Brands don't buy into brand ambassadors personal opinions. @snapdeal shouldn't face this," Bansal, the co-founder and CEO of India's largest online marketplace <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> tweeted.

	Internet users downvoted Snapdeal's app on the Google Play Store and commented that others uninstall the app as well. "Uninstall snapdeal app #App wapsi Amir Khan plzz leave our country as soon as possible no Deal with snapdeal just uninstaled snapdeal App," an app store user who goes by the name Sujit Kadam wrote.
 

	This hasn't affected Snapdeal's rankings on the Play Store yet, according to App Annie. Snapdeal's ranking has remained constant at 27 in the the list of top apps. Flipkart is ranked at 9 and Amazon India at 14, according to App Annie.
 

	Flipkart itself was at the receiving end of such a protest in April as users angry with the company's move to join Airtel Zero down-voted and uninstalled its app in protest. 
 

	The last time around on Twitter, Bansal wasn't very charitable towards Snapdeal. In May, he took a stab at Snapdeal co-founder Rohit Bansal who reportedly suggested that India didn't have the right kind of software engineers it needed.
 

	"Don't blame India for your failure to hire great engineers. They join for culture and challenge," Bansal said. The Snapdeal co-founder later clarified that he was quoted "out of context."

Aamir Khan's intolerance remark: Flipkart's Sachin Bansal comes to Snapdeal's rescue

After <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword>’s offer of $800-$850 million got rejected by <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword>, the Indian e-commerce giant is planning to make a new one. Reportedly, Flipkart might offer $900-950 million for buying Snapdeal. Snapdeal had asked for $1 billion for acquisition and this new offer is somewhat near to the asking price. PTI quoted sources as saying the deal is not finalised yet and the new offer will be made only next week. Snapdeal's board has already rejected a takeover offer of $800-850 million (around Rs 5,500 crore) from Flipkart as it felt the amount undervalued the company given that the due diligence report was clean. <keyword id="163404" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Softbank">SoftBank</keyword>, Snapdeal's largest investor, has been proactively mediating the sale for the past few months. The board of Snapdeal also has representation from its founders (<keyword id="219793" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kunal-Bahl">Kunal Bahl</keyword> and Rohit Bansal), Nexus Venture Partners and Kalaari Capital. Meanwhile, Snapdeal is also looking for buyers to sell <keyword id="3489561" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="vulcan-express">Vulcan Express</keyword>, its logistics arm. Snapdeal onboards Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh for its latest campaign

MUMBAI: <keyword id="6360722" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="ratan-tata">Ratan Tata</keyword> is said to be considering a personal investment in <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword>, an e-commerce firm, at a time when online retail is generating investor euphoria on the back of exponential growth. 
 
In a move that would signal his interest in India's emerging consumer internet story, the 76-year-old chairman emeritus of Tata Sons may buy out an early investor in Snapdeal through a secondary sale, people familiar with the development said. 
 
Kunal Bahl, co-founder of Snapdeal, did not respond to TOI's query while an emailed questionnaire to Tata's office on Monday remained unanswered till the time of going to press on Tuesday. 
 
The 76-year-old, who transformed India's largest private sector conglomerate with a string of marquee global acquisitions, is expected to be a minority investor in his personal capacity in the e-tailer. TOI could not ascertain the exact stake Tata would hold in Snapdeal if and when the transaction is completed. 
 
While his holding is unlikely to be high, its real significance would lie in the buzz it would create for the four-year-old firm. Tata has always had in interest in technology; even so, the deal, if it goes through, would mark the ultimate coming together of the old and new guard. 
 
People close to Snapdeal said Tata had visited the firm's headquarters in Delhi about a month ago and addressed employees. 
 Tata could be boarding Snapdeal just when the online marketplace, which has crossed $1 billion in gross merchandise sale by value—second only to Flipkart—is busy fending off a challenge from online retail juggernaut <keyword id="18635" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Amazon">Amazon</keyword> for No. 2 position in the domestic e-commerce market. 
 
