Due to Torrent's legal challenge, the Administrator will file an application for deadline extension in the NCLT Mumbai on Monday, January 16. NCLT Mumbai will resume hearing in the Reliance Capital resolution matter on Monday. In the hearing on Thursday, January 12, senior counsel <keyword id="30182" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="kapil-sibal" source="Orion">Kapil Sibal</keyword> appearing for RCAP's COC informed the court that the bid submitted by Torrent is non-compliant. Sibal said that COC found a discrepancy in the Resolution Plan of Torrent. The financial proposal submitted by the company in the draft resolution proposal does not match the highest bid amount submitted by them in the challenge mechanism. Sibal said that after the Administrator wrote to Torrent on January 4, and after that Torrent changed its entire bid on January 6. Sibal said that Torrent does not even meet the threshold of the third round of the Challenge Mechanism. Therefore, it is non-compliant in the third round itself, and could not have participated in the fourth round. Torrent's bid in the second round was only Rs 7,500 crore, which should be the final bid by the company, while IIHL's (Hinduja) all-cash bid of Rs 8,110 crore in the third round is higher than Torrent's offer of Rs 7,500 crore. In addition, Hinduja's IIHL is offering additional upfront cash of Rs 900 crore, over and above its bid of Rs 8,110 crore, to the lenders, and this higher realisation can not be denied to the lenders, including <keyword id="6367143" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="lic" source="Orion">LIC</keyword> and EPFO. New Year's resolutions are kind of outdated

One is the fulfillment of the resolution. The other is the making of a resolution (i.e., just saying out loud: "This year I will work out at least twice a week").The idea is that spending time thinking of what it is you want to accomplish (even if you don't manage to actually do it) serves a purpose: It elevates a buried thought into working memory. It will actually be in your mind more later. There's <a href="https://science.sciencemag.org/content/290/5490/350.full">neuroscience research</a> on dreams suggesting that if you elevate a plan or mental activity into your working memory repeatedly, it's likely to emerge in your dreams and help your brain 'simulate' the experience fully, so that your brain makes concrete plans on how to execute it.To make resolutions you'll follow through with, start by choosing realistic ones. Here are a couple of easy steps to do this:1. Keep a diary of your resolutionsIf you had a note on your resolutions from last year now, you'd be able to look at it and see how true you were to your 2020 ones. Granted, this was an unusual year...so maybe not achieving some of your plans shouldn't be held against you. But the point is that you should keep a tab and evaluate yourself annually. You'll be able to see how realistic you were before and how close you were to reaching your goals. Once you know the answer, you can adjust this year's resolutions accordingly.2. Make your resolutions with someone elseResearch, specifically on <a href="https://journals.lww.com/nsca-jscr/fulltext/2014/07000/Effect_of_Supervised,_Periodized_Exercise_Training.25.aspx">exercise</a> and <a href="https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1002/wcs.1184">group decision-making</a>, shows people make more realistic plans and live up to them when they're made with others. If you make resolutions with others, you're likely to already correct each other for your "true identity." Alone, you might say, "Yeah, I can save an additional $1,000 a month," but if you loop in a partner or friend, they might remind you of some forgotten expenses and help you arrive at a more realistic savings goal.3. Rank your resolutions from most to least importantMake your list, pick only the top two, and write them as your 2021 resolutions. If you realize in December 2021 that you managed to accomplish both, next year you get to choose four. If you didn't, next year you only get one. If your resolutions are large, such as reading 30 books before the end of the year, break them into smaller, tangible sub-resolutions and see if you accomplish those (i.e., read two new books in January).4. Ask your friends what their resolutions were last yearThen ask yourself if you would have accomplished theirs had those been yours. This way you'll have a mini internal simulation of how good you are, generally, in accomplishing the type of things other people try to do in a year. You will know your friends' circumstances, the type of journeys this year brought on you/them, and how things went for you/them. This made-up simulation will force your brain to visualize the challenges, potential obstacles, and how you would overcome them. Keep an honest tab on yourselfTurns out a lot of people make resolutions and either "forget" them or amend them. But if you have a note with the original resolution pinned to your fridge, it's hard to tell yourself that the weekly walk is meeting your "work out every other day" goal. If your resolutions are more private/intimate and you don't want them on the public fridge, put them in a place that's secure, but one that you encounter frequently.2. Evaluate the resolution every quarterA year is a long time. If you only visit your resolutions annually, you'll have too few chances for correction (and our brain doesn't do a good job in thinking far into the future). Check how you're doing every three months, and see if there are ways to adjust or improve your plan.3. Choose a realistic accountability mechanismThere are two methods you can use. First, 'the carrot': Find a person you trust to be honest with you and tell them what your resolution is. Then ask them to help you make it happen, while finding a way - in advance - to tie a reward to them with your success (i.e., if you manage to get the pilot license that you wanted, they get to go with you on the first flight). This will incentivize others to facilitate things for you. Or, use 'the stick': For example, find something that you really do not like and create a related money-order that gets executed automatically on December 31, 2021, if you do not accomplish it. If you are, say, a Cubs fan, put money for donation to the Cardinals charity. Come December 31, 2021, if you managed to live up to the resolution, you can stop the transaction. Otherwise, you will see the money going to the team/cause you dislike.The point is that hopefully seeing money being drawn from your account on December 31, 2021 will drive you to make realistic resolutions for 2022.Where I used to live in Los Angeles, there was a gym that asked people who signed up by December 31 to pay $700 upfront for the year. Every day you showed up to the gym you got $2 back. If you ended up going every day you would have earned your $700 back, plus $30 extra, which seems like a great deal. Basketball teams tend to play worse in the third quarter of a game unless the coach manages specifically for that period. How to set realistic New Year's resolutions and actually stick to them in 2021, according to a neuroscientist

