San Francisco, Streaming giant <keyword id="19897536" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="netflix" source="keywords">Netflix</keyword> is reportedly planning to generate revenue from its gaming business by adding in-app purchases and advertisements. The company has had discussions in recent months about how to generate revenue from its games, reports The <keyword id="19960307" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="wall-street-journal" source="keywords">Wall Street Journal</keyword>, citing people familiar with the discussions. For two years, Netflix subscribers have been able to download tons of mobile games, all free with their subscription. The company offers more than 75 mobile games, like <keyword id="19904162" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="grand-theft-auto" source="keywords">Grand Theft Auto</keyword>, Love Is Blind, Monument Valley and Oxenfree. According to the report, Netflix is planning to put a price tag on premium gaming titles and placing ads on games. Netflix was yet to comment on the report. The company last year said it was not worried about ads and in-game payments. "We want to have a differentiated gaming experience and part of that is giving game creators the ability to think about building games purely from the perspective of player enjoyment and not having to worry about other forms of monetization, whether it be ads or in-game payment," Netflix co-CEO <keyword id="20087383" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="greg-peters" source="keywords">Greg Peters</keyword> had said during the earnings call. Netflix may introduce in-app purchases, ads to games

The <keyword id="22639470" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Adani-One-app" source="keywords">Adani One app</keyword>, developed by <keyword id="19898586" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="adani" source="keywords">Adani</keyword> Digital Labs Ltd, was launched in December 2022. The app was primarily launched to provide services for <keyword id="19955648" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="Adani-Group" source="keywords">Adani Group</keyword>’s airport vertical. Users can book flights, check the status of their flights, go shopping for duty-free products and more. Since then, the app has come a long way. For instance, the Adani One app has already integrated bill payment services and also launched a co-branded credit card in collaboration with ICICI Bank. And now, reports are that the <keyword id="20028332" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="super-app" source="keywords">super app</keyword> is working to offer loans through its platform. This will be made possible by partnering with digital lending firms and non-banking financial companies (<keyword id="19938300" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="NBFCs" source="keywords">NBFCs</keyword>). <h2>Adani One app to provide personal loans?</h2>According to a report in Moneycontrol, the Adani One app will start to offer personal loans through pilot projects in collaboration with digital lending firms and non-banking financial companies (NBFCs). The app has partnered with KrazyBee Services, a subsidiary of KreditBee, to facilitate personal loans ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5 lakh. Adani Digital Labs will act as a lending service provider (LSP) in this partnership. As of the latest report, Adani One achieved a gross merchandise value (GMV) of Rs 750 crore for the financial year ending March 2024 and has a user base of 30 million. The company aims to reach 500 million users by 2030. Adding more services to its super app, therefore, seems to be a step in this direction. The Moneycontrol report also adds that Adani One is also in discussions with other NBFCs and fintech companies to broaden its credit product offerings. The exact commission rates for loans will vary based on agreements with partners. This move is part of Adani Group's broader strategy to enhance its super app, which now includes a range of services beyond its original focus. <h2>What is a Super app?</h2>A Super app often acts as a one-stop solution for various needs. For instance, an app that allows you to buy movie tickets, book flight tickets, make payments etc will be called a super-app. Apart from Adani One, there are various other super apps like Tata Neu, and <keyword id="19957624" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="myjio" source="keywords">MyJio</keyword>. Interestingly, KreditBee, which Adani group is reportedly partnering with, is also a lending partner for Tata Neu.

