The automotive sector continued its focus on cost optimisation and reduced its fixed expenses by over ₹900 crore over the last two years and hence keeping its margin resilience even under challenging times, M&amp;M noted. The company sold 93,044 tractors duing the fourth quarter of 2021, as compared with 58,817 units in January-March period of FY20. In the entire last financial year, the company sold 3,51,431 tractors, up 18 per cent from 2,98,927 units in 2019-20. The company's board recommended a dividend of ₹875 (175 per cent) per share of the face value of ₹5 each for FY21. The company noted that its operating cash generated for FY21 rose by 119 per cent to ₹10,022 crore driven by improved profitability and robust working capital management. Mahindra & Mahindra clocks a standalone profit of ₹163 crore in Jan-March quarter on stronger sales of PVs and tractors

Constant currency growth of 3.9% in the quarter, while ahead of estimates, was significantly lower than peers. Margins came ahead of expectations while dealflow remained strong,” added the report. “We have witnessed an all rounded performance this quarter with growth across our key markets and industry sectors. We continue to see strong traction in large deal wins as we are helping our customers in integrated digital transformation,” said CP Gurnani, managing director and chief executive officer of Tech Mahindra. The company had posted a consolidated PAT of Rs 2,637 crore in the January-March quarter of the 2022-23 fiscal, <keyword id="19981454" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mm" source="keywords">M&amp;M</keyword> said in a regulatory filing. <keyword id="19945274" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="revenue" source="keywords">Revenue</keyword> increased to Rs 35,452 crore in the fourth quarter, registering a growth of 9 per cent, as compared to Rs 32,456 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, it added. For the year full year ended March 31, the company posted a consolidated <keyword id="19942166" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="net-profit" source="keywords">net profit</keyword> of Rs 11,269 crore as against Rs 9,025 crore in FY23, an increase of 25 per cent. Revenue rose 15 per cent to Rs 1,39,078 crore in the last fiscal as compared with Rs 1,21,362 crore in FY23. "It has been an excellent year with most of our businesses delivering a high level of performance. Mahindra Q4 net profit rises 4% to Rs 2,754 crore; Revenue at Rs 35,452 crore

Mumbai, <keyword id="6357096" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mahindra-Mahindra" source="Orion">Mahindra &amp; Mahindra</keyword> (M&amp;M) on Friday said its consolidated profit after tax grew 6 per cent to Rs 2,348 crore in September quarter 2023-24. The Mumbai-headquartered company had posted a PAT of Rs 2,209 crore in the July-September period of last fiscal, M&amp;M said in a statement. Revenue grew 15 per cent year-on-year to Rs 34,436 crore in the second quarter this fiscal, it added. The company said it witnessed robust performance across all businesses except Tech <keyword id="45224" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mahindra" source="Orion">Mahindra</keyword> which was impacted by weak demand and exits from non core accounts. "During second quarter, operating performance across auto, farm and services was robust. Auto rapidly grew to double its operating profit. Farm continues to be resilient despite tough market conditions," M&amp;M Managing Director &amp; CEO Anish Shah said in a regulatory filing. Tech Mahindra had a tough quarter, the company is now initiating the transformation journey in the business, he added. In the automotive sector, the company said its revenue grew 20 per cent year-on-year to Rs 18,869 crore in the September quarter. "We delivered yet another robust performance in this quarter. We have maintained our SUV revenue market share at 19.9 per cent while further improving our auto standalone PBIT margins," M&amp;M Executive Director &amp; CEO (Auto and Farm Sector) Rajesh Jejurikar said. In the tractor business, the company increased its market share by 150 basis points on the back of new launches of Oja, Swaraj Target and Naya Swaraj, he added. In volume terms, the company said it sold 2,12,078 vehicles in the quarter under review, as compared to 1,79,673 vehicles in the year-ago period, a growth of 18 per cent. Tractor sales were at 89,101 units in the quarter under review, as compared with 92,590 units in the same period a year ago, down 4 per cent. On a standalone basis, the company said its PAT grew by 67 per cent to Rs 3,452 crore in the second quarter as compared with Rs 2,068 crore in the same period last year. Shares of the company were trading 1.84 per cent down at Rs 1,524.60 apiece on the BSE.