<ul><li><keyword id="6355629" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="google" source="Orion">Google</keyword> has introduced AI-based models to improve the quality of low-resolution images.</li><li>The two diffusion models can generate high fidelity images.</li><li>These models have plenty of applications, including the improvement of medical imaging systems.</li></ul>Google has released AI-based image upscaling technology that is said to enhance the quality of low-resolution images. In <a href="https://ai.googleblog.com/2021/07/high-fidelity-image-generation-using.html">a post on Google’s AI</a> blog, the researchers from <a href="https://research.google/teams/brain/">Brain Team</a> introduced two diffusion models to generate high fidelity images. The two models are image super-resolution (SR3) and cascaded diffusion models (CDM). What is Image Super-Resolution? First of this model is the image Super-Resolution via Repeated Refinement or SR3. This method is defined by the research team as “a super-resolution diffusion model that takes as input a low-resolution image, and builds a corresponding high-resolution image from pure noise.” To implement it, the machine uses a process of image corruption where noise is consistently added to a high-resolution image until only pure noise remains. It then reverses the process that removes the noise and reaches a target distribution “through the guidance of the input low-resolution image.” <div type="image" title="Super Resolution results" msid="85788856" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Super Resolution results&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Some of the results shown by Google’s research team are impressive and showcases how this method can be used to effectively improve the image quality of low-resolution images. As per the post, the super-resolution can have multiple applications that include enhancing the existing medical imaging systems and restoring old family portraits. Cascaded Diffusion Models (CDM) Once the SR3 model had shown effectiveness, the Brain Team used the model for class-conditional image generation. CDM is explained by the researchers as “ a class-conditional diffusion model trained on ImageNet data to generate high-resolution natural images.” As per the post, Google built CDM as “a cascade of multiple diffusion models” since ImageNet was a difficult, high-entropy dataset. The model is a combination of multiple diffusion models that can generate images of increasing resolution. With the introduction of these models, Google is looking to improve the natural image synthesis that has wide-ranging applications but poses design challenges. "With SR3 and CDM, we have pushed the performance of diffusion models to the state-of-the-art on super-resolution and class-conditional ImageNet generation benchmarks," the researchers wrote in the blog post. What's the secret to sticking to your <keyword id="1215077" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="New-Years-resolutions">New Year's resolutions</keyword>?
Jennifer Dulski, president and COO of social action platform <a href="http://www.change.org/" target="_blank">Change.org</a>, thinks the trick is in the type of resolutions you make. In a <a href="http://www.linkedin.com/today/post/article/20131231011252-407452-how-to-make-a-new-year-s-resolution-you-ll-actually-keep?trk=tod-posts-post1-ptlt" target="_blank">recent post for LinkedIn</a>, Dulski outlines the two qualities she sees as essential to making resolutions that she'll actually keep.
First, Dulski says she always makes her resolutions to help someone else. "For my resolutions to work, they couldn't be about me," she explains. "I stepped back and realized what was most important to me in my life were my relationships with others - my family, my friends, and my colleagues. If I could make the people I care about happier by making small changes in my own behavior, it would make me happier as well."
Second, she committed to making resolutions that were simple enough for her to follow them consistently. For example, in past years she's committed to closing drawers and cabinets all the way (it drove her husband nuts when she didn't) and to telling her daughters that she loved watching them dance.
"I focused on small, easy things that I knew I would be able to do (or not do) on a regular basis," Dulski writes. "Small actions can make a big difference to others around you, especially if you know the pet peeves that bother them or the small things that can really make their day and focus your attention on those areas."

