The joint venture will create a world-class electronic manufacturing hub in <keyword id="3658" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="india" source="Orion">India</keyword>, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' vision. All the manufacturing will take place at <keyword id="315784" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="sanmina" source="Orion">Sanmina</keyword>'s 100-acre campus in Chennai, with the ability for site expansion to support future growth opportunities as well as to potentially expand to new manufacturing sites in India over time based on business needs, the companies said in a statement. The day-to-day business will continue to be managed by Sanmina's management team in Chennai. The joint venture will prioritise high technology infrastructure hardware, for growth markets, and across industries such as communications networking (5G, cloud infrastructure, hyperscale data centers), medical and healthcare systems, industrial and cleantech, and defence and aerospace. "In addition to supporting Sanmina's current customer base, the joint venture will create a state-of-the-art 'Manufacturing Technology Center of Excellence' that will serve as an incubation center to support the product development and hardware startup ecosystem in India, as well as promote research and innovation of leading-edge technologies," said the companies. RIL, Sanmina completes JV to build manufacturing hub in India

The bank's total deposits aggregated to ₹189,146 crore, a growth of 10 % over ₹171,995 crore as of September 30, 2021. The Bank's CASA (Current Account,Savings Account) deposits aggregated to ₹ 68,873 crore, a growth of 10.7 % over ₹ 62,191 crore as of September 30, 2021. The CASA ratio reached 36.41 % (Q2 FY23) from 36.16 % (Q2 FY2 2). At OYO, Prakash will lead the operations for teams working specifically for IT and cyber security services. Padariya joins OYO from the Netherlands-headquartered online payment solutions provider PayU, where he had served in a similar role, the statement said. Nothing Android smartphone prototype shown off at Mobile World Congress 2022, says a new report

India are all set to host the South Africa team for the five <keyword id="7389867" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="t20-match-series" source="Orion">T20 match series</keyword>, which will be played across the country in June, shortly after the completion of IPL 2022. The BCCI has already confirmed that the IPL will be held in Mumbai and Pune from March 26 to May 29 and just about 10 days later, the <keyword id="18238" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="t20" source="Orion">T20</keyword> series against Proteas will begin. The Apex Council of the BCCI, which met on Wednesday decided on the schedule for the South Africa series and matches are likely to be held from June 9 to 19. During the meeting, the venues were also finalised and Cuttack, Vizag, Delhi, Rajkot and Chennai will host the matches, an Cricbuzz report said. The report also stated that Bengaluru and Nagpur were to get the games in the series but Cuttack and Vizag have been allotted the matches instead, presumably because the two centres missed out on the T20 matches during recent West Indies series. Notably, the BCCI conducted the six matches against West Indies in only two centres -- Ahmedabad and Kolkata -- with an aim to cut down on travel and Covid-19 threat. The Apex Council has also factored in the weather conditions in the country around June and according to information gathered by the board managers (placed before the meeting), there may be slight rain for the first game in Cuttack (as is the seasonal norm in that part of the world at that time of the year). For the second game in Vizag, there is less chance of rain while warm conditions are expected in the other three centres - Delhi, Rajkot and Chennai - during those games. The Hurun Global Rich List 2022 report ranked a total of 3,381 billionaires from 2,557 companies and 69 countries. The Gautam Adani family, Larry Page and Sergey Brin were the biggest gainers this year. More specifically, Gautam Adani topped the charts, adding ₹6,000 crore (approx. $800 million) to his wealth every week. In total, he added $49 billion to his wealth. Mukesh Ambani made a relatively modest gain of $20 billion, but he remains the richest Indian in the list with a total wealth of $103 billion. Netflix co-founder Reed Hastings announces $1 million donation towards Ukraine relief

US President <keyword id="99719" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Joe-Biden" source="Orion">Joe Biden</keyword> will decide whether to apply or waive sanctions on India, one of America’s key partners, under the CAATSA law for its purchase of the S-400 missile defence system from <keyword id="6358826" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="russia" source="Orion">Russia</keyword>, a senior administration official has told lawmakers. The US administration is required under a domestic law, Countering America’s Adversaries through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) to impose sanctions on any country that has significant transactions with Iran, North Korea or Russia. CAATSA is a tough US law which authorises the administration to impose sanctions on countries that purchase major defence hardware from Russia in response to Russia’s annexation of Crimea in 2014 and its alleged meddling in the 2016 US presidential elections. Responding to a question on possible CAATSA sanctions on India, Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia told members of the Senate Foreign Relations Subcommittee on the Near East, South Asia, Central Asia, and Counterterrorism on Wednesday that it was for the President Biden to decide whether to apply or waive sanctions on India. “I can assure you that the administration will follow the CAATSA law and fully implement that law and will consult with Congress as we move forward with any of them. What unfortunately I am not able to say is to prejudge the decisions of the President or the (Secretary of State) on the waiver issue or on the sanctions issue, or whether Russia’s invasion of <keyword id="6355101" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="ukraine" source="Orion">Ukraine</keyword> will bear on that decision,” he said. Lu said that the Biden administration is yet to decide on applying sanctions on India under CAATSA. “India is a really important security partner of ours now. The senior American diplomat said it is going to be very hard for any country to buy major weapon systems from Russia because of the sweeping sanctions now placed on Russian banks. “What we’ve seen from India in just the last few weeks, is the cancellation of MiG 29 orders, Russian helicopter orders and anti-tank weapon orders,” Lu said. Lu’s remarks came as India faced flak from US lawmakers, both Republicans and Democrats for choosing to abstain from a UN vote on Wednesday to rebuke Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. A total of 141 nations voted in favour of the move condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and five nations were against it, with 35 countries, including India, abstaining. The UNGA resolution was similar to the one circulated in the 15-nation Security Council last Friday, on which also India had abstained. The UNSC resolution, which received 11 votes in favour and three abstentions, was blocked after permanent member Russia exercised its veto. In October 2018, India had signed a USD 5 billion deal with Russia to buy five units of the S-400 air defence missile systems, despite a warning from the then Trump administration that going ahead with the contract may invite US sanctions. The US has already imposed sanctions on Turkey under the CAATSA for the purchase of a batch of S-400 missile defence systems from Russia. Following the US sanctions on Turkey over the procurement of S-400 missile systems, there were apprehensions that Washington may impose similar punitive measures on India. Russia has been one of India’s key major suppliers of arms and ammunition.
