Vandana (4th, 17th, 49th minutes) achieved a rare feat by becoming the first Indian woman hockey player to score a hat-trick in the history of the Olympics. Young Neha Goyal (32nd) was the other goal getter as the Rani Rampal-led side registered its second consecutive win at the Games. South Africa's goals came from the sticks of Tarryn Glasby (15th), skipper Erin Hunter (30th) and Marizen Marais (39th). With two wins from their final two pool matches, India have finished the group stages with six points from five games. By virtue of this win, India have jumped to the fourth position in Pool A, but Ireland still have a chance to leapfrog the Indians. India's fate now depends on the outcome of the last Pool A match between Great Britain and Ireland. The Indians will have to wait till the evening to know their fate. A Ireland loss or a draw will be enough for India to seal their place in the quarterfinals. The top four teams from each pool will qualify for the knockout round. Needing a win to stay alive in the competition, the Indians meant business and pressed hard on the South African defence from the start. In doing so, India secured two penalty corners in the first two minutes of the match but dragflicker Gurjit Kaur's poor execution continued in the tournament. Still it didn't take India long to open their account and in the fourth minute, Vandana gave her side the lead, tapping in from close range after being set up by Navneet Kaur's great run from the right flank. India kept up the pressure and penetrated the South African circle many times without much success. But seconds from the end of first quarter, a lapse in concentration from the defence cost India dearly as South Africa drew level through Tarryn Glasby, who deflected in a long shot from Taryn Mallett. India had enough time to regain their lead through a penalty corner but wasted the opportunity. Two minutes into the second quarter, Vandana restored India's lead when he deflected in Deep Grace Ekka's flick from their fourth penalty corner. The Indians had three more chances to extend their lead in the second quarter but they couldn't do so. The Rani Rampal-led side got two more penalty corners which they wasted, and then, Neha Goyal's effort from open play was saved by the South Africa goalkeeper. Just like in the first quarter, India gave away their lead seconds away from half time when Hunter found the net from her team's first penalty corner. Two minutes after the change of ends, Neha restored the lead again, deflecting in a Rani hit from a penalty corner as the Indians executed a fine variation. The fragile Indian defence wilted under pressure once again, when South Africa drew level for the third time in the match, through a Marais strike. South Africa enjoyed a good run of play in the initial minutes of final quarter and, in the process, secured three penalty corners quickly, but this time the Indian defence did enough to thwart the dangers. In the 49th minute, a brilliant Vandana saved the day for India when she deflected in Gurjit Kaur's flick from another penalty corner. Thereafter, the Indians fell back and looked contend to keep the possession as South Africa pressed hard. The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has pointed out that many renowned <keyword id="143" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> actors haven’t complied with service tax norms when receiving payments from producers. The list of actors include <keyword id="6354583" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Salman-Khan">Salman Khan</keyword>, <keyword id="6357861" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Ranbir-Kapoor">Ranbir Kapoor</keyword>, Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh and <keyword id="2180" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Arjun-Rampal">Arjun Rampal</keyword> and the revenue skipped is more than Rs 50 crore. "During the examination of records of Salman Khan, Arjun <keyword id="2182" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="rampal">Rampal</keyword>, Ritesh <keyword id="6359159" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vilasrao-Deshmukh">Vilasrao Deshmukh</keyword> and Vishal (Ajay) <keyword id="32994" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="devgan">Devgan</keyword> in in the Mumbai service tax commissionerates, we observed from the agreements between producer and actors that the producers, being service recipients, agreed to provide for and bear expenses relating to arrangement of the services for travel, lodging and boarding of the make-up artist, hair stylist and spot boy ," the ET learnt from reports. The auditor duly noted that these services fall in the ambit of additional consideration directly and inextricably linked to the services provided by assesses. Non-inclusion of the additional consideration during 2013-14 to 2015-16 resulted in non-payment of service tax by the actors. When this was pointed out to the service tax aut horities, the department said it has issued show cause notice to Deshmukh and notices were being issued in the case of Devgn and Rampal. "Reply in the case of Salman Khan was awaited," CAG observed, according to ET report. In case of actor Ranbir Kapoor, the CAG said, "We noticed two instances where for the same film shot in India and abroad, the payment to artist for the portion shot abroad was arranged from foreign companies, thereby the service was made to look as export of service with no tax liability." "Ranbir Kapoor acted in the movie ' Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' produced by <keyword id="4854211" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="dharma-productions-pvt-ltd">Dharma Productions Pvt Ltd</keyword>, shot both in India and New York. He received a consideration of Rs 6.75 crore from a foreign company , ADHM Films Ltd., (UK) based in London for film shot in UK and did not pay service tax of Rs 83.43 lakh treating the same as export of services," the auditor pointed out.

These Bollywood stars didn't pay service tax amounting to revenue loss of Rs 50 crore

 It is noteworthy that last weeks’ releases – <keyword id="2528710" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hawaizaada">Hawaizaada</keyword> and <keyword id="1119087" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Khamoshiyan">Khamoshiyan</keyword> – too could not cash register ringing. However, Baby, which is currently in its third week, is still holding to its ground. The movie has managed to collect around Rs 89.60 crore from ticket sales in India. It may not be able to make its presence felt in the Rs 100-crore club, but it has still managed to cover good ground so far. 
 Now our eyes are on Roy, which stars <keyword id="2180" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Arjun-Rampal">Arjun Rampal</keyword>, Jacqueline Fernandez and Ranbir Kapoor in the leading roles. As the movie is releasing just before Valentine’s Day, we expect it to have a good opening, which might end the current dry spell of Bollywood. The songs of this movie are already getting noticed, so that should be another plus for this movie.

