Maruti Suzuki's Epic New Swift S-CNG launched, price starts from Rs 8,19,500

Chandigarh, Dec 6 () Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has urged Japanese Ambassador to India Satoshi Suzuki to impress upon companies in his country to invest in upcoming mega industrial parks at Rajpura and Bathinda.
 The Japanese envoy called on Amarinder Singh after attending the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit 2019 on Thursday, a state government release said.
 Being located in the vicinity Mohali, Rajpura offers basic infrastructure in terms of road and air connectivity, with prestigious educational institutes, the chief minister said.
 He also mentioned that Rajpura thermal plant would cater to the power requirements of companies intending to set up units in the industrial park.
 Suzuki appreciated the congenial investment atmoshpere in the state and assured the chief minister that several Japanese companies would look at making investments in the state, the release said.
 He also invited Amarinder to visit Japan for exploring investment opportunities for the state.
 Suzuki requested the chief minister to depute a dedicated officer to liaison with the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) for setting up industries, forging technical alliances and collaborations with Japanese companies.
 Vini Mahajan, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries and Investment Promotion apprised Suzuki that several renowned Japanese companies like Aiche, Isuzu, Yanmar and Kansai have already collaborated with Vardhman Group, Swaraj Mazda Limited, Sonalika and Nerolac paints, respectively.

