Everything comes at a price even cricket players. Indian Premier League (IPL) season kicked-off amid glitzy ceremony and eight teams will be contesting with each other to win the coveted trophy. 
 
Preparations for the IPL extravaganza had begun long time back with auction of cricketers from India and across the world (minus Pakistan). 
 Owners of the eight teams- Delhi Daredevils, <keyword id="13880" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mumbai-Indians">Mumbai Indians</keyword>, Kings XI Punjab, <keyword id="1494441" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sunrisers-Hyderabad">Sunrisers Hyderabad</keyword>, <keyword id="6354467" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kolkata-Knight-Riders">Kolkata Knight Riders</keyword>, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rising Pune Supergiants and Gujarat Lions- retained and even poached players from other teams by bidding a higher amount. 
 
The bidding process threw many surprises as players like Nathu Singh were netted for Rs 3.2 crore. Even M Ashwin was auctioned for Rs 4.5 crore from previous Rs 10 lakh.

This is because Juventus may have to sell a key asset like experienced striker Gonzalo Higuaín or young forward Paulo Dybala in order to remain on the right side of UEFA regulations.In a 20-page document called <a href="https://www.footballbenchmark.com/documents/files/public/KPMG%20Football%20Benchmark_Ronaldo%20Economics(1).pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">"Ronaldo Economics,"</a> KPMG reports that "Juventus needs to abide by specific rules" to be "compliant with UEFA Regulations."It said: "One of the most stringent ones is the 'break-even' rule, which requires them to report a maximum accumulated loss of €30 million over the course of the three latest financial years." Ronaldo's transfer is a "heavy burden" to that rule.What this means is simple. After buying Ronaldo, Juventus must now sell at least one of its big-name players."The arrival of Ronaldo in Turin might imply the disposal of one or more players by Juventus, providing an immediate source of funding," KPMG said. It listed six players that could generate a large "potential selling price."<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">KPMG</div></div></div>As you can see in the table above, the player with the biggest selling price is Paulo Dybala - the club's top-performing player in the 2017-2018 season, <a href="https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/87/Show/Italy-Juventus" target="_blank" rel="noopener">according to soccer statistic website Whoscored.com</a>.KPMG believes Dybala has a transfer value of €105 million to €120 million and, at that price, the player would likely have no shortage of admirers as he has been <a href="https://talksport.com/football/373378/manchester-united-transfer-blow-bayern-munich-want-juventus-striker-paulo-dybala/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">linked with Bundesliga giant Bayern Munich</a> and <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/jul/11/football-transfer-rumours-paulo-dybala-xherdan-shaqiri-liverpool" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Premier League club Liverpool FC</a>.However, at 24, Dybala is a player Juventus can build around for years to come, so the club could be loathe to lose him to a European rival - especially at a time when it is planning to win the UEFA Champions League title.<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table"><div><div class="image on-image">Getty ImagesGonzalo&#xa0;Higuaín, Mario Mandžukić, and Paulo Dybala.</div></div></div>Instead, Juventus may prefer ratifying sales for players over 30 years old - their transfer value will only decrease, so it may be preferable to cash in now while Juventus can still generate a decent fee and satisfy UEFA regulations.Mario Mandžukić scored just five goals in 27 starts for Juventus last season, but the 32-year-old excelled at the 2018 FIFA World Cup with Croatia and his performance level has put him back into the spotlight.Mandžukić is not essential to future Juventus success and, with KPMG valuing him at €20 million to €25 million, <a href="https://talksport.com/football/394992/manchester-united-transfer-news-mario-mandzukic-juventus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">he could be free to join Manchester United</a>.Experienced striker Gonzalo Higuaín could also be on the chopping block. Higuaín was the second-highest goalscorer at Juventus last season, netting 16 times in 32 starts in all competitions. But at 30 years old, and with Dybala and now Ronaldo ahead of him in the starting line-up, he may be surplus to requirements.KPMG foresees a €60 million to €70 million transfer fee for Higuaín, should Juventus decide to sell. And <a href="https://talksport.com/football/403082/chelsea-transfer-maurizio-signing-gonzalo-higuain-possible/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">the player has already generated interest from Premier League club Chelsea</a>.<h2>Is that all Juventus has to do?</h2>No. Not at all. Selling one of its top players is the easy part. The hard part is what happens over the next two to three seasons, because Juventus must "increase its operating revenues" to justify the extravagant Ronaldo purchase.KPMG estimates that season ticket prices for the forthcoming seasons could increase by 30%, which would generate €33 million to €34 million. Juventus could also generate increased revenue from broadcasting (there will be more eyes on the club now it has the planet's most recognisable soccer player), and sponsorship (blue-chip clients would also, in theory, be lining up to talk to Juventus now it has Ronaldo).Now here comes the fun part.Yes. That process, however, has undergone some changes in the past decade, and one of the world's most famous purveyors of rockstar dreams, Fender, is smack in the middle of it.The iconic manufacturer of Telecaster and Stratocasters is revamping its products and introducing new gear. Fender is renewing its commitment to budget-minded players with a revamped line of affordable electric guitars

The <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/heres-how-your-led-tvs-are-made/articleshow/57430748.cms">LED television</a> market in India, which stands at Rs 22,000-crore, is all set for a price war, given that three leading players- <keyword id="6356116" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="LG">LG</keyword>, <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Samsung-in-consumer-products-segment/articleshow/53261996.cms">Samsung </a>and Sony- have slashed their product prices by as much as 15%, the steepest ever. This has been done keeping in mind the increased competition from smaller brands like Micromax, Intex, TCL, BPL and Sansui.

