<ul><li><keyword id="46577" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hero-group" source="Orion">Hero Group</keyword> and <keyword id="6354544" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="kkr" source="Orion">KKR</keyword> have announced a $450 million investment in the company's renewable energy arm, <keyword id="7029" type="General" weightage="100" keywordseo="hero" source="Orion">Hero</keyword> Future Energies.</li><li>Post this investment, <keyword id="2951983" type="General" weightage="80" keywordseo="hfe" source="Orion">HFE</keyword> is valued at $1 billion.</li><li>HFE currently has an operational renewable energy capacity of 1.6 GW and operates in five countries apart from India.</li></ul> Hero Group and American private equity firm KKR have announced an investment of $450 million (approx. ₹3,600 crore) in Hero Future Energies (HFE), the renewable energy arm of the company. Hero Future Energies is a 10-year-old company and has presence across India, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Singapore, Ukraine and the UK. It offers a wide range of renewable energy technologies, ranging from solar, wind, battery storage, and green hydrogen. It currently has 1.6 GW of solar and wind power projects operational. “HFE’s clean energy solutions play an important role in helping companies decarbonize as energy demands continue to grow. We look forward to working closely with HFE’s management team and existing investors, including the Hero Group and IFC, to help HFE achieve its next phase of growth and contribute to the energy transition efforts in India and globally,” said <keyword id="201167" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="hardik-shah" source="Orion">Hardik Shah</keyword>, partner at KKR. KKR is not the first to invest in HFE – earlier, International Finance Corporation, and Abu Dhabi Future Energy (also known as Masdar) together picked up a 20% stake in HFE for $150 million, valuing the company at $750 million. KKR’s investment raises HFE’s valuation to $1 billion. “With this investment, Hero Future Energies will work to accelerate India’s energy transition and contribute to the Indian government's target of generating half the country’s power from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030,” said <keyword id="290686" type="General" weightage="50" keywordseo="rahul-munjal" source="Orion">Rahul Munjal</keyword>, chairman and managing director of HFE. Since 2011, KKR has invested over $15 billion in various companies in the renewable energy sector, with an operational capacity of 23 GW at the end of 2021. Hero Group, KKR to invest $450 million in Hero Future Energies

New Delhi, India's top billionaires, including Gautam Adani and Sunil Bharti Mittal, mega stars from film industry such as Amitabh Bachchan and Shahrukh Khan and cricketing icons from Sachin Tendulkar to M S Dhoni are among those invited for pre-wedding celebrations of Mukesh Ambani's youngest son, Anant early next month. Ahead of the wedding ceremony in July, guests from around the world have been invited to three-day pre-wedding festivities beginning March 1, at Gujarat's Jamnagar, which houses Ambani's mega oil refineries. Global Indian Leaders of The Year 2023 as per World Brand Affairs