And Teresa Liu-Ambrose, who studies healthy aging and cognition at the University of British Columbia, said that as long as you continue to move throughout your life, exercise makes the brain more resilient to deterioration as you get older.They also told Insider that long-term exercise was associated with more efficient brain functioning, growth in the brain's memory center, and faster connections in the region associated with focus.<h2>Exercise floods the brain with 'feel good' neurochemicals </h2>Suzuki, who is the <a href="https://www.wendysuzuki.com/books">author</a> of the books "Healthy Brain, Happy Life" and "Good Anxiety," said that during and immediately after you exercise, your brain releases a "bubble bath" of neurochemicals like endorphins, serotonin, and dopamine that decrease anxiety and make you feel good. "Endorphins do seem to be associated with that runner's high — that happy, exuberant feeling,'" she said.In addition to making you happy, dopamine also increases your focus right after you workout, because the part of the brain associated with attention uses dopamine to function, according to Suzuki.<h2>Working out stimulates growth of neurons</h2>Researchers have found that exercise stimulates growth of new neurons in the region of the brain primarily associated with memory, called the hippocampus, Suzuki said. These new brain cells then integrate with the rest of the hippocampus, making the area physically bigger and increasing your capacity for memory. Exercise also impacts the size of the prefrontal cortex, located right behind your forehead, by increasing the thickness of a part of brain cells called axons, she said. "The axon is covered with an insulation substance called myelin that basically makes the electrical activity through the neuron go as quickly as possible," Suzuki said. "The more myelin, the faster it goes. That's one of the things that differentiates humans from other animals that don't have our cognitive power. We have more myelin, which makes our connections work faster. "So these are the two areas that you lose over time," she said. "With regular exercise — the longer you do it throughout your lifetime — you're building a big, fat, fluffy hippocampus, a big, fluffy prefrontal cortex. And you're not curing dementia or you're not curing aging, but you're making these two susceptible brain areas as strong and powerful as you can. So it literally takes longer for aging to have its effect."Liu-Ambrose said that at around 50 to 60 years old, the hippocampus shrinks about 1% to 2% every year, and exercise has been shown to reduce the rate of this shrinkage. Exercise also helps prevent the spread of cerebral small-vessel disease, in which small strokes happen throughout the brain and increase your <a href="https://www.insider.com/having-a-family-history-of-dementia-increases-my-own-risk-2022-8">risk for dementia</a>.In general, Suzuki said that exercise helps form new blood vessels, which can reduce effects of strokes as we age. Finally, Liu-Ambrose said exercise can keep the brain working more efficiently as we get older. She said that older brains often need to recruit more regions of the brain for the same task."After exercise, what happens is that brain can become more efficient, whereby you're recruiting less regions of the brain, but for better performance," she said.<h2>Switching your exercise up might be better for your brain</h2>Suzuki said that learning a new skill has been shown to be generally beneficial for your brain, so trying new exercises may give you increased brain benefits. Doing a new exercise, she said, builds new circuits in your motor cortex."If you just do the same exercise over and over, and it becomes more rote and it's not challenging in any new way, is it better to challenge yourself and to try something harder? Yeah, it is. It will engage a larger or a different part of your brain, and it's always good to mix things up that way," she said.Adding new movements to <a href="https://www.insider.com/how-to-start-weightlifting-if-only-do-cardio-yoga-2021-10">your weight-lifting routine</a>, cross-training, or taking a kickboxing or zumba class might be a fun way to accomplish this, she said.While aerobic cardiovascular exercise has been studied the most, she said there is no "best" exercise for brain health. The event would also celebrate the four decades of Haryana-Japan business relationship, which began in 1981 and continues to flourish even today, says the statement. Chief Minister Khattar said this is a huge achievement for the state as Maruti is setting up its third plant in the state. He said Maruti Suzuki has purchased an additional 800 acres at IMT Kharkhoda for its proposed new car manufacturing facility. The total project cost is estimated to be Rs 18,000 crore. It has the potential to generate employment for 11,000 skilled, unskilled and semi-skilled persons. Along with Maruti Suzuki, Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Ltd has also purchased a 100-acre land parcel for setting up an integrated manufacturing facility for two-wheelers, including engines. The total project cost is estimated to be Rs 1,466 crore, with a potential to generate employment for 2,000 skilled, unskilled and semi-skilled persons. "India is performing well in the ease-of-doing business and the ease-of-living index and Haryana is considered the fastest in both these respects. Haryana is one of the favourite destinations for global investors. Maruti played a major role towards development in the automobile sector and overall progress of the state," said the Chief Minister. "This will give a huge boost to the automobile sector and will motivate multinational companies in other sectors to set up their headquarters and manufacturing plants in Haryana. Along with this, new employment opportunities will also be created for the youth of the state. "Haryana has emerged as a magnet for the industry due to its enabling policies, availability of quality infrastructure, ease-of-doing business, conducive business environment and incentive structure. In Haryana, work was done to develop the industrial areas near the GT Roads and its proximity with Delhi other states too made it more preferred destination for industrial projects and there are dozens of industrial areas in multiple districts," said Khattar. The Industrial Model Township (IMT) at Kharkhoda, where Maruti Suzuki will be setting up its project, is an integrated industrial township with world-class infrastructure, being developed over an area of approximately 3,217 acres. It is strategically located on the Delhi-Haryana border, adjoining the western peripheral (Kundli-Manesar-Palwal) Expressway and State Highway 18. The IMT has abundant water and power supply from the NCR canal and the electricity utilities. Due to its proximity to Delhi and direct connectivity with Delhi Bahadurgarh, Gurugram and Sonipat via the KMP Expressway, Kharkhoda IMT will emerge as the next node for industrial development in Haryana. Regarding the expansion of Maruti Suzuki's foothold in Haryana, a spokesperson for the carmaker company said the company was in discussion with various state governments for their expansion plan but they find Haryana a suitable destination. "This first manufacturing facility at the site will have a production capacity of 250,000 vehicles per annum. It is expected to be commissioned by 2025. The land site will have space for capacity expansion and will include more production plants in the future," said the spokesperson. Notably, after setting up its first car plant at Gurugram in 1983, Maruti has steadily expanded its manufacturing footprint in Haryana by setting up a production facility at Manesar and a state-of-the-art R&amp;D centre in Rohtak. The country's largest carmaker, which could not produce around 1.7 lakh units last fiscal due to semiconductor shortage, is also coming up with measures to reduce the usage of certain kinds of chips in its cars. "The problem (chip shortage) is a global one..it could affect different models, different companies, different modules differently..all our efforts are to organise supplies through multiple sources," Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) Executive Officer (Corporate Affairs) Rahul Bharti said in an analyst call. He noted that the company is working to do away with certain chips in some models/trims where the requirement is superfluous. "If there is a particular semiconductor in a particular variant of a model which is superfluous and not required..so we are removing all such needs so that our consumption is minimum. All such efforts are going on including negotiations at global scale. Having said that we are still vulnerable to supply side bottlenecks," Bharti noted. When asked about the company position in the ongoing fiscal, he said: "We do not have full year visibility but at least Q1 will be tough and broadly the uncertainty continues." The usage of semiconductors in the auto industry has gone up globally in recent times with new models coming with more and more electronic features such as bluetooth connectivity and driver-assist, navigation and hybrid-electric systems. Replying to a query, Bharti confirmed that the strong hybrid technology introduced in Grand Vitara could be launched in more models. "We have got a very positive response..we plan to bring it (strong hybrid) in more models also," he stated. On sales growth outlook for this fiscal, Bharti said industry body SIAM estimates the passenger vehicle industry to grow between 5-7 per cent. "Maruti Suzuki should grow well beyond this. So we would be better than the industry," he noted. MSI CFO Ajay Seth noted that the company has lined up Rs 8,000 crore capex in the current fiscal with capital set to go into the construction of the Sonipat plant, development of new models and annual maintenance of existing infrastructure. He noted that the company has strengthened its presence in the sports utility vehicle segment with Brezza and Grand Vitara thereby increasing its market share in the vertical. "Moving forward with Jimny and Fronx, the SUV portfolio of the company will be further strengthened. With this the company aims to secure a leadership position in the SUV segment," Seth said. He noted that the company believes in offering products and technologies which are relevant to the Indian market context. Maruti Suzuki remains vulnerable to supply side bottlenecks as uncertainty continues: Official