Tata Play Binge claims becoming India’s biggest OTT aggregator with 27 apps

Cavelossim (Goa), Domestic passenger vehicles sales, specially those of SUVs, are expected to remain strong this fiscal despite the pent-up demand and low inventory which drove up sales in the past are no longer there, according to <keyword id="12985777" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata-motors-passenger-vehicles-ltd-" source="Orion">Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd.</keyword> and <keyword id="12985776" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata-passenger-electric-mobility-ltd-" source="Orion">Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd.</keyword> Managing Director <keyword id="1890649" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="shailesh-chandra" source="Orion">Shailesh Chandra</keyword>. The company, which sold around 50,000 units of electric passenger vehicles last year, is targeting to reach 1 lakh units this fiscal while it also targets deeper penetration of CNG with the launch of its Altroz iCNG premium hatchback. "So far the indicators are good in terms of demand sustaining at high levels, although the additional moves that we were getting from pent-up demand and low channel inventory that have subdued," <keyword id="796" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="chandra" source="Orion">Chandra</keyword> told PTI here. He was responding to a query on the outlook of passenger vehicles sales in India in 2023-24. In the last five to six months, Chandra said two factors -- pent-up demand and low channel inventory, were really driving the demand for the industry. "(Now) these two factors have gone but the key factor, which is the monthly demand that we generate, the flow of customers has sustained at a very healthy level, which is good enough to sustain a retail ability of about 3,10,000 a month (industry wise)," he added. Chandra further said, "Especially in the SUV segment, we are seeing a growth, which is significantly higher, as compared to where the industry growth will be. On the entry side, there has been a slight pressure that is what we see." The growth in the SUV segment has been driven at "a very high pace" by both upgraders and first time buyers opting for such vehicles, he added. In terms of volumes, he said, "Just two years back, we were talking about 2.7 million to 3 million (units for the) industry. It has gone up to 3.9 million (last year). Even if it sustains at a 4.1 million level (this year) it's very healthy, it should help the industry a lot." Chandra, however, added that the "unprecedented" growth of about 27 per cent that industry witnessed last year "will moderate a bit". For <keyword id="42747" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tata-motors" source="Orion">Tata Motors</keyword>, he said the idea would be to sustain the segments where it is present -- hatchback and sedans, "and new nameplate additions should come in the SUVs. That will be the focus". The company's share of SUVs to its total passenger vehicle sales is at around 66 per cent as compared to 43 per cent of the industry, he said, adding, it would grow even further with the launch of Curvv and Sierra, which would be launched in the market in 2024 and 2025, respectively. On electric vehicles, Chandra said Tata Motors has witnessed exponential growth in the last five years to 50,000 units last fiscal from around 500 units in FY19 "The growth journey has been exponential. Now we are on a higher base...the multiples might moderate from three-four times to lower levels, but of course the aspiration would be to be as close to 100,000 (units)," he noted. On the newly launched CNG version of the company's premium hatchback Altroz iCNG, he said the company has addressed one of the most important hurdles faced by CNG models, which is the compromise in the boot space due to the placement of the fuel cylinder, with its twin cylinder technology. Besides, the Altroz iCNG has been provided with good engine performance and premium features like voice command operated sunroof, he added When asked about sales expectations from the new car, he said Tata Motors experienced CNG penetration ranged anywhere between 30 per cent to 50 per cent in its two models Tiago and Tigor, which also have the twin cylinder technology. "Therefore, we expect that initially it might start with 30 per cent penetration and hopefully with greater awareness of this car (Altroz iCNG) being a no-compromise CNG car, as the awareness will increase, I think the demand will continue to grow," Chandra said. By asking women to respond to surveys during their first trimester, researchers identified various risk factors, including <keyword id="20015710" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sleep-quality" source="keywords">sleep quality</keyword> and <keyword id="20406931" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="food-insecurity" source="keywords">food insecurity</keyword>, for developing depression. "We can ask people a small set of questions and get a good sense of whether they'll become depressed," said lead author Tamar Krishnamurti, an associate professor of general internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh, US. "Strikingly, a lot of risk factors for future depression are things that are modifiable -- such as sleep quality, concerns about labour and delivery and, importantly, access to food -- meaning that we can and should do something about them," said Krishnamurti. Identifying women vulnerable to developing depression in the earlier stages of pregnancy could help tailor preventive care and offer support to address underlying causes, the researchers said. For the study, the researchers analysed the survey responses of 944 <keyword id="19905236" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="pregnant-women" source="keywords">pregnant women</keyword> who used the app as part of a larger study and did not have a history of depression. In their first trimester of pregnancy, the women responded to questions about demographics and their medical history, along with those on stress and feelings of sadness. Some of the 944 women also responded to optional questions on social factors related to their health, such as food insecurity. All women were screened for depression once every trimester. The researchers developed six machine-learning models using all the data. The best one was found to be 89 per cent accurate in predicting depression in a pregnant woman. A machine learning algorithm is a form of artificial intelligence that learns from past data to make predictions. The accuracy of the model rose to 93 per cent when the researchers included the responses to optional questions on health-related social factors. They found that food insecurity, or access to food, emerged as an important risk factor for pregnant women to develop depression in the latter stages of pregnancy. The researchers are now developing methods to integrate these survey questions into clinical settings and identifying how clinicians could have these conversations with patients about the risk of depression. Google Gemini app launched in India with support for nine languages