As per a source, Akshay is expected to start shooting for the fifth installement from January 15, 2024 in London. Starring <keyword id="2823" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Akshay-Kumar" source="Orion">Akshay Kumar</keyword> and Riteish Deshmukh along with other actors, the film is all set to be released during Diwali in 2024. In June this year, Akshay announced the fifth instalment of his hit comedy franchise 'Housefull'. Taking to Instagram, Akshay shared a poster of '<keyword id="8370870" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Housefull-5" source="Orion">Housefull 5</keyword>' captioning it, "Get ready for FIVE times the madness!. Bringing to y'all #SajidNadiadwala's #Housefull5 Directed by @tarun_mansukhani. See you in cinemas on Diwali 2024!" 'Housefull 5' marks the first-ever franchise film in Indian Cinema to have five installments.The first part of 'Housefull' was released in the year 2010 and starred Akshay, Riteish, Lara Dutta, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Rampal and Boman Irani. The film was declared a hit, followed by another hit sequel 'Housefull 2' which was released in the 2012 and included a stellar cast of Akshay, Ritiesh, John Abraham, Shreyas Talpade, Jacqueline Fernandez, Rishi Kapoor, Randhir Kapoor, Mithun Chakraborty and Asin. Both parts were helmed by director Sajid Khan. Sajid was replaced in the third instalment of the film by director duo Sajid Samji and Farhad Samji. The film was released in 2016. Director Farhad Samji helmed the fourth part of the franchise which was a reincarnation comedy film. The fifth part will be helmed by Tarun Mansukhani. Sajid Nadiadwala is producing it. (ANI)

Akshay Kumar to start shooting for 'Housefull 5' in January 2024

<ul><li>India's senior <keyword id="6362179" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="hockey">hockey</keyword> players, who are unable to train because of the coronavirus-forced lockdown, will undergo a basic coaching course online starting Monday.</li><li>The course will be attended by 32 senior men and 23 senior women core probables on May 11 and 15 respectively. </li><li>Captain of the Indian women's team Rani Rampal has already attended the Hockey India coaching education pathway in the past and achieved a Hockey India Level 1 Coach Certification.</li></ul>India's senior hockey players, who are unable to train because of the coronavirus-forced lockdown, will undergo a basic coaching course online starting Monday, continuing the national federation's efforts to ensure that their time is put to productive use. The course will be attended by 32 senior men and 23 senior women core probables on May 11 and 15 respectively. Captain of the Indian women's team Rani Rampal has already attended the Hockey India coaching education pathway in the past and achieved a Hockey India Level 1 Coach Certification. "The Hockey India Level Basic Coaching Course will help them in broadening their understanding of the sport as it will give them a chance to view the sport from a coach's perspective," the HI said in a statement. "The core probables who will successfully clear the Hockey India Level 'Basic' Coaching Course will be eligible to attend the Hockey India Level '1' Coaching Course in the future, thereby paving the way for their development, not just as athletes, but as potential coaches as well," it added. The HI Level 'Basic' Coaching Course is part of a meticulously-designed coaching programme, known as Hockey India Coaching Education Pathway which was launched in 2019. The core probables will get 36 hours to review their online sessions and then clear an online assessment examination which will be based on the latest FIH Rules and Regulations. Expressing his delight at providing this opportunity to the players, HI President Mohd Mushtaque Ahmad said, "...we decided it would be appropriate to provide them with an opportunity to understand coaching through our Hockey India Coaching Education Pathway. "I am quite confident that the athletes will be able to gain knowledge about the intricacies of Coaching, and will get some essential insights and a fresh perspective of ways to understand the sport better." Senior hockey players to undergo coaching course online amid lockdown

Bengaluru, May 4 () The Indian women's hockey team has raised funds to the tune of Rs 20 lakh to help in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The Indian team raised the money thorough an 18-day fitness challenge, which concluded on May 3 and resulted in raising Rs 20, 01,130. The funds have been donated to Delhi-based NGO Uday Foundation. The funds will be used to provide basic necessities for patients at various locations, migrant workers and slum dwellers. "The response we have received was really overwhelming. People, especially Indian hockey lovers from across the globe took part in the challenge and contributed to the cause. "On behalf of the Indian Women Team, I would like to thank everyone who took part in this initiative to help the poor," India skipper Rani Rampal said. The challenge involved the team members who came up with different fitness tasks that ranged from burpees, lunges, squats to spider-man pushups, pogo hops and more. Each day a player gave a new challenge and tagged 10 people on their social media handles to take up the challenge and donate Rs 100 to the fundraiser. AT BSBS

Indian women's hockey team raises Rs 20 lakh to help people affected by COVID-19

New Delhi, Jan 22 () Power Mech Projects on Wednesday announced that it has bagged orders worth Rs 351 crore from state-owned Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Jaiprakash Power Ventures.
 In a filing to BSE, the company said that it has "received letter of award/work orders for....civil and architectural works of all buildings structures and associated works... for 2x660 mw Maitree Rampal Project, Bangladesh... for a total contract price of Rs 211 crore awarded by BHEL."
 The project is to be completed in 20 months, the filing said.
 The company said that it has also received work order for operation and maintenance services for 1320 mw Jaypee Nigrie Super Thermal Power Plant at Nigrie, Madhya Pradesh, for a period of five years for a total contract price of Rs 140 crore awarded by Jaiprakash Power Ventures.
 The shares of Power Mech Projects were trading at Rs 729.60 apiece on BSE in morning trade, up 1.62 per cent from the previous close. SID ANS