The country's largest carmaker <keyword id="44883" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="maruti-suzuki" source="Orion">Maruti Suzuki</keyword> India (MSI) witnessed a massive over two-fold drop in <keyword id="22637" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="production" source="Orion">production</keyword> last month owing to the shortage of semiconductor chips. In a regulatory filing, the auto major reported total production of 81,278 units in September as compared with 1,66,086 units in September 2020. "Production volume of the company in September 2021 was affected due to electronic components shortage," it noted. MSI said total passenger vehicle production stood at 77,782 units last month, as against 1,61,668 units in September 2020. Production of <keyword id="913938" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mini-cars" source="Orion">mini cars</keyword> comprising Alto and S-Presso models stood at 17,163 units last month as against 30,492 units a year ago. Similarly, manufacturing of compact cars, comprising WagonR, Celerio, Ignis, Swift, Baleno and Dzire, declined to 29,272 units from 90,924 units earlier, MSI said. Production of utility vehicles -- Gypsy, Ertiga, S-Cross, Vitara Brezza and XL6 -- dropped to 21,873 units last month from 26,648 units in the corresponding month of 2020. The company also reported a drop in the production of its Eeco van at 8,025 units last month as compared with 11,183 units in September 2020. MSI said production of its light commercial vehicle Super Carry stood at 3,496 units last month, as against 4,418 units in the year-ago month. MSI had reported a 8 per cent drop in total production in August on a yearly basis at 1,13,937 units. On August 31, the auto major had announced that it expects total vehicle production in September across its plants in <keyword id="41646" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Haryana" source="Orion">Haryana</keyword> and Gujarat to be just 40 per cent of the normal output due to the semiconductor shortage. The company's production capacity at Gurgaon and Manesar plants in Haryana is around 15 lakh units per annum. Besides, Suzuki Motor Gujarat (SMG), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Japan's <keyword id="100743" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="suzuki-motor-corporation" source="Orion">Suzuki Motor Corporation</keyword>, has an additional installed production capacity of 7.5 lakh units per annum. ReNew's acquisition of Climate Connect is expected to not only add to its digital capabilities but also allow it to offer a suite of digital product offerings to customers across the energy value chain, it added. With a surge in connected devices in the last three years, Amazon also noted that there is also a 100 per cent increase in requests to Alexa for controlling compatible smart home appliances such as smart lights, plugs, fans, TVs, security cameras, ACs, water heaters, and air purifiers. "Since we launched Alexa and Echo smart speakers in India, the smart home sector has evolved significantly, and voice technology has played a massive role in this," <keyword id="20216460" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="parag-gupta" source="keywords">Parag Gupta</keyword>, Director and Country Manager, Amazon Devices, India, said in a statement. "Customers can easily set up a smart home by getting a compatible smart bulb and instantly control with Alexa, or get a smart plug to automate existing appliances. It's clear that more people are seeing how setting up a smart home is not as complex as they had imagined," he added. Moreover, the company said that customers in India are also evolving in their smart home journey. In the last year, usage of Alexa to control smart fans and smart ACs increased by 37 per cent, which is the highest among all smart home appliances. New Delhi: India is set to enter a transformative "smartphone era" for cars in 2025, with the introduction of vehicles featuring 5G M2M connectivity and advanced AI technologies, according to the latest findings from Techarc's India Connected Consumer Report 2025. The report said the automotive sector will skip 4G and will enable connectivity using the latest 5G cellular technology. It observed that consumers are interested in spending money on improving the value proposition in terms of features, quality and experience rather than exploring too many smart devices. "22 per cent of the respondents shared about considering optimising their smart devices portfolio. Among the new set of categories, smart/connected cars is generating high interest among consumers. 55 per cent of the respondents said that they have come across news or information about smart/connected cars in recent times," it said. Starting in 2025, passenger cars in India will be equipped with 5G M2M connectivity, on-device GenAI, and cloud connectivity, making advanced technologies accessible across various price segments, it added. In-vehicle computing and artificial intelligence (GenAI), along with cloud applications, will become essential components of cars, enabling real-time data processing to support drivers effectively. Most cars priced at Rs 20 lakh and above will feature these technologies as standard. The cumulative revenues from automotive chipset companies have already surpassed USD 1.5 billion, with companies like Qualcomm and MediaTek leading the market. Some of the familiar applications that consumers will be able to use while driving include communication apps for audio/video conferencing, OTT entertainment apps, music streaming, podcasts, online shopping, vehicle maintenance, and servicing. "With connectivity and the technologies it brings to the cars, the future of the automobile sector will be fundamentally determined by the auto-technologies that will influence the overall experience, performance, comfort, safety and entertainment available to the drivers as well as the passengers. "So far, such features were seen as luxury or high-end experiences. But starting 2025, many of these will become mainstream for cars in India," Techarc AutoTech Analyst Sadat Ahanger said. With 22 automobile manufacturers producing nearly 5 million passenger vehicles annually in India, the country is poised to become a leader in the global 5G M2M market within the next few years, the report said. About 21 per cent of respondents said MG Motors is the leader in providing <keyword id="24016739" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="connected-cars-in-India" source="keywords">connected cars in India</keyword>, followed closely by Kia Motors at 18 per cent and Tata Motors at 15 per cent, it added. Hyundai and Maruti Suzuki also ranked among the top-five brands in this category. The report draws insights from a survey of 4,500 "connected consumers" across metro and non-metro cities. The report defined a connected consumer as one owning at least 3 smart devices in addition to a smartphone.