"Globally, there has been no decrease in prices of LED televisions, but the big brands are under pressure to reduce prices in India due to sales taking a hit with several brands entering the market and playing on price. This is across television sizes, but the maximum focus is on the 32-42-inch segment, which alone accounts for over 55% of the market," the chief of a leading television maker told ET.

However, these companies deny having dropped prices in the 32-inch segment, and maintain their stand that even if some price correction was done, it was in larger screen sizes as those models are about to reach the end of their lives. 
 
Rishi Tandon, senior GM for home entertainment at LG India, said that even though competition is always good, these three players continue to dominate the TV market. 
 
On the other hand, the head of a durable retail chain said that the availability of over 25 brands in the market has given customers a choice to go for value pricing.

Red Sox pitcher David Price appeared to call out his white teammates for visiting Trump to celebrate World Series title

Mumbai, May 8 () The impact of the COVID-19 crisis on petrochemicals and chemicals sector will differ across value chains, with segments like packaging witnessing an uplift, a report said. In the chemicals sector, the crisis has resulted in several Indian companies getting order inflows from global chemical players to meet the short-term supply disruptions from China, which is a credit positive for these players, rating agency Icra said. The report further said the lockdowns have adversely affected the demand for chemicals and petrochemicals owing to decline in consumption and shutting down of manufacturing plants, supply chains and distribution networks. Packaging, especially food packaging, sanitary and medical applications, are seeing an uplift mainly due to stockpiling, an increase in delivery services and the high healthcare-focused activities, it added. "The sharp decline in crude oil prices has significantly altered the ethylene cost curve. While earlier, natural gas and ethane-based crackers enjoyed a large cost advantage vis-a-vis mixed feed or naphtha-based crackers, the competitiveness of the latter has improved owing to the decline in crude oil and consequently naphtha/LPG prices," Icra Senior Vice President and Group Head, Corporate Ratings, K Ravichandran said. Accordingly, naphtha/LPG-based crackers are beneficiaries of a lower crude oil price environment, he added. "As for the Indian petrochemicals industry, which is primarily naphtha-based, it is a key beneficiary as tolling margins of ethylene crackers have improved. "While prices of various petrochemicals have declined for Indian manufacturers, the decline in prices of feed stocks has been higher, thereby improving the spreads," he added. Regarding impact on the chemicals industry, Icra said with pesticides getting placed under the essential commodities category, the functioning of the industry has been close to business as usual. Additionally, since the application of the agrochemicals begins by end-May and continues till September, the product off-take is not expected to be impacted, it added. While domestic demand is expected to remain stable, exports are expected to witness headwinds owing to challenges related to port handling and international logistics. Indian agrochemical industry imports a major portion of its raw material requirements from Chinese technical manufacturers. Nevertheless, with easing of the lockdown in China and the Chinese government offering export rebates to pesticide manufacturers, the production levels in China have reached around 70 per cent of the normal production levels. For the upcoming kharif season, agrochemical players are not expected to witness any shortage of raw materials. Icra Vice President and Co-Head, Corporate Ratings, Prashant Vasisht said in the initial phase of the lockdown in India, several specialty chemical players had to shut down their manufacturing plants, barring production of chemicals classified under essential commodities. "The production, however, is expected to resume soon as the government has relaxed various norms related to the lockdown. Additionally, owing to the over-dependence of global chemical players on Chinese supplies, the disruptions have sent global players scrambling for alternate supply sources. "As a result, several Indian players have witnessed order inflows from global chemical players to meet the short-term supply disruptions from China, which is a credit positive for these players," he added. Unfortunately for <keyword id="6507856" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="Major-League-Baseball">Major League Baseball</keyword>, Santana is just the latest high-priced superstar that won't be in uniform when the season starts.
In addition to Santana, <keyword id="23712" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Alex-Rodriguez">Alex Rodriguez</keyword> and Mark Teixeira of the <keyword id="130401" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="60" keywordseo="New-York-Yankees">New York Yankees</keyword> will also be on the disabled list to start the year. Those three players represent three of the seven highest-paid players in baseball and will make a combined $76.0 million this season.
The Yankees have been particularly vulnerable this year. In addition to Rodriguez and Teixeira, they will have three other high-priced players on the DL to start the year, including Curtis Granderson, Derek Jeter, and Phil Hughes. Those five players will make a combined $87.7 million this season, or <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/11-players-will-make-more-than-entire-houston-astros-roster-in-2013-2013-3">more than four times as much as the entire Astros roster</a>.
There is always risk when giving an older player a large contract, especially with pitchers. But as salaries skyrocket, this rash of injuries could lead to more teams redirecting their money in the direction of their own young players in hopes of keeping those players around through their peaks years.

