New Delhi, Two men were arrested for allegedly duping people by hacking food and grocery delivery app <keyword id="19896956" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="swiggy" source="keywords">Swiggy</keyword> account, a Delhi Police official said on Monday. The accused were identified as <keyword id="20480275" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="aniket" source="keywords">Aniket</keyword> Kalra (25), and Himanshu Kumar (23), both residents of <keyword id="19921445" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="gurugram" source="keywords">Gurugram</keyword>, Haryana. According to police, the duo was using 'Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system to hack Swiggy accounts of the victims. The official said that after hacking the account, the accused used to place orders from the victims account and then used to sell the grocery products at a lower price. Their arrest came after a woman complainant, a resident of Sultanpur was cheated of Rs 97,197 by some unknown persons from her Lazy Pay account linked with Swiggy account. During the investigation, technical analysis of call details and money transaction was made and it was found that complainant received a call in late night hours from an Automated Telephony Interactive Voice Response (IVR) System and she was told in Pre-Recorded Voice Responses that somebody is trying to access her Swiggy account. Thereafter, her Swiggy account was hacked and online orders of Rs 97,197 were placed using her Lazypay account linked with Swiggy. "Further, CDR analysis of the calling number revealed that the mobile number from which the complainant received the call is an application based generated number connected with IVR System. Simultaneously, details from Swiggy were obtained and it came to notice that the alleged orders were delivered in Gurugram," said the Deputy Commissioner of Police (south) Ankit Chauhan. The mobile number used for delivering the products was found registered on fake ownership. "The team worked on all the available aspects of the case. The efforts of the team bore fruits when during IMEI search, the location of suspect was zeroed in Sector 7, Gurugram, Haryana," said the <keyword id="19916219" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="dcp" source="keywords">DCP</keyword>. Raids were conducted and Aniket and Himanshu were apprehended. On interrogation, Aniket disclosed that he used to work as a delivery boy in Zomato and Swiggy. "Thereafter, he started buying grocery items from online selling platform at lower price through offers and then used to sell them in the market, thus saving 5 per cent-10 per cent on every order. Further, he along with co-accused <keyword id="20646636" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ansh" source="keywords">Ansh</keyword>, a resident of Punjab met on telegram and they both started duping people through IVR Calling system," said the DCP. Ansh has the data of people who have linked their credit card/debit card/internet banking with their Swiggy account. "Ansh used to target victims by hacking their Swiggy account through pre-recorded voice responses and thereby accessing confidential data of victims. Then Aniket used to link a phone number registered on fake ownership with the Swiggy account of the victim and then used to place orders of Grocery items for as much amount as available in the account of the victim," said the DCP. The random addresses of Gurugram were provided for delivery of items to avoid any police action. "Aniket and his friend Himanshu used to sell the grocery items in the local market at discounted price and then used to send 50 per cent profit to Ansh via cash depositing machines or various UPI Id's," said the DCP. Himanshu owns a medical shop in Gurugram and under the guise of a medical shop he was involved in transferring the cheated amounts to various UPI IDs and accounts. "Further investigation of the case is in progress to trace the co-accused and to link other cases," the DCP added.

Juspay processes payments for companies like Amazon, Swiggy, MakeMyTrip among others. The leaked data is in the form of a data dump and has been leaked through a compromised server of Juspay. Juspay has <a href="https://juspayproducts.medium.com/your-security-is-our-first-concern-8d98c96e5f17">confirmed</a> the data leak in its official blog post, outlining the details of the breach. “It pains us to inform you that a data breach did happen on 18th August 2020. Non-sensitive masked card information, mobile numbers and email ids of a subset of our users were compromised,” the company said. Cybersecurity researcher Rajshekhar Rajaharia discovered the data breach. He found that the data dump was available for sale on the dark web. Speaking to Business Insider, Rajaharia noted that this data breach could be a lot more serious if the hackers figure out the encryption algorithm used to hash card numbers. Here’s what was leaked in the <keyword id="10538684" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Juspay-Data-Breach">Juspay data breach</keyword> As per Juspay, the leaked information includes non-sensitive masked card information, mobile numbers and email IDs of a subset of users. The company has said that the leaked information does not include full card numbers, order information, card PIN or password. The data on the dark web includes information such as the bank that has issued the card, card expiry date, the last four digits of the card, masked card number, card type and the user’s name, among other details. Should you be worried? Rajaharia pointed out that there could be a major risk to users if the algorithm used to hash card numbers is leaked or if the hackers figure it out on their own. A hash is a unique and fixed-length string that is mapped to a set of data. In this case, Juspay has hashed the 16-digit debit and credit card numbers in order to process transactions. If hackers can figure out the algorithm used to generate these hashes, they could use brute force and find out what the original card numbers are. Juspay has masked only six digits out of sixteen-digit card numbers. Rajaharia says that while this is good, the safety of users rests primarily on the hashing algorithm. Scammers could also exploit this data leak In addition to the risks mentioned above, Rajaharia also pointed out that scammers could exploit this data leak to dupe cardholders. Since the leak includes mobile numbers, they could call unsuspecting cardholders and trick them into revealing the full card numbers, PIN, CVV as well as one-time passwords. Rajaharia also pointed out that since these users are paying customers, they are a lot more valuable than non-paying customers. Rajaharia has confirmed to Business Insider that this is the same hacker who breached MobiKwik earlier last month. He says that the hacker sold the database to a reseller who has now posted the details on the dark web. Domino’s India data breach allegedly exposes 1 million credit card details, 180 million order details

