Both the feminine care and health care business delivered strong double-digit sales growth in the quarter. Ad Volumes rose in all weeks of July’21 over the same weeks in July’20, with the highest growth (16%) occurring in week 1 of July’21, the report revealed. Television witnessed over 40 new categories, over 1200 new advertisers and over 2100 new brands in July this year as compared to July 20. Corporate/Brand Image, Ecom-Education and Tea were the new entrants among the Top 10 categories in Jul'21. Toilet Soaps retained its first rank in Jul'21 over Jul’20, followed by Milk Beverages on 2nd position. After Taranjeet Singh and Balaji Krish, Maheshwari will be the third person at the helm of the microblogging platform's Indian affairs since 2017. Twitter has 30 million users in India. Maheshwari will report to Maya Hari, Twitter's Vice President and Managing Director of Asia Pacific, and will be responsible for driving an integrated business strategy to accelerate Twitter's audience and revenue growth in the country, the company said in a statement. "India is one of our fastest growing audience markets for Twitter in the world and our purpose is to serve the public conversation in India. We are thrilled to have Manish join us at this important time to take our Indian business to the next level," said Hari. <ul><li>India’s largest retailer, <keyword id="44949" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Future-group">Future Group</keyword> is set to scale up its share in laundry market with new liquid and powder detergent brands. </li><li>The move is set to cut shelf space by a third and hit <keyword id="6365619" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="hindustan-unilever">Hindustan Unilever</keyword> and <keyword id="316422" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Procter">Procter</keyword> &amp; Gamble’s market share. </li><li>Future Group owner <keyword id="44950" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kishore-Biyani">Kishore Biyani</keyword> announced his company’s new plans. </li></ul>India’s largest retailer, Future Group is planning to scale up its share in the laundry market with its own line of liquid detergents and powders. The Founder of the group, Kishore Biyani said that he wants to take on giants like Hindustan Unilever and Procter &amp; Gamble (P&amp;G) by cutting their shelf space by a third in the segment, says an <a href="https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/industry/services/retail/kishore-biyani-sees-bright-future-in-own-brands/articleshow/70166924.cms?from=mdr">Economic Times</a> report. The Group’s Future Consumer (FCL), the consumer arm of the group which runs <keyword id="6357823" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="big-bazaar">Big Bazaar</keyword> stores, already launched its own liquid detergent brand, Voom. It soon plans to come up with a powder format of it, in two weeks. On the Shelf Biyani wants to gain disproportionate share in the market, building on its vast retail presence. “Consumers will finally decide which brands to pick but we have to push our own brands on shelves too,” Biyani told ET. The Future Group operates around 1,500 stores across supermarket chains like Big Bazar, Easyday, <keyword id="162215" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Hypercity">HyperCity</keyword>, Easyday and Nilgiris. Together, they account for around 5% of the HUL and P&amp;G’s annual sales worth ₹4,000 crores. FCL is leaving no stone unturned to get its brands into the market. It is planning to stock its new laundry brand Voom across fashion stores too owned by the group like FBB, <keyword id="370284" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Brand-Factory">Brand Factory</keyword> and Central stores. Ambitious targets Laundry is the biggest market category for both HUL and P&amp;G. The largest segment in the home and personal care space is worth ₹24,000 crore. HUL and P&amp;G have flagship brands like Surf, Rin, Ariel and Tide, which control more than half of the market. But, Future has set ambitious targets to get 70% of sales from their own brands in the next few, said the ET report. Laundry is a big part of this grand plan. Biyani restructured his retail company into a fast moving consumer goods company (FMCG) company, nearly a decade back. Future Consumer has its own brands and private labels. FCL already has a 20% share in the biscuit segment. It is also the third largest player after household brands like <keyword id="6359432" type="DOMAIN" weightage="20" keywordseo="britannia">Britannia</keyword> and Parle. Within their own stores, FCL has a majority share in the body wash segment and also snacks.

