New Delhi, Apr 7 () Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju on Tuesday reviewed the initiatives undertaken by his ministry and Sports Authority of India (SAI) to keep the athletes engaged in the wake of the 21-day nation-wide lockdown due to COVID-19 pandemic.<p> Rijiju held a meeting with regional directors of all SAI centres across the country through a video conference call and took a stock of the situation. He also deliberated upon measures needed to be taken once the lockdown is lifted.</p><p> Barring SAI South Centre, Bengaluru, where both the national men's and women's hockey teams are currently based and National Institute of Sports, Patiala, where a few athletes are still there, all other centres are vacant.</p><p> "The Minister held a review meeting off regional directors of all SAI centres in the presence of top SAI and Sports Ministry officials via video conference. The meeting was held to take a brief about what these centres are doing to keep the athletes morale high and keep them engaged," a SAI official told .</p><p> "The Minister also took feedbacks from SAI, Bengaluru and NIS Patiala centres on the steps they have taken to follow the lockdown guidelines in their premises as these are two centres where athletes are currently present. Athletes and coaches of all other centres have gone home," the official added.</p><p> Rijiju also reviewed the measures taken by all SAI centres to keep the athletes motivated and engaged in this difficult times.</p><p> "The Minister wanted to know from all the SAI centres how they are making maximum use of the lockdown period. Everyday, it is mandatory for all SAI athletes to connect with their coaches online so that they can monitor their training and physical fitness," the official said.</p><p> The athletes are also required to follow the live sessions of SAI everyday, where experts speak on various aspects of sports, including physical fitness, nutrition etc.</p><p> The SAI centres are also required to use this lockdown period to enhance their knowledge on various aspects, the official said.</p><p> The meeting was also attended by SAI Director General Sandip Pradhan, Sports Secretary Radhey Shyam Julaniya amaong other top officials.</p><p> The meeting also deliberated upon the way forward once the lockdown is lifted.</p><p> "The SAI and Ministry officials are constantly in touch with office-bearers of National Sports Federations (NSFs) and are discussing ways to rejig the Olympic preparation plans after the lockdown."</p><p> The Sports Minister also took to his official twitter handle to highlight the topics discussed in the meeting.</p><p> "All athletes who are home are connecting with coaches on digital platform every day to ensure training isn't hampered 2) athletes, coaches are enhancing knowledge with SAI's live sessions with experts. #IndiaFightsCorona," Rijiju's office tweeted.</p><p> "At the review meeting chaired by @kirenrijiju with senior SAI officials, he was briefed that elite athletes are being monitored by TOPS team for 1) How they are maintaining weight 2) How they are staying connected to their coach, nutritionist, strength and conditioning experts."</p><p> Rijiju also congratulated all athletes for following the lockdown guidelines.</p><p> "In the video conference with all regional directors of SAI to review arrangements for athletes @KirenRijiju congratulates atheletes for following strict discipline and the rules of the lockdown. <p>Filipowski couldn't have known in 2003 that the name Silk Road would be usurped by the black market. But it doesn't look like the association has hurt the company any.</p>

New Delhi, Mar 13 () Fair trade regulator CCI has asked Bengal Chemists and Druggists Association (BCDA), its two district committees, Alkem Laboratories and Macleods Pharmaceuticals to refrain from indulging in anti-competitive business practices.<p> The district committees are Murshidabad District Committee and Burdwan District Committee.</p><p> In a press release, CCI said it has passed an order against the entities for violating provisions of the Competition Act by involving in anti-competitive business practices.</p><p> The Competition Commission of India (CCI) found that pharmaceutical companies -- Alkem Laboratories and Macleods Pharmaceuticals-- had an anticompetitive agreement with BCDA.</p><p> CCI noted that BCDA used to mandate pharmaceutical companies in some districts of West Bengal to ask their new stockists to obtain a stock availability information (SAI) / no objection certificate from BCDA before supply of drugs can be commended to them and used to collect monetary considerations for issuance of SAI through its district committees.</p><p> Also, the promotion cum distributor agents of pharma companies had to obtain product availability information from BCDA after paying money to the association in the form of donations to start marketing drugs of their respective pharma companies in West Bengal.</p> Since BCDA has taken several steps to stop the practice of requiring NOC/ SAI and Alkem and Macleods have filed the plea before the Commission that they were indulging in such conduct under threat from BCDA, CCI has "decided not to impose any monetary penalty on the erring entities." <p>Delaware's Democratic senator, Tom Carper, <a href="http://www.hsgac.senate.gov/media/majority-media/chairman-carper-statement-on-the-unveiling-of-the-so-called-silk-road-20-website">issued the following statement</a> surrounding the relaunch of Silk Road:</p>
<p>"[It] underscores the inescapable reality that technology is dynamic and ever-evolving and that government policy needs to adapt accordingly. Rather than play 'whack-a-mole' with the latest website, currency, or other method criminals are using in an effort to evade the law, we need to develop thoughtful, nimble and sensible federal policies that protect the public without stifling innovation and economic growth."</p>

Silk Road Users Are 'Cautiously Optimistic' About Silk Road 2.0

<p>But Ulbricht's lawyer, Josh Dratel, maintains that Ulbricht simply has no involvement whatsoever.</p>
<p>"He's a regular person, a loyal friend...someone who has never been in trouble." <a href="http://bigstory.ap.org/article/lawyer-ny-silk-road-case-feds-have-wrong-man">Dratel told AP</a>. "We're denying the charges against him," he said.</p>
<p>This seems to jibe with what <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/SilkRoad/comments/1q04af/some_info_from_a_friend_of_ross_found_through/">some Reddit users uncovered on Facebook</a>. Silk Road Lawyer: The Feds Arrested The Wrong Man

<p><keyword id="621419" type="COMPANY" weightage="60" keywordseo="Silk-Road">Silk Road</keyword>, the anonymous marketplace notorious as a location to buy and sell drugs online, is back up and running today.</p>
<p>The libertarians and drugs vendors who patronize the site would like you to know that you can't kill an idea, so they're back at it after the Feds shut down the site earlier this year and arrested its operator, Ross Ulbricht.</p>
<p>The new owner of the site is, of course, staying anonymous. But he or she is using the same "Dread Pirate Roberts" alias that Ulbricht used and is <a href="https://twitter.com/DreadPirateSR">tweeting the occasional update on the status of the newly relaunched site</a>. (The "joke" here, which originates from the movie The Princess Bride, is that the name "Dread Pirate Roberts" is itself just a name used by multiple generations of different pirates.)</p>

<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">Not a physical newspaper, of course - the SR Courier, as it's being called, would run online and feature stories relevant to the Silk Road marketplace and community.</span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">The effort is being spearheaded by the pseudonymous user <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raoul_Duke">Raoul Duke</a>, who suggests that the paper could have regular features like horoscopes, opinion pieces, scammer alerts to prevent users from getting ripped off, and tales of above and beyond service from SR merchants.</span></p>
<p><span style="line-height: 1.5em;">This is still in the works as users figure out how/what a Silk Road "newspaper" should be. The consensus seems to be generally positive, however. <a href="http://www.reddit.com/r/SilkRoad/comments/1qqel1/new_sr_newspaper/cdgykyc">Here's</a> what one user says he likes about it:</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">In my opinion, one of the best things about [starting a newspaper] is the chance that it has to show all of the suburban squares that being labeled a "crook" is not synonymous with being the bogeyman; in fact, it turns out that these so-called Silk Road villains are intelligent, creative, and compassionate (and that's just for starts).