The internet presents a whole host of options and opportunities — however, the digital landscape is also getting more dangerous by the day. Cybersecurity firm <keyword id="970707" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="SonicWall">SonicWall</keyword> claims that cyber attacks are getting more targeted in 2020. “Cybercriminals are honing their ability to design, author and deploy stealth-like attacks with increasing precision while growing their capabilities to evade detection by sandbox technology,” said SonicWall President and CEO Bill Conner. On Safer Internet Day, a survey done by OLX shows that more than half of Indian internet users neglect basic cybersecurity safety practices. It points out that 52% of the respondents shared their numbers or personal addresses on public forums online. Another 26% admitted to sharing their one-time passwords (OTPs) with others. The remaining 22% have shared bank account numbers, UPI pins, credit and credit card details.

 Cybercriminals are adapting along with users Aside from users willingly sharing their information, cybercriminals are constantly transforming the way they attack as well. Cybersecurity firm SophosLabs points out that ransomware attacks are increasing and getting better at slipping past security measures. “The creators of ransomware have a pretty good grasp of how security software works and adapt their attacks accordingly. Everything is designed to avoid detection while the malware encrypts as many documents as possible as quickly as possible and makes it hard, if not impossible, to recover the data,” said Mark Loman, director of engineering for threat mitigation technology at Sophos. Anticipating a rise in food orders, Zomato has hiked the platform fee from ₹6 to ₹10 and has renamed it to the “Festive season platform fee”. “This fee helps us pay our bills to keep Zomato running. The platform fee is different from other charges levied on orders such as GST, delivery charges and restaurant charges. Customers are required to pay this charge irrespective of Zomato Gold membership. Zomato recently approved a fundraising of ₹8,500 crore via a qualified institutional placement (QIP). This is aimed at boosting its cash reserves after its recent acquisition of ticketing business from Paytm. <h2>Zomato share price surges</h2>Zomato’s share price increased by 2.3% on Wednesday after the increase in platform fees. Exponent said its energy stack together unlocks a 15-minute rapid charge, and long battery life (3,000 cycle life warranty, 3 times the industry standard) - all done on regular LFP cells for the first time in the industry. Rapid charging kills range anxiety and the need for expensive, oversized battery packs, it said, adding that with this two-sided approach, EVs powered by exponent will be 30 per cent more affordable, which has been made possible by an optimised battery capacity (30 per cent smaller), and 5-year financing (powered by 3,000 cycle life warranty). Additionally, 15-minute rapid charging reduces EV charging cost by 33 per cent, the company claimed. Exponent's energy stack addresses two key problems that, for decades, prevented rapid charging on LFP cells - Lithium plating and extreme heat, it said. Exponent Energy aims to power 25,000 electric vehicles by 2025

"We've redesigned the Play Store to help users get the most from their tablets, <keyword id="6372682" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="chromebooks" source="Orion">Chromebooks</keyword>, and foldables," the tech giant said in an Android Developers blogpost on Tuesday. The company introduced four updates to help users find high-quality large screen apps on its app store -- refreshed app listing pages, ranking and quality improvements, streamlined store navigation, and a split-screen search experience. "Your store listing page is the best way to demonstrate the functionality and value of your app, so we've revamped the experience to put your content front and centre," the tech giant added. Games with high-quality videos will now show a video banner at the top of their app listing page, allowing users to get a sense of gameplay in an "immersive" way. The company also reorganised apps and games details pages in a multi-column layout, bringing more of users' content higher up on the page. To promote high-quality apps that "shine" on large screens, the tech giant made several ranking changes to boost quality across the Play Store. "Apps and games that adhere to our large screen app quality guidelines will now be ranked higher in search and Apps and Games Home," the company said. "For more seamless browsing, we've simplified our store navigation and moved to a left-side navigation rail on larger screens." This puts menu items closer to users' thumbs and makes them more accessible, especially when holding a device in landscape mode. With the new split-screen search experience, users can easily discover and compare apps from within the search results page. "These changes will begin rolling out over the coming weeks, and are just the beginning of our journey in creating a tailored Play Store experience for large screens," Google added.