Indian techies won’t benefit from the second centre of the Swiss banking major <keyword id="6365707" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="UBS">UBS</keyword> in India as it is looking forward to doing nearly 60% of its technology and operations work in-house. This move will take work away from Indian IT companies. 
 UBS has always been a generous spender on IT and BPO services. UBS joins financial firms like American Express, Bank of America and consumer company <keyword id="6361491" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Procter-Gamble">Procter &amp; Gamble</keyword> to take work back in-house. The trend however, didn’t worked well for the Indian IT sector, which has already seen growth slow down as clients hold on to their purse strings. 
 "We have centres in Poland, China, the US and in India. We are notionally targetting doing about 60% of work in-house and using vendors for the rest,” <keyword id="3937282" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="markus-lickert">Markus Lickert</keyword>, global head of <keyword id="3937279" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="ubs-business-solution-centres">UBS Business Solution Centres</keyword>, told ET. 
 
The company currently outsources about 70% of its technology and operations work. 
 "In the next 3-5 five years, I expect there will be a consolidation. The company's insourcing strategy had been created in 2014, when it decided to build centres that would hold its IT and operations work. UBS is now building its second centre at Navi Mumbai to mainly do risk management work, though in time the centre is also expected to provide services related to IT infrastructure management. The centre will open next year and we think it would initially hold 1,500 people. But when you establish such centres, there is a growth plan, so we can put up to 3,000 people between UBS employees and our partners,” <keyword id="3937278" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="lickert">Lickert</keyword> told ET. 
 
The centre will hold UBS employees as well as some from UBS' outsourcing vendors. 
 In India, UBS work with companies like <keyword id="28721" type="CITY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Cognizant">Cognizant</keyword> and Tata Consultancy Services. 
 
Likert also said that there would likely be more insourcing among the financial services companies as they look for more innovation. 
 
"I would support the idea there is more work going in-house particularly among the financial services industry. We are looking to be more differentiated and we have seen our IT and BPO partners sometimes struggle with the pace of innovation,” hetold ET. 
 
According to the experts, Indian IT players could do more to hold on to the business. 
 
"Sometimes Indian IT companies do not offer automation and outcome-based pricing because they are scared of cannibalising their revenue, especially where the contracts are FTE-based. They should start offering this to the more mature clients who are looking at insourcing,” Dinesh Goel, India head at outsourcing consultancy ISG,told ET. 
 
The National Association of Software and Services Companies have slashed the expected growth rate for the industry to 8-10% from its previous estimate of 10-12% growth.

The Indian subsidiary of <keyword id="6361491" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Procter-Gamble">Procter &amp; Gamble</keyword>, the American multinational consumer goods company, has decided to introduce a new policy which will allow its employees a paid leave of six months when they adopt a child. The initiative is a part of its industry-leading efforts, which has seen it been counted amongst the first few companies in India to grant maternity leave of six months. 
 
The new policy makes both male and female employees eligible for this paid leave if they are the primary caregivers. 
 "The intent of launching the <keyword id="3294276" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="adoption-leave">Adoption Leave</keyword> Policy is to lead the way for the industry as we see the adoption trend rising in the near future," Sonali Roychowdhury, HR director at <keyword id="113078" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="PG-India">P&amp;G India</keyword>, told ET. 
 
"We expect the trend to pick up, especially as P&amp;G India is a very young organisation with an average age of 28-29," she said. Reportedly, the number of P&amp;G employees who have adopted children has doubled in the past two years. 
 
Not only this, P&amp;G India has also upgraded its flexible working policy which would allow employees to work from home for as many days as their manager allows. 
 
"We are reaffirming our commitment to 'flex@work' by providing greater flexibility in critical life stages like return from maternity/paternity, taking care of ageing parents, attending to a family member who is sick, etc," Roychowdhury said. 
 
It was five years ago that P&amp;G had introduced a maternity leave of six months, setting an example for other companies to follow. With this move, it surely has become an example for its peers.