The investment would be testimony to the growing interest of established business houses in India's burgeoning internet commerce, which is poised to hit $9 billion over the next two years, according to US venture capitalist Accel Partners. 
 The potential investment by Tata, who stepped down from his day-to-day responsibilities at the $100 billion conglomerate about two years ago, would be a huge, timely shot in the arm for Snapdeal, with both <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> and Amazon declaring open war for dominance of India's fast-growing e-commerce market which has attracted top dollars from financial investors. 
 
Bangalore-based Flipkart, the country's leading e-tailer with gross sales nearing $3 billion, last week raised $1 billion in funding mostly from existing investors led by Tiger Global, Naspers and Accel Partners. The Jeff Bezos-led Amazon responded a day later by announcing a $2 billion investment in what is becoming a hotly contested three-legged race. 
 Another Indian business tycoon, Wipro's Azim Premj, has laid bets on the Indian consumer internet story through his family office PremjiInvest by picking up minority stakes in <keyword id="319719" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Myntra">Myntra</keyword>, now merged with Flipkart, and Snapdeal. <keyword id="6354512" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Infosys">Infosys</keyword> co-founder <keyword id="6355623" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Narayana-Murthy">Narayana Murthy</keyword> recently formed an e-commerce joint venture with Amazon through his private investment firm Catamaran Ventures. 
 
Other big Indian business houses with interests in offline retail like Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Retail and the Aditya Birla Group have now begun unfolding their e-commerce plans as an increasing number of Indians shop online, driven in large part by rising smartphone penetration. India's galloping internet user base is now estimated at over 240 million, raising the possibility of it emerging as the world's largest digital commerce market along with China. 
 
Snapdeal has already raised two rounds of funds so far this year, taking total capital raised to about $350 million at a valuation of a billion dollars. Its existing investors include San Jose- based eBay Inc, Singapore's Temasek, BlackRock, PremjiInvest, Intel, Nexus Venture Partners, NEA-IndoUS Venture Partners and Bessemer Venture Partners. 
 
Bahl and schoolmate, Rohit Bansal, both 32, started Snapdeal four years ago as a daily deals site, modelled on GroupOn, later changing it into an online marketplace for merchants to sell their products. Before Snapdeal, the Delhi duo founded Money Saver, a physical coupon book business that offered discounts to consumers across retail outlets. Bahl, who'd returned after graduating from Wharton, and Bansal, armed with an IIT-Delhi degree, later transitioned from a physical format to mobile couponing till the idea of starting a daily-deals site struck them in January 2010. 
 
Snapdeal says it sells about five million products across various categories like apparel, mobiles and electronics with over 25 million subscribers operating on a pure-play online marketplace model. Like Flipkart, it generates over 50% of its orders from mobile phones.

Tata May Invest In E-Tailer Snapdeal

<keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> could soon have to vacate its position as India's numero uno eCommerce portal. Online marketplace <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword> has hit a sales run rate of $3.5 billion this month, known as gross merchandise value (GMV) in e-commerce parlance, bringing it closer to the scale of Flipkart, the country's largest e-tailer. A Snapdeal spokesperson told TOI that sales done by merchants on its platform had risen four times in the current month as compared to the same period last year, propelling the e-tailer's numbers. 
 Backed by <keyword id="6355311" type="COUNTRY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Japan">Japan</keyword>'s <keyword id="280185" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Softbank-Corp">SoftBank Corp</keyword>, Snapdeal fights directly with Bengaluru-based Flipkart which is said to be currently clocking $4.5 billion in GMV (inclusive of Myntra) and <keyword id="18635" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Amazon">Amazon</keyword> which is closing in on the $2-billion mark. GMV is the overall sales done by merchants on an e-commerce platform, without factoring discounts, out of which the e-tailer gets between 5-20% as margin depending on the category which qualifies as its revenue according to The Economic Times. 
 
