 PM CARES donations from sportsmen From the sporting arena, Indian cricketer Suresh Raina is donating ₹52 lakh but only ₹31 lakh is going towards the PM-CARES fund. The other ₹21 lakh is going to Raina’s home state, Uttar Pradesh, towards the chief minister’s Disaster Relief Fund. "That's a brilliant fifty," Modi responded to Raina's contribution.  Pledge campaigns for donations to PM CARES Organisations like PhonePe and Motiwal Oswal are also doing their part during this time of crisis. The online payments platform PhonePe has launched a ₹100 crore pledge campaign in which they will add ₹10 to everyone’s donation. All of Indian Railway's employees have pledged one day's salary to the newly-formed Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) Fund, according to union minister Piyush Goyal. Fake accounts are stealing donations to the PM CARES Fund — Here's to how to keep from getting scammed

Mumbai, Apr 28 () The Reserve Bank of India (<keyword id="30067" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="RBI">RBI</keyword>) on Tuesday said its employees have decided to contribute salary of one or more days totalling Rs 7.30 crore towards the <keyword id="8972742" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="pm-cares-fund">PM-CARES Fund</keyword>. To help people affected by any kind of emergency or distress situation like the one posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the government has set up a public charitable trust named Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-CARES Fund) to receive contributions from various sources, the central bank said in a statement. "Responding to the call to support this noble cause, the employees of the Reserve Bank have decided to contribute one or more days salary to the PM-CARES Fund," the RBI said. The total contribution from the employees amounting to Rs 7.30 crore is being remitted to the PM-CARES Fund, it said. The COVID-19 pandemic and the related dislocation in normal economic activity have severely affected economically weaker sections of the society and their means of livelihood.

He also contributed Rs 55 crore to several state relief funds. Damani has made the contribution through his group company Bright Star Investments. "We are fully supportive of the swift actions taken by the central, state and local government bodies of India to protect the general public. Billionaire Radhakishan Damani contributes ₹100 cr to PM CARES Fund

New Delhi, Mar 30 () The Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) on Monday said its officers will contribute one-day salary for two months to help the country fight the coronavirus outbreak. "Officers of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM) will be contributing their one-day salary for two months to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situation Fund (PM-CARES Fund) in their bid to join the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic," the EAC-PM said in a tweet. "Their one-day salary for the month of April and May 2020 will be contributed to the PM-CARES Fund," it added. The