It has come up with a proposal to develop Allahabad as an “access-controlled township that will have 4G network and full <keyword id="47655" type="TECHNOLOGY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Wi-Fi">Wi-Fi</keyword> connectivity with homogeneity of design for all building structures,” an official release said. 
 The Samajwadi Party government led by Chief Minister <keyword id="6355031" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Akhilesh-Yadav">Akhilesh Yadav</keyword> has been promoting its development agenda to win back support after its dismal performance in the Lok Sabha elections. 
 
A presentation on the plan of the new city was made to senior officials from the infrastructure and industrial development department and Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation during a meeting last week. 
 
“Around 25% area of the township would be reserved for industries with dedicated power supply, prepaid electricity meters, provision for 100 per cent water harvesting, zero-discharge mechanism, and CNG supply network,” said Sanjiv Saran, principal secretary, industrial development. 
 
Amity University, Fortis Healthcare and Maruti Suzuki have already expressed interest to invest in the state and the government is considering to allot them land in Allahabad. 
 
“The education department has been asked to prepare a proposal to develop the university in 40 acres of land,” an official statement said.

The company mentioned that it has also introduced new features like group calls for up to 32 people, the addition of doodles, and video calling on tablets, foldables, smart devices, and TVs for those using Duo as their cross-platform video calling app service. The company said it has made quality and reliability improvements as well as introduced new moderation controls to help keep meetings safe and productive.