While talking to TOI, Kunal Bahl, co-founder of the Delhi-based Snapdeal, said the e-tailer had been highly capital efficient while getting to this number having invested a fraction of the funds compared to other players. "Our focus on building apure-play marketplace versus an inventory-led or hybrid business models like others has played a key role in our rapid growth. Also the fact that we didn't always have access to easy capital, ensured that we built a capital efficient cul ure," he told ET. 
 Since 2011, when it pivoted rom being a daily deals site, Snapdeal has been operating as a marketplace. Snapdeal has raised $1.1 billion from more than a dozen investors ike <keyword id="6357395" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="eBay">eBay</keyword> , BlackRock, Temasek among others, while Flipkart has amassed $2.5 billion since it started operations as an online book sellers in 2007. 
 
Even as GMV numbers grow, ecommerce players have been beswith excessive cashburn in the range of $20-30 mil ion per month which has led to he need for constant capital in usion from investors. The bulk of the capital for both the ecommerce majors came last year amid a frenetic fund-raising environment which saw $4 billion flow into Indian consumer internet firms. "We've invested some of the funds on acquisitions, although these were done largely in stocks." 
 The acquisitions will materially enhance buying and selling experiences in our company's ecosystem going forward," Bahl told ET. Snapdeal bought online recharge platform FreeCharge last month for an estimated $400 million along with a string of other acquisitions, 10 in all. Valued at $5 billion, Snapdeal has been aggressively hiring leadership talent within the country and the US, the latest being <keyword id="802" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Gaurav-Gupta">Gaurav Gupta</keyword> as VP-engineering, amid a handful of top-level exits from the company.