The Economist puts together a great "Books of the Year" list, but I'll get you started with "The Private Life of Chairman Mao."

5. Take an online course. Why continue talking hollowly about self-improvement when leading colleges and graduate schools, including Duke, Wharton, and MIT, are investing significant resources into free education. Ironically, statistics have shown that it tends to be the better-educated and wealthier who take advantage of this. But, who among us couldn't benefit from knowing more about accounting, marketing, child psychology, or real estate and contract law?
6. Watch "The Sopranos" from start to finish. Even if you've already seen it.
7. Freshen up the starting lineup in your wardrobe. Go get 2 new suits, 10 dress shirts, 2 pair of jeans, 2 pair of shoes, and 50 pair of socks. Maybe <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-dress-the-part-on-wall-street-2013-8">this guide</a> will help. Why? For the same reason that Michael Jordan wore a brand-new pair of shoes every single game.
8. Avoid extreme and unrealistic health pledges. Eat right, exercise sensibly, and drink mostly in moderation; it's not rocket science.

Not everyone is gung-ho about making New Year's resolutions on the 31st of December.
Some struggle with coming up with goals, while others simply denounce the tradition.
But not&#xa0;Nassim Taleb.
The famed "<a href="http://www.amazon.com/Black-Swan-Improbable-Robustness-Fragility/dp/081297381X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&amp;qid=1420031335&amp;sr=8-2&amp;keywords=black+swan">Black Swan</a>"&#xa0;tweeted <a href="https://twitter.com/nntaleb/status/550273244289585152">a first draft of his resolutions</a> for 2015.

<li>Call someone who has no friends, just to say hello, letting the person know that you do not need him/her. Have coffee with lonely people twice a month.</li>
<li>Do not read more than one new book a week - if needed re-read (and read no book you wouldn't reread.) Do not do write more than two hours a day. Walk two hours every day regardless of weather. Do not go the gym more than 5 times in any given month and/or do not spend more than 30 minutes per visit.</li>
<li>Fast one day every week on average. Eat meat only on festivals, but then splurge.</li>
<li>Respect the janitor more than the chairman and respect those who respect the janitor more than the chairman.</li>
<li>Do not read the latest breakthrough experiment in psychology about, say,&#xa0;the effect of taking cold showers on grammatical ability. Better even read nothing about these "experiments."</li>
<li>Read no book written by, or co-authored with, a journalist.</li>
<li>Pick a lobbyist (preferably Monsanto/GMO) or some economist harmful to the collective and make life miserable for him, especially if the reaction entails some personal and reputational risks for you.</li>
<li>Give to someone who need money but doesn't ask for it while finding an excuse to preserve his/her dignity.</li>
<li>Use courage and wisdom, not labor, to make money.</li>
<li>In the end realize that you are only as valuable as the risks you are taking for the sake of the collective.</li>