Tata Digital held this press conference to formally introduce their latest super app, Tata New, that was launched on April 7, 2022. Pal mentioned that the app has received 2.2 million enrollments and witnessed a “significant” number of transactions since its launch. He also mentioned that the people shopping on the Tata Neu app are shopping across categories. Pal also mentioned that the strong offline presence that Tata has is going to benefit Tata Neu as well. He, during the launch of the app, mentioned that the Tata Neu began with a cumulative consumer base of 120 million users and 2,500 offline stores, along with an 80 million app footprint across its digital assets. The app, which was initially rolled out a little over six months ago, was only open for 800,000 Tata Group employees and their friends and family till its formal launch last week. The app had already been downloaded over 100,000 times both on Google Play Store and Apple App Store before it was open to the larger customer base. N Chandrasekaran, who took charge as the chairperson of Tata Digital earlier this week, mentioned that Tata Neu has been in making for the last two years. However, he denied all media reports that the launch of Tata Neu has been delayed. “We were calibrating it along the way and we came out at the right time,” he noted. Tata owns several retail brands like BigBasket, 1mg, Croma, AirAsia, Indian Hotel Company Limited (IHCL), Qmin, Starbucks, Tata Cliq, Tata Play, Westside, Titan, Tanishq, Tata Motors and Vistara which will be available on the super app. The company is looking to partner with external brands to enhance their offerings too, Pal said. Effective from September 30, developers cannot show full-screen ads of all formats (video, <keyword id="354063" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="gif" source="Orion">GIF</keyword>, static, etc.) that show unexpectedly, typically when the user has chosen to do something else, are not allowed. "Ads that appear during game play at the beginning of a level or during the beginning of a content segment are not allowed and full-screen video interstitial ads that appear before an app's loading screen (splash screen) are not allowed," Google said in its developer policy update. Such ads are unexpected for users, as they expect to begin a game or engage in content instead. Full screen ads of all formats that are not "closeable after 15 seconds are not allowed", said Google. "Opt-in full screen interstitials or full screen interstitials that do not interrupt users in their actions (for example, after the score screen in a game app) may persist more than 15 seconds," said Google. This policy does not apply to rewarded ads, monetisation and advertising that does not interfere with normal app use or game play. Effective from November 1, all <keyword id="6354741" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="apps" source="Orion">apps</keyword> distributed on Google Play are required to respect the Flag_Secure declaration of other apps for security and privacy purposes. "Apps must not facilitate or create workarounds to bypass the Flag_Secure settings in other apps," the company said. Flag_Secure is a display flag declared in an app's code to indicate that its user interface (UI) contains sensitive data intended to be limited to a secure surface while using the app. Google will not allow apps that mislead users by impersonating someone else (another developer, company, entity) or another app from August 31. "Don't imply that your app is related to or authorised by someone that it isn't. Be careful not to use app icons, descriptions, titles, or in-app elements that could mislead users about your app's relationship to someone else or another app," said Google. Effective from September 30, if developers sell subscriptions in apps, they must ensure that the apps clearly disclose how a user can manage or cancel their subscription. "You must also include in your app access to an easy-to-use, online method to cancel the subscription," the company said. Google cracks down on annoying ads in games, to enforce stricter guidelines from September 30

The company, which is present in the country through a wholly-owned subsidiary, joins the likes of market leader Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Renault, Kia India and MG Motor, who have also made the year-end announcements to hike prices from the next month. "After assessing the consistent increase in the input cost of raw materials and upcoming regulatory requirements, we will have to undergo a price revision for our products from January 23. The increment will be in the range of up to ₹30,000 and vary from model to model," Honda Cars India Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Kunal Behl told PTI. As per the second phase of BS-VI emission regulations, to be effective from April 2023, vehicles will need to have an onboard self-diagnostic device to monitor the real-time driving emission levels. The device will constantly monitor key parts for meeting emission standards, such as catalytic converter and oxygen sensors, to keep a close watch on emissions. Additionally, in order to control the level of fuel burnt, the vehicles will also carry programmed fuel injectors, which would control the timing and amount of fuel injected into the petrol engine.  As you get inside the car, you don’t need to stoop too much, thanks to the higher ground clearance. Seated in the driver’s seat, you can see the car dash looks quite distinct and unlike any other cars in the category. You can pair your phone with the touch screen infotainment system. Connecting to Bluetooth was easy but there was slight difficulty that arose when we installed Tata Connectnext app. Tata needs to work out a bit more on this. Once you have that app, you need to download tons of other apps including navigation one. Our suggestion would be Tata get an app that would be independent by itself. The front corner AC vents get body colour and look outstanding. The 8 speaker music system is from <keyword id="13129" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Harman">Harman</keyword> and delivers good beats. The instrument cluster looks a bit cluttered and lacks elegance. The rear seat is big with enough leg room to keep you up for long drives. There is also a cup holder, which can be used as hand rest. This would keep the corporate passengers stay hooked. There is also a 12V socket for rear passengers. However Tata misses out on rear AC vent, which is almost an industry standard these days. Also we feel, there should have been a pair of reading lights for the rear passengers.