<ul><li>Snapdeal added 6 million new buyers on its platform during the pandemic.</li><li>Its recent 5-day sale kicked-off on October 16 and ended on October 20. </li><li>Rajnish Wahi, Senior Vice President, Snapdeal tells us some of the trends the platform saw during its pre-Diwali sale, its plan to go deeper into Bharat and USPs that helped it stand out in the clutter of online sales. </li></ul>Indian consumers have always been value-conscious, who take pride in their haggling skills and with the pandemic, buyers are expecting greater value for their spends. Therefore, e-commerce player Snapdeal’s sale, which took place between October 16 to 20, focused on offering ‘Kum Mein Dum Diwali,’ i.e., value deals for lesser money. According to Snapdeal, less than 5% percent of retail is online and during this on-going <keyword id="36208" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="festive-season">festive season</keyword>, the platform’s aim is to bring more users online and give them strong reasons to switch. Snapdeal observed that consumers weren’t willing to buy premium brands this year and wanted to access the online platforms in their regional language. So, as other e-commerce platforms offered premium brands at a discounted price, Snapdeal wanted to make online shopping more inclusive for buyers across India. It focused more on non-metro cities, which is a market with potential 400 million users and shipped orders to rural places like Palasner in Maharashtra, Abdasa in Gujarat, Kalsi in Uttarakhand, Chitkul in Himachal among many others. Ahead of the sale, Snapdeal added 1300 new pin codes to go deeper into Bharat, areas which were previously unserviceable or where users were compelled to travel to nearby towns to collect their orders. It also updated its user interface by adding eight languages including Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Gujarati, Punjabi, and Marathi. As a result, 70% of its orders were received by sellers located beyond the top 5 metropolitan areas of the country and 90% of its orders were placed from non-metro cities. We caught up with Rajnish Wahi, Senior Vice President, Snapdeal to further understand some of trends that the platform saw during its sale. Excerpts: Q. The role of engagement and communication has never been more important, especially in today’s digital-first world. How are you making sure your communication during this year's sale is relevant to consumers? Snapdeal is sharply focused on catering to the value-conscious consumers, who see e-commerce as the connecting link between their aspirations, access and affordability. Our theme for this year’s festive sale - “Kum Mein Dum Diwali '' clearly communicates our core message - your shopping rupee has more value this year. As part of our sale preparations, we had conducted a survey of nearly 1.25 Lakh users and one of the key insights was user unwillingness to pay for brand premiums this year and instead focus on the functional value of their purchases. Based on these inputs, the festive assortment was expanded in a focused manner by on-boarding additional sellers for popular products like kitchen appliances, kitchenware, bed linen, apparel, footwear and fashion accessories like watches, wallets, etc. Shaping our sale offers around the clearly-stated expectations of our customers and conveying the same unambiguously through our festive promotions and digital marketing is the sum and substance of our festive communication. Q. This year is different. People have been observed to be judicious in spending. How has the consumer sentiment improved? While 2020 has been a volatile year, we see that there are many tailwinds that are propelling our business. The pandemic has resulted in redistribution of demand between offline and online channels, with online gaining share due to its inherent advantages of reach, convenience, large assortment and safety of buying from home. It has also accelerated the familiarity and acceptance of e-commerce amongst new buyers. With the pandemic, consumers have become more price conscious and are likely to opt for lesser-priced products, while not compromising on their quality expectations. Given all of this, we have seen two sets of buyers come on Snapdeal - one which is trading up to a better assortment and one that is trading down and opting for better functional value instead of big brands. In fact, we have added 6 million new buyers on our platform in the pandemic. We are witnessing the return of enthusiasm for festivities and it is also apparent that online channels will be a preferred medium for a larger number of buyers this year. But it will also be different this year, as more people will be price conscious and will look to spend on quality products that suit their price sensibilities. In a way, Snapdeal’s “Kum Me Dum” focus is about “offering more choices at price points better than last year”, especially for popular categories like home &amp; fashion, which has been made possible by year-long focus on expanding our value selection. Q. With the on-going festive season, many other platforms will have their Sales days too. How do you then cut the clutter and make sure you win consumers? How will you be different from the other players in the segment? Snapdeal is synonymous with value e-commerce. While others in the industry are now starting to build a value segment, we at Snapdeal have been focused on “only value” for the last three years. While other platforms are making efforts to sell branded items at discounted prices, these are still not affordable for a majority of the buyers in the country. On the other hand, we are focussed on bringing the depth and diversity of India's bazaars &amp; markets to the doorsteps of our users. On Snapdeal, buyers find endless varieties of regional and local brands that not only serve their needs, but also offer immense value at affordable prices. The result of our “Kum Mein Dum” Diwali sale bears testimony to this - more than 80% of Snapdeal’s Diwali shoppers chose to buy regional &amp; local brands on Snapdeal. The strong growth of lesser-known brands relative to national/international brands has been because of two key reasons: increased choice and a substantial price difference. Our value-focused positioning runs consistently through our selection and communication and is one the reasons why 90% of our orders flow from non-metros cities and towns across the country. Q. What are some of the other trends you are expecting to see this festive? Our first sales results