It was one of the first few brands to experiment with TikTok for its campaign ‘Har ghoonth main swag'. During the IPL season, Pepsi became the first brand in India to appoint an 87-year-old Charulata Patel, who has a viral internet star, as its brand ambassador. Through its campaigns, the brand has proven that age is just a number. According to Pepsi, this time too, a 360-degree campaign will be launched in 2020 to ‘reflect the self-confidence of today's youth in a manner that is as effortlessly cool as Salman.’ “We are excited to announce Pepsi’s collaboration with Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. Over the last year, SWAG has been the underlying message throughout Brand Pepsi’s campaigns, celebrating the innate self-belief of the Indian consumer today. Pepsi's Americas Beverage unit, which sells the iconic soda, saw a 10 percent <a href="http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/77476/000144530513000278/pepsico201210-k.htm#s62B6B55FAD81E00099121FA47F555B32">operating profit decline to $2.9 billion in 2012</a>, on a 4.5 percent dollar sales decline to $21.4 billion. That's $1 billion less in sales from 2011, the company reported in its 10-K. The reduction was due in part to a discontinued Mexican business but it included sales declines in North America and in its flagship soda business. (The company, which also has various food divisions, reported an overall sales decline of 1.5 percent to $65.5 billion in 2012.)

Good profits, bad story This is the third installment of the much loved character Chulbul Pandey, a role that catapulted him to a star reviving his then flailing career in 2010. The movie takes viewers back to reveal a secret making it a prequel of sorts. However, the Khan magic might have faded this time, as critics remained unimpressed. They labelled it a “disaster”. “Watching Dabangg 3 it’s clear that the law of diminishing returns has caught up with this franchise. The post was directed at Punjabi singer Gippy Grewal, that said, "You consider Salman Khan a brother, but now it's time for your 'brother' to come and save you," read the Facebook post addressed to Gippy Grewal. "This message is also for Salman Khan - don't be in the illusion that Dawood will save you; no one can save you. Your dramatic response to Sidhu Moose Wala's death did not go unnoticed. "We all know the kind of person he was and the criminal associations he had. You've now landed on our radar. Consider this a trailer; the full film will be released soon. Salman Khan receives threat again; his security reviewed

Bollywood’s Dabbang superstar <keyword id="6354583" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Salman-Khan">Salman Khan</keyword> has been convicted in the 13 year old hit and run case. And this sure ain’t good news for the brands that he endorses. 
	 “This verdict impacts both brand Salman Khan and the brands that he is associated with differently. As far as the brand Salman Khan is concerned, it will definitely be adversely impacted,” said brand expert <keyword id="175362" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Harish-Bijoor">Harish Bijoor</keyword>, CEO of Bijoor Consults. 
	 
	He explained that Khan’s huge fan following will be hit and his hero status will get affected. “A lot of his fans would have really preferred him to own up his mistake in the court of law. Instead, he has tried to fight it legally, which will not be taken down well by many of his followers,” added Bijoor. 
	 
	Talking about his brand endorsements, he feels that the brands he endorses will not be impacted much as consumers are mature and realise that it is advertising. “I see over 90% of the brands moving away from Salman Khan,” averred Bijoor. 
	 However, adman <keyword id="132751" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Naresh-Gupta">Naresh Gupta</keyword>, managing partner with Bang in the Middle feels otherwise. I don’t see the brands dumping Salman Khan immediately, for all of them signed him up knowing fully well that he has cases pending against him. His equity will be impacted in long term, as the news of his sentencing starts to build up. He would have a small phase of sympathy, but it will start to peter out. Long term his equity will definitely take a knock This is not the only case pending, the blackbuck one too is pending,” he said. 
	 It should be noted that currently, Salman Khan has over Rs 200 crore riding on him through his film projects. According to market estimates, his brand endorsements are pegged at nearly Rs 50 crore. “On <keyword id="1432297" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Times-Celebex">Times Celebex</keyword> , Khan is among the top 5, so he has a very strong following. His following in mass market will be even higher looking at how his movies do,” suggested Gupta. 
	 
	As per Times Celebex 2015 list, Salman Khan has the highest box office collections and is also the most searched Bollywood star online. Among the brand endorsements, Salman Khan ranks fifth with 10 brands in his kitty.

You won’t see <keyword id="6354583" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Salman-Khan">Salman Khan</keyword> doing stunts and getting soft drink <keyword id="109079" type="ENTERTAINMENT" weightage="20" keywordseo="Thums-up">Thums Up</keyword> as Coca Cola dropped the Bollywood star as the brand ambassador of Thums Up. 
 Coca Cola is now in talks with <keyword id="106133" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ranveer-Singh">Ranveer Singh</keyword> as it wants someone young to represent its soft drink. 
 The beverages major broke the four year association with Salman Khan, saying Salman Khan was committed to an existing relationship with a daily TV show, which this year was to be sponsored by a brand that competes with the <keyword id="6385848" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Coca-Cola-India">Coca-Cola India</keyword> product portfolio. 
 
"In light of this, both parties have mutually decided not to renew the current contract," the joint statement by Salman Khan and the company said. 
 
A source said that the company is in talks with young star Ranveer Singh to replace Salman. 
 
The company's decision to not to renew the contract with the 50-year-old actor is more to do with the image of Coca Cola, which is seen as a young brand, the source said. 
 
"That explains why Coca Cola is talking to a much younger star like Ranveer Singh," the source added. 
 
Khan has been among the top celebrity endorsers reportedly charging Rs 5 crore per year per brand. Recently, he had courted controversy when he supported Pakistani artists saying "they were not terrorists" in the wake of a debate on whether they should be allowed to work in Indian movies after the Uri attack. 
 
Coca-Cola India had roped in Khan as its brand ambassador for the second time to endorse its Thums Up brand in October 2012 replacing another Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. He had earlier endorsed the brand in early 2000s. 
 
At that time, Coca-Cola India had also signed an agreement with Being Human, The Salman Khan Foundation, to jointly promote, conceive and execute charitable and social activities

Directed by Mahesh Manjrekar, the movie released in cinema houses on November 26. Produced by Salman Khan Films and distributed by Zee Studios, ''Antim'' reportedly earned over Rs 58 crore. In a statement, a spokesperson for Salman Khan Films said the team is looking forward to the digital release of the film on ZEE5. ''The audience gave an overwhelming response to the theatrical release of Antim: The Final Truth. We are happy that they can now watch the film at their convenience and post the success of Radhe, what better platform than ZEE5 to premiere it,'' the spokesperson said. ''Antim'' narrates the story of two individuals with differing ideologies who belong to two divergent worlds, leading to a nail-biting finale. Excitingly, Priyanka Chopra is leading the race with a monthly search volume of more than 4.2 million, however, Salman Khan has over 2 million monthly searches. The study has two segments bifurcated into Indian actors and actresses. Considering segments individually, the top three most popular actors are Salman Khan, Amrish Puri and Shahrukh Khan. The latter two were searched an average of 1.7 million times respectively. On the other hand, Priyanka Chopra, Sunny Leone, and Deepika Padukone are the leading ladies on the list.