<div class="KonaFilter image-container display-table float_right"><div><div class="image on-image"></div></div></div>Bungie, the creator of "Halo" and "Destiny," couldn't wait until its weekly Thursday blog post to address the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/destiny-the-taken-king-pricing-controversy-bungie-luke-smith-defend-rebuying-content-2015-6">highly controversial pricing structure</a> for "The Taken King," the next major "Destiny" expansion coming this fall.On Wednesday night, Bungie's community manager David "DeeJ" Dague <a href="https://www.bungie.net/en/News/News?aid=13090">announced a new pricing structure</a> for the Collector's Editions of "The Taken King," which many longtime players took issue with since they offered bonus content only hardcore fans wanted, but they also required the purchase (or repurchase) of the original game and first two expansions, for a grand total of $80.Here's a quick breakdown of the news from Wednesday night:<ul><li>"The Taken King" as a standalone purchase still costs $40.</li><li>The digital content from the Collector's Editions will be sold as a "$20 upgrade bundle." This includes extras like three armor shaders, three class items that give your character experience bonuses when worn, and three class-specific "emotes," which are either new gestures or dance moves for characters.</li><li>The $60 "Legendary Edition," which includes the original game and first two expansions, plus "The Taken King," won't include the digital content from the Collector's Editions. "You can elect to pick this [$20 upgrade bundle] up if you want to upgrade into a Collector's Edition," Dague writes.</li></ul>The single positive takeaway from this news was that current "Destiny" players won't need to spend $80 to obtain the bonus content from the Collector's Editions. But Bungie still needs to address two major issues before fans are satisfied:<ul><li>The digital content from the Collector's Editions - just 9 pieces of total content - costs $20, which is the same price as each of the last two "Destiny" expansions, "The Dark Below" and "The House of Wolves." Both of those expansions offered a ton of content: new missions, quests, end-game activities, and of course, weapons and gear.</li><li>"The Taken King" costs $40 in the US, but £40 in the UK - or roughly $63. If UK players want the digital content from the Collector's Editions, they'll need to drop an extra $31 (£20). The grand total would come out to be a whopping $95 (£60). A lot of "Destiny" players take issue with this, even though it's common for US companies to charge the same UK pound amount. Mumbai, Jan 13 () Even as there was marginal improvement in financial performance during the first half of 2019-20, profit margins for bulk tea players are likely to remain under pressure due to tepid tea price movement in the current financial year, according to a report.
 "The marginal increase in overall tea prices together with muted growth in tea production for the large bulk tea players are likely to constrain any improvement in the operating profitability of bulk tea producers in 2019-20," Icra Vice-President and Sector Head (Corporate Sector Ratings) Kaushik Das said.
 This is despite the fact that labour cost is unlikely to witness any material increase in the current financial year, he added.
 "However, organised players with a high proportion of orthodox tea volumes could be an exception and are likely to see some improvement driven by significant increase in orthodox tea prices," he added.
 In the first eight months of 2019-20, tea auction prices in North India (NI) remained flat, owing to continued pressure on CTC tea prices.
 Though firm orthodox tea prices provided some respite, limited volumes of orthodox teas in total NI production curbed the overall improvement in North India auction prices.
 Icra also noted that while CTC tea prices for the organised segment witnessed an improvement of around 5-6 per cent during August-October 2019, owing to estimated crop loss during August 2019, the same seemed to have tapered down in November 2019.
 In addition, the increase in production by the organised players based out of NI remained muted at around 1.8 per cent with major increase only happening in the bought leaf segment to around 6.5 per cent.
 Prices at the South Indian (SI) auction centres, after remaining firm till the beginning of July 2019, witnessed a continuous decline for the past 3-4 months, following the crop recovery in June-August 2019.
 On a cumulative basis, the SI's auction prices declined by around 3 per cent during 8 months of 2019-20 because of higher supply.
 Meanwhile, the overall global tea production declined marginally by 0.6 per cent during the 10 months of the calendar year 2019, primarily due to a fall in Kenyan production (around 8 per cent), which offset the increase in Indian production to a large extent.
 The softer trend in global tea prices also impacted India's export prospects, primarily for the CTC variety.
 Overall, the total Indian export volume remained stagnant during the first 10 months of 2019, however, there has been a considerable growth of around 10 per cent in the export realisation due to healthy demand, particularly from Iran.
 However, going forward, sustainability of such trends for orthodox teas remains uncertain as of now.
 The industry also continued to face headwinds in controlling costs, primarily after the significant increase in wage rates during 2018-19, it added. SM HRS