are out and are reflective of how close the lives of users revolve around their homes. The sale in the home products category has grown by 30% over last year and has become the largest category on Snapdeal this year, overtaking the fashion category, which has traditionally been the top-performer at Snapdeal. The growth in the home category is propelled by popular products like kitchen appliances, kitchenware, bed &amp; bath,decor,cleaning equipment, lighting and comforters &amp; blankets etc. This growth in the fitness category reflects the extra time that people have on their hands and also underscores heightened awareness about personal health &amp; fitness. This category has grown by 45% over last year led by gym essentials like tummy trimmers, push-up bars, wrist supports, fitness gloves, hand grip strengtheners etc. Users buying sports equipment like badminton racquets &amp; cricket sets and weighing machines are also strong consumer trends. While the fashion category has also grown from previous years in terms of shipped units, the growth is less than other higher-performing categories. In the fashion category, there is an increased spending on kidswear in the festive season. . Among popular picks in Snapdeal’s Diwali sale are men’s &amp; women’s grooming products, nutritional supplements, religious items (prayer books, temples accessories etc). With the deterioration of air quality in North India, the sale of N95 masks, air-purifier filters, anti-pollution skincare items, skin moisturisers, lip balms has also increased. Snapdeal also witnessed an increase in gifting via e-commerce early in this festive season. The range of festivals starting with Karva Chauth and followed by Dhanteras, Diwali, Bhaiya Dooj and Chhath Puja have become important gifting occasions for users in various parts of the country. While in the previous years, shoppers used e-commerce channels to buy and ship to families &amp; friends in other cities, this year many shoppers in metro cities are also sending gifts to people living in the same cities. This year gift cards have also been hugely popular among people to send to their friends and family, with a 3X surge in orders as compared to the festive sale last year. These included gift cards of travel, entertainment, food and retail brands which were upto 30% off. Q. How are you working towards improving the overall consumer experience? E-Commerce in India has grown beyond the first 100 Mn largely urban, English-speaking users. A market of potentially 400 Mn users is now emerging across India’s smaller non-metro cities. This is a very diverse cohort in terms of languages spoken, literacy levels, frequency of online purchases and familiarity with technology. A large part of Snapdeal’s existing user base and new users come from this cohort and all our focus and efforts are on building the right experience that our users want. That means we work tirelessly to give them a wide array of products to choose from, and at just the right prices they are looking to spend. We also make it easy in many other ways for users to buy on Snapdeal. This includes providing interfaces on our app &amp; m-site in eight Indian languages, so that they can browse through products &amp; transact in a language of their choice. We also enable conversation with our customer service agents in multiple Indian languages. Transaction and promotional messages all are available in many Indian languages. Some other ways, in which we support our users to buy is by helping them make well-informed choices through short 10-second product videos which are far more captivating and help buyers to make decisions faster than static pictures of the products concerned, easy 7-days return, no questions asked refunds policy. We are the only platform that provides uninterrupted access to cash-on-delivery option even during the turbulent early days of pandemic lockdowns. Q. Which are your strongest markets currently? How are you planning to strengthen your presence in other markets? We have a strong pan India presence. During the current sale and consistent with Snapdeal’s positioning, more than 90% of Snapdeal’s orders were placed from non-metro cities. Populous cities like Nagpur, Vijayawada, Surat, Bhopal, Chandigarh, Visakhapatnam, Ranchi, Patna, Guwahati and others continued to drive orders on Snapdeal, but smaller cities like Sagar (Madhya Pradesh), Raniganj &amp; Durgapur (West Bengal), Patiala &amp; Gurdaspur (Punjab), Anand, Bharuch, Una, (Gujarat), Miryalaguda (Andhra Pradesh) and Bhimavaram (Telangana) also clock impressive order volumes. With our recent network expansion, Snapdeal has also shipped orders to rural places like Palasner in Maharashtra, Abdasa in Gujarat, Kalsi in Uttarakhand, Chitkul in Himachal amidst many others. Q. What are your current MAUs? More than 70 million users visit Snapdeal every month to browse and buy from our vast catalogue of 220 million plus listings. Q. What kind of target have you set for this year's sale? Do you anticipate people to buy more, considering a lot of people might have pushed buying things for the festive season? What kind of numbers do you aim to reach this year? Less than five percent of retail is online, which is an incredibly small penetration number. In our view, Diwali or not, our job to bring more buying options for our users doesn’t change. Diwali does serve as a milestone to accelerate some of our related initiatives or build virtual infrastructure to connect the dots between demand and supply in our country. This year, ahead of the festive season, we on-boarded additional sellers of popular products like kitchen appliances, kitchenware, bed linen, apparel, footwear and fashion accessories like watches, wallets, etc., as indicated by our users in a survey. In the run-up to Diwali, Snapdeal also on-boarded 5000 manufacturer-sellers who sell products like water purifiers, choppers &amp; blenders, steel &amp; copper utensils, crockery items, bedsheets, quilts, geysers, etc directly from their manufacturing units. This year, we knew more and more people would be buying online and ahead of the sale, and expanded our network to add 1300 new pin codes to go deeper into areas which were previously unserviceable or where users were compelled to travel to nearby towns to collect their orders, reaching out to 50 million additional users. Today, we are India's leading value-focused marketplace with more than 500,000 registered sellers and we cover 27000 + pin code areas across the length and breadth of the country.