 The Rear Packaged Tray is sloping and that’s not a good place to put your book or bottles. But we get the point that to make room inside the trunk the manufacturer had to compromise here. Tigor gets a 419 litre boot, the biggest in the category. Tata cars are known for large boot space and Tigor does enough justice to the reputation. Also Tata has given up traditional gooseneck hinges and replaced them with hydraulic ones when it comes to opening of the boot, thus ensuring bigger opening. Performance and handling

 Tigor gets an indigenous 1.2 litre petrol engine Revotron, the one that Tata is powering its cars since 2014. The engine delivers 84 bhp of power and 114 Nm of torque. There is no AMT version of the sedan yet. But the manual is quite fairly softer. The clutch is light and well responsive thus making you zoom well even on bumper to bumper traffic. The steering is butter light but stays in place when driving at 120 kmph on highways. The gearbox however staggers and needs some refinement. While going up gear is easy, coming down a notch is clashy. Fuel efficiency The petrol variant though claims to deliver 23 kilometres a litre, got us 13-14 kilometres a litre on city drive and 17 kmpl on highways. Safety The top variants of Tigor are loaded with dual air bags, ABS and rear camera for parking assistance. Who deserves this car? Tigor is best suited for family of four and if you are planning to upgrade from hatchback to sedan you can consider this car.

Average session per user is defined as the average number of times the app is opened in the given timeframe. However, Zomato led almost all the metrics in the food category, despite not opting for IPL advertising. The majority of users during IPL were aged between 18-24 years, the survey found. Spotify and Swiggy also saw a spike of more than 50% in installations. Dream 11 saw over 79% increase in app downloads across the three periods. New app installations for Myntra were 25 times higher than that of Meesho’s. “Advertising during the IPL skyrockets, giving brands a significant amount of reach to their existing customers and target audience. Zomato and PhonePe surpassed their competitors Swiggy and Paytm in almost every category, including the overall market penetration. Since the pandemic, online platforms have gained steady ground,” said <keyword id="718190" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="tabrez-alam" source="Orion">Tabrez Alam</keyword>, chief of business strategy, Bobble AI. Bobble AI’s report said that most of the apps gained in terms of average session per user (ASU) except for Tata Neu – which saw a 67% reduction. PhonePe reported an over 22% increase in ASU, beating Paytm that saw a near 14% rise in ASU post IPL. However, there was no change in ASU for the Swiggy app. Dream11 saw an 83% increase in active users (AUs) during IPL. Active users are the total users who were active on the said application in the given timeframe. Myntra’s AUs were substantially higher than Meesho's. PhonePe edged out Paytm for AUs in the fintech industry. Zomato overtakes Swiggy without IPL advertising Bobble AI also analysed whether advertising during IPL gave an edge to Swiggy over Zomato or not. The data showed that Swiggy didn’t get any such edge. Zomato performed better than Swiggy on all metrics apart from the churn rate. Churn rate is the percentage of active users who opened the application in the previous 15 days but did not open it in the subsequent 15 days. Zomato’s open rate (7.3%) – defined as the number of times users logged into an app – was more than Swiggy’s (1.93%). Zomato had over 38% more active users than Swiggy during IPL. Advertising during IPL didn’t help Swiggy perform better than Zomato, its main competitor. The bbnow service will sell over 3,000 products, the company said in a statement. Besides this, BigBasket would also be focusing on one hour delivery through bbexpresss within a 6 kilometre radius of the store. The bbexpress would offer over 8,000 products. The company will rely on its own dark stores for these operations. Dark stores are micro-fulfillment centres dedicated to rapid online order fulfillment. There is no cap on the number of products that one can order through these platforms, but typical order sizes average between 3-5 products and around ₹400 for the <keyword id="12724312" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="quick-commerce" source="Orion">quick commerce</keyword> deliveries, the company said. BigBasket will be a part of Tata Digital’s super app TataNeu. The Tata Enterprise company also emphasised that they have built a “massive” delivery network across India and it is constantly in expansion state. BigBasket launched a chain of offline stores in 2021 and 90 of them are already operational. The company now plans to launch 700 more such stores by the end of 2022. BigBasket was launched in 2010 as an online grocery supermarket. The company today covers an entire spectrum of grocery retail through quick-commerce, physical stores, alongside online grocery sales through the main BigBasket platform. “Apart from consumers who plan and buy their monthly groceries from bigbasket, there is a huge user base comprising those who make unplanned purchases, top-ups and impulse purchases. For impulse and emergency purchases, the bbnow service with its 10-20-minute delivery window is a great option…,” Hari Menon, cofounder and chief executive officer of BigBasket, said in a statement. BigBasket is the<a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/newsletter-23-december-2021/binewsletter/88440534.cms"> last big grocery delivery player</a> to enter the quick commerce space.