<ul><li>With their sales being hit, the Indian business community which has so far been an active supporter of the Indian government, has been raising its voices.</li><li><keyword id="6359432" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="britannia">Britannia</keyword>’s MD Varun Berry said there is some serious issue in the economy.</li><li>He’s not alone, leaders from the auto industry have raised their concerns as the segment is witnessing its worst sales slowdown.</li></ul>Questions are being raised by top Indian businessmen about the economic health of the country. The latest one to cry foul is fast moving consumer goods company Britannia. In the <a href="https://www.dnaindia.com/business/report-consumers-thinking-twice-before-buying-a-rs-5-pack-britannia-2781047">latest earnings call</a> of Britannia, the company’s MD Varun Berry raised some serious concerns about the <keyword id="6356076" type="DEFINITION" weightage="20" keywordseo="indian-economy">Indian economy</keyword>. "We've grown only 6% and the market is growing slower than that. And that's a little bit of a worry, because even for a ₹5 product if the consumer is thinking twice before buying it, then there is some serious issue in the economy,” he said. This comes in even though Britannia holds one-third of market share in the Indian biscuit industry. With their sales hit, the Indian business community which has so far been an active supporter of the Indian government, has been raising its voices. India’s GDP has slumped to 6.8% in FY19, whereas <a href="https://www.businesstoday.in/current/economy-politics/india-economy-9-per-cent-gdp-growth-pm-modi-5-trillion-dollar-economy-target-ey/story/370433.html">analysts </a>say that for India to reach its dream of being a $5 trillion economy, the country’s GDP needs to grow steadily at 9%. The industry that has been worst hit has the auto industry which has seen a massive slowdown in sales has seen. Auto industry leaders like Pawan Munjal of HeroCorp, RC Bhargava of Maruti, Anand Mahindra of Mahindra &amp; Mahindra, have all been rallying for reduction of GST to boost growth in sales. Rahul Bajaj, the chairman of Indian conglomerate Bajaj Group. During his company’s Annual General Meeting, he spoke of the government’s role in the weak sales of the auto industry. “There is no demand and no private investment, so where will growth come from? It doesn’t fall from the heavens. The auto industry is going through a very difficult period. Cars, commercial vehicles and two-wheelers are going through a rough patch,” Bajaj added. Earlier, Adi Godrej, chairman of the Godrej group, too <a href="https://www.firstpost.com/business/industry-leaders-reaction-on-budget-2019-adi-godrej-says-budget-is-not-growth-oriented-stock-market-comes-down-considerably-6940161.html">said</a> that the Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is not “growth-oriented”. <a href="https://www.ndtv.com/india-news/adi-godrej-rising-intolerance-hate-crimes-can-seriously-damage-growth-2068996">Godrej also touched upon a sensitive subject </a>saying that rising intolerance in the country is also affecting growth. However, there are also some who believe this is just a phase. HDFC Chairman <a href="https://www.businesstoday.in/current/economy-politics/indias-economic-slowdown-driven-by-lower-consumption-temporary-in-nature-says-hdfcs-deepak-parekh/story/370229.html">Deepak Parekh</a> in the recent annual general meeting of the bank said, “While there has been an across-the-board slowdown in consumption, given the inherent demand and low penetration levels, I believe this is temporary in nature.”

Ahead of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Narendra+Modi">PM Narendra </a><a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Narendra+Modi">Modi</a>’s visit to <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/searchresult.cms?query=Silicon+Valley+">Silicon Valley</a>, a delegation of five top executives of Indian companies will visit <keyword id="107096" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Tesla">Tesla</keyword> manufacturing facility in California this week. 
 
As per an Economic Times report, the delegation will interact with the investors and representatives from the US-India Business Council and US Department of Commerce as well as the US Trade representative. 
 
The Confederation of Indian Industry’s CEO Mission will meet in San Francisco. The association has several big names associated with it among with a few are Rajiv Modi, chairman and managing director of Cadila Pharmaceuticals; Rahul Munjal, managing director of Hero Future Energies; Deep Kapuria, chairman of Hi-tech Gears; Rajan Navani, managing director of Jetline Industries Ltd; and Tarun Sawhney, managing director of Triveni Engineering &amp; Industries. 
 The major task of the delegation is to visit the manufacturing facility of Tesla — the maker of battery operated luxury cars. The company which was co-founded by billionaire <keyword id="6355315" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Elon-Musk">Elon Musk</keyword> is all set to start the production work by next year. 
 
With PM Modi’s emphasis on clean energy, the government would be keen to introduce the technology in India. 
 
The facility underwent an upgrade last year, adding significant manufacturing innovation using automation technology to increase production capacity and reduce production time. Modi is expected to visit the facility on September 26-27. 
 
Over their two-day visit, the CII delegation will interact with members of Silicon Valley-based entrepreneurship trade body The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and also meet India's Ambassador to the US, Arun Singh. They will participate in a roundtable with the National Academy of Sciences on 'Manufacturing Innovation'.