Why Snapdeal targeted non-metro cities and rural India during its pre-Diwali sale

<keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword>’s logistics arm <keyword id="3489561" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="vulcan-express">Vulcan Express</keyword> is on sale and many companies have expressed interest. Companies such as Gati, Peepul Capital, TVS Logistics, etc have shown keen interest to acquire Vulcan Express and the deal may get sealed in coming two months. Reportedly, Snapdeal wants to seal Vulcan Express deal at around Rs 90-120 crore. The deal is expected to provide relief to Snapdeal monetarily as the owners continue to negotiate the deal with <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword>. Interestingly, Snapdeal is now looking for other parties also as exclusivity period with Flipkart for a transaction, which also included sale of Vulcan, ended this month. However, it could be tough. Meanwhile, sources told ET that a potential acquisition of Vulcan Express may be routed by Warburg through one of its portfolio companies in India. This, however, could not be independently verified ET. Vulcan Express, which provides end-to-end logistics services, was formed in 2014 and has nearly one million square feet in warehousing space.

<keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword> has found support from its early investors such as <keyword id="175881" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Nexus-Venture-Partners">Nexus Venture Partners</keyword>, <keyword id="163404" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Softbank">SoftBank</keyword>, etc, backing its decision to go solo. Snapdeal terminated its merger plans with <keyword id="6354742" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Flipkart">Flipkart</keyword> and put its foot down to function as an independent entity. Following the decision, Snapdeal’s early investor Nexus Venture Partners said it would "continue to partner with the company, to help achieve its goals". "Nexus, as a long-term Snapdeal shareholder, fully supports the Snapdeal 2.0 journey," said the firm. Nexus holds nearly 10-11% stake in Snapdeal. SoftBank, which was pushing Snapdeal to merge with Flipkart, too, backed Snapdeal's decision to go solo. However, some of the investors were upset over Snapdeal’s decisions, such as <keyword id="1397792" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kalaari-Capital">Kalaari Capital</keyword>. “I maintain my stand that the decision to terminate the deal was not supported by Kalaari and also reiterate that the deal was called off without prior notice to us," <keyword id="1397790" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vani-Kola">Vani Kola</keyword>, managing director at Kalaari Capital, said in an email response to ET.

Early investors support Snapdeal’s decision, back it to go independent

Online marketplace <keyword id="541988" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="SnapDeal">Snapdeal</keyword> has been on a hiring spree since past few months and it seems the e-Commerce platform is building a second rung of leadership. 
 
Latest to join the bandwagon in Amit Choudhary who has joined Snapdeal as senior Vice President-Corporate Finance. Jasper Infotech, which owns and runs Snapdeal, made the announcement. 
 Choudhary was serving as the regional finance head for <keyword id="6361491" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Procter-Gamble">Procter &amp; Gamble</keyword>’s (P&amp;G) Asia Pet Care business across 14 countries, including, Japan, Greater China and Australia, before joining Snapdeal. 
 
"We believe that with his experience and expertise Amit will propel us further on our growth trajectory with stronger, more efficient and transparent financial planning and management. We welcome him into the family," said co-founder of Snapdeal, Kunal Bahl. 
At Snapdeal, Choudhary will be driving overall controllership in finance, FP&amp;A and taxation at the group level. 
 
"E-Commerce is one of the most dynamic sectors in the country today and Snapdeal has emerged as a leader in this sector. I am very excited to be a part of the young and dynamic Snapdeal family. I look forward to an exciting journey ahead," Choudhary stated in a press release issued by Snapdeal. 
 
Snapdeal had recently appointed former Bharti Airtel senior executive Anand Chandrasekaran as its chief product officer. 
 
In May, Snapdeal named former Cisco and Symantec executive Gaurav Gupta as its vice-president – Engineering, whereas in April, it brought on board former Unilever Plc executive Vivek Patankar as senior vice-president - finance.