Mahindra Q2 2023-24 PAT up 6% at Rs 2,348 cr

New Delhi, May 9 () Mahindra Holidays &amp; Resorts India Ltd on Saturday reported a consolidated loss after tax of Rs 161.51 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2020. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 52.35 crore in the same period a year ago, Mahindra Holidays &amp; Resorts India said in a regulatory filing. Revenue from operations in the fourth quarter stood at Rs 616.61 crore, as against Rs 634.59 crore in the year-ago period. Mahindra Holidays posts Rs 161.51 cr loss in Q4

<keyword id="6357585" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Tata-Consultancy-Services">Tata Consultancy Services</keyword> (<keyword id="6357150" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="TCS">TCS</keyword>) reported a 12.9% YoY growth in profits. Its Profit After Tax (PAT) for the first quarter of the current financial year is at Rs 5709 Crores. 
 
The company’s total revenue for Q1 is up by 16.1% YoY and 6.0% QoQ at Rs 25,668 Crores. 
 
The company margin reported at on ehigher than what analysts predicted. It is currently at 26.3%. Utilization came in 86.3%. And the company reported volume growth of 4.8%. 
 
Commenting on the results, TCS CEO N Chandrasekaran said, "Demand from core markets like North America &amp; greater traction for 'Digital' solutions has driven volumes &amp; growth in Q1." "We are investing to train over 100,000 professionals this year in all relevant technologies," he added. 
 
TCS has fuelled hopes in India’s IT earnings this quarter which is expected to be good for most except Tech Mahindra.

In terms of sectors, the highest allocation is to companies focussed on infrastructure construction. This may be a bet on government's willingness to spend more of taxpayers' money to boost economic growth. The zero weightage given to telecom may reflect the battered prospects of the sector amidst intense competition, piled up debt, and the imminent pressure of having to bid for 5G spectrum when the auction opens up in the coming weeks. Some stocks like ICICI Bank and Axis Bank are expected to more than double their profits in the next couple but that is largely due to the low-base effect in the last financial, which was marred by rising bad loans and provisions. The return to normalcy may look better when compared to the performance last year. The three IT stocks -- HCL Tech, Mphasis, and Tech Mahindra-- are expected to give the highest return on equity, above 20% each, according to the estimates in the model portfolio of stocks. These five stocks make up for half of Nomura's model portfolio

New Delhi, Feb 10 () Shares of Mahindra &amp; Mahindra (M&amp;M) on Monday dropped over 7 per cent after the company reported 73 per cent decline in consolidated net profit for December quarter 2019. The scrip tanked 7.16 per cent to close at Rs 528.05 on the BSE. During the trade, it tumbled 7.52 per cent to Rs 526. On the NSE, it fell 7.15 per cent to close at Rs 528.40. It was the worst hit among the front line companies on both BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty. Home-grown auto major Mahindra &amp; Mahindra on Saturday reported 73 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 380 crore for December quarter 2019 due to sluggish vehicle sales. The company had posted a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 1,396 crore for the same quarter last fiscal, M&amp;M said in a statement. Its revenue also moderated to Rs 12,120 crore in the latest quarter as against Rs 12,893 crore in the same period last fiscal, it said. Vehicle sales during the third quarter stood at 1,23,353 units as against 1,33,508 units in the same period last fiscal, a decline of 8 per cent, the company said. SUM SHWSHW

M&M shares drop over 7 pc as Q3 profit slumps

<ul><li>One of the top five IT services companies, <keyword id="43217" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tech-mahindra" source="Orion">Tech Mahindra</keyword> reported a 25% decline in net profit for April-June quarter.</li><li>The management attributed the decline in profitability to rising employee benefits costs, which includes promotions and salary hikes.</li><li>However, high spending towards retaining employees by giving hikes and promotions has paid off the firm’s attrition rate, which has come down to 22% from 24% last quarter.</li><li>Tech Mahindra’s attrition is still better than peers Infosys (28.4%) and TCS (23.3%).</li></ul>A fourth of Tech Mahindra’s first quarter revenues were eaten up by employee expenses, pushing its profits down by 25% on a sequential basis. The company’s CEO C P Gurnani says that this wage hike has reduced its attrition by 2% from last quarter, and predicts that it will reduce by another 4% in six months. But when asked for specifics, he said, “Attrition is as hard to predict as death,” at the post-earnings press conference. Its total income grew marginally by around 3% to ₹12,830 crore sequentially. Its constant currency revenue growth stood at 3.5%, the company said in its press release. “We are confident that we will be presenting to you continuously over the next few quarters industry leading growth. We are also confident that we will have an opportunity to work on the profitability levers,” said Gurnani. High spending towards retaining employees by giving hikes and promotions has aided as Tech Mahindra’s attrition rate has come down to 22% from 24% last quarter. If it’s able to keep up with its predictions, in the next two quarters, it could come down to 18%.
