"For the trend following traders now, 24,675-24,600 / 80,900-80,600 would act as a key support zones. As long as the market is trading above the same, the bullish texture is likely to continue. On the higher side, 25,000/81,600 could be the immediate hurdle for the bulls. Further upside may also continue which could lift the market up to 25,150/82,200. On the flip side, below 24,600/80,600 the sentiment could change. Below the same traders may prefer to exit out from the trading long positions. For day traders, buying on dips and sell on intraday rallies would be the ideal strategy", noted Chouhan.

"The domestic market experienced a late surge, driven by strong global trends that pointed to lower-than-expected <keyword id="21684772" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="US-consumer-inflation-figures" source="keywords">US consumer inflation figures</keyword>, which suggests at least two interest rate cuts in 2024," Geojit Financial Services Head of Research Vinod Nair said. The market is in a volatile phase due to uncertainty over global interest rate cut, geo-political tensions and sluggish growth in key economies, which is forcing investors to cash out of their investments at regular intervals,” said <keyword id="20226500" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="prashanth-tapse" source="keywords">Prashanth Tapse</keyword>, senior VP of research at Mehta Equities. Almost all sectoral indices closed in the red, led by banking stocks. Nifty Bank fell by 507 points and BSE Bank shed 607 points. Tech-heavy index Nasdaq is down by over 1.1% as of 4 pm, and the S&amp;P 500 is down by over 0.6%. "Continued selloff in global markets due to uncertainty over rate cuts impacted the domestic market sentiment, which is currently at an overbought level. The stronger than expected US nonfarm payroll data and caution ahead of the release of US inflation data tomorrow kept investors on the edge," said <keyword id="19969359" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="vinod-nair" source="keywords">Vinod Nair</keyword>, Head of Research, Geojit Financial Services. Gold prices hit a fresh new high on Friday and the bullion’s prices have been rising in the futures contracts too. Gold prices on Monday rose ₹73 to ₹66,096 per 10 grams in futures trade as speculators created fresh positions on a firm spot demand. “The broader market continued its underperformance due to valuation concerns, while investors are rebalancing their portfolios to include safe haven assets like gold,” said Nair. He added, "Technical analysis suggests that the Nifty's near-term uptrend remains positive, with support levels observed at 22,000 - 21,950 and resistance at 22,300". The market exhibited sustainable upside momentum on February 27, supported by bullish indicators and staying above the near-term moving average. In global markets, Asian stocks treaded cautiously on Wednesday ahead of a crucial U.S. inflation reading that could influence the Federal Reserve's monetary policy trajectory. "And this time, all festivals are in October..we expect about 5-10 per cent sales growth during the period as compared to last year," he added. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) again turned sellers on Tuesday as they offloaded equities worth Rs 1,457.96 crore, according to exchange data. Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) bought equities worth Rs 2,252.10 crore on Tuesday. Global oil benchmark Brent crude rose 0.28 per cent to USD 77.42 a barrel. At the same time, the research is going on. The aluminium, ironic oil, and different types of chemistry. Going further, Gadkari stated that India's EV market is expected to grow to one crore units of annual sales by 2030 and will create five crore jobs. Indian EV market has the potential to become Rs 20 lack crore by 2030. Gadkari asked the industry to focus on quality, better designs, and use the latest technology if they want to compete in the segment and boost exports. Consumers are now conscious of quality. The government is working on establishing a testing agency for better research and testing of vehicle manufacturing. CIIT Training Institute will be established in Pune with a sanctioned cost of Rs 450 crore. "Regarding the Testing Agency for Better Research and Development and Development world-class Testing Agency in CIIT Pune we have decided to start a new venture there with international standards and having all types of the facility which are available in the world and my department has sanctioned 450 Cor or that already DPR is in process and next three months we will try to start this project and that is to be very important for the industry where we will get maximum service and maximum to all the industry," he said. The Union Minister requested the automobile industry to support and cooperate with the government for India's scrappage policy. Gadkari asked the industry to promote and come up with better incentives for the scrappage of old vehicles. The vehicle manufacturers of the USA and Europe have increased their sales by 9 to 12 per cent by promoting scrappage policy. He also thanked the industry for the decision to provide a 3 percent discount for vehicle owners for scrapping their vehicles, adding that the cost of components can be reduced by 20-40 per cent due to the move. Gadkari urged the industry to establish their own scrappage centres. In his remarks, Gadkari said, "The automobile industry plays a pivotal role in realizing the Prime Minister's vision of transforming India into a 5 trillion-dollar economy and elevating it to the third largest economy globally. Our ambition is to extend it as the number one auto manufacturing industry worldwide. As we target a carbon-neutral status by 2070, innovation and sustainable practices in the auto sector are crucial." India will soon be in a position to export Lithium-ion batteries: Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi, <keyword id="7636498" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tata-Consumer-Products" source="Orion">Tata Consumer Products</keyword> Ltd (TCPL) on Wednesday reported a 29.67 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 358.57 crore in the first quarter ended June 30 on the back of a strong growth in its domestic business. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 276.51 crore in the April-June quarter a year ago, TCPL, earlier known as Tata Global Beverages Ltd, said in a BSE filing. Its revenue from operations was up 12.45 per cent to Rs 3,741.21 crore during the quarter under review as against Rs 3,326.83 crore in the corresponding period of the preceding fiscal. "Revenue from operations increased by 12 per cent as compared to the corresponding quarter of the previous year, mainly driven by strong growth of 16 per cent in India business, 3 per cent in international business and 5 per cent in non-branded business," TCPL said in an earnings statement. The "profit before exceptional items and tax at Rs 495 crore is higher by 23 per cent reflecting strong growth in the India branded business and improved performance in international and non-branded business," it said. Total expenses of the Tata Group FMCG arm stood at Rs 3,304.36 crore, up 11.68 per cent in the first quarter of the current fiscal compared to the year-ago period. TCPL's total income in the June quarter was at Rs 3,798.96 crore, up 12.99 per cent. In the June quarter, TCPL's overall branded business was up 13.11 per cent to Rs 3,372.75 crore. It was at Rs 2,981.82 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal. TCPL's branded businesses include tea, coffee, water and other various value-added business. Its revenue from the Indian market in the branded business was at Rs 2,477.93 crore, up 15.51 per cent. In the coffee segment, it continued the strong performance with a revenue growth of 21 per cent in the domestic market. "For the quarter, the India foods business delivered 24 per cent revenue growth and 6 per cent volume growth," the company said. Revenue from its non-branded business, which includes plantation and extraction business for tea and coffee, was at Rs 377.05 crore, up 7.2 per cent in the June quarter. Tata Starbucks -- a 50:50 joint venture between Tata Consumer Products Ltd and Starbucks Corporation -- also recorded "strong revenue growth" of 21 per cent in the June quarter. TCPL Managing Director &amp; CEO Sunil D'Souza said that during the June quarter, it saw positive results from the interventions put in place for the branded tea business, which grew volumes for the second consecutive quarter. "We continue to maintain volume growth momentum in Salt, despite the pricing actions taken earlier to manage inflation," he added. The company continued to accelerate innovation across categories with a number of new launches to expand our total addressable market. "Our growth businesses (Tata Sampann, Tata Soulfull and NourishCo ) continued their strong growth trajectory, they grew by 58 per cent this quarter and accounted for 20 per cent of the India branded business. Tata Starbucks continued to deliver a strong performance along with store expansion," he said. Shares of Tata Consumer Products Ltd on Wednesday settled at Rs 874.10 on BSE, up 0.67 per cent from the previous close.

Aditya Gaggar, director of Progressive Shares notes that a range of 23,970-24,400 is a make or break for Nifty, and a breakout on either side will open the door for a further 300-400 points. The same observation was also seen in BankNifty with a range of 49,730-50,730. "Some stocks look strong on a technical front Balrampur Chini and United Spirits, HUL, and ITC. The media segment shows stock-specific buying (Network18 &amp; SunTV). The pharma sector has extended its strong uptrend and breakout in a few counters are indicating further rally in the sector (Alkem Labs, IPCA Labs, and Mankind Pharma)", he continued. All broad market indices dipped during early trade, about 1% each, with the exception of India VIX, which inched up about 5.57%. Only consumer durables and realty saw shoots of greens during opening trade today, while media dipped over 1%. Shrikant Chouhan, Head Equity Research, Kotak Securities, highlights that "benchmark indices experienced profit booking at higher levels last week. Nifty closed 1.42% down, while Sensex closed 1,260 points lower. The metal index declined by nearly 3%, while healthcare and pharma stocks held positive momentum despite weak market sentiment. The market slipped below the 20-day SMA (simple moving average) during the week but recovered some losses in the second half and eventually closed at 24,367/79,722. "For the week, 23,800/78,000 and 24,500/80,100 are expected to be the major support and resistance levels. Above 24,500/80,100, the market may continue the pullback formation until 24,700/80,600 or even 24,900/81,200. On the other hand, below 24,100/78,600, selling pressure may increase, potentially leading to a drop to the 50-day SMA and 23,800/78,000", he said. "The suggested strategy is to reduce long positions until the market crosses 24,500 levels. Considering trading bets above 24,500 is advisable as there may be a technical breakout that could push the market towards 24,900 levels. Below 23,800, it could fall to 23,300 levels", continued Chouhan.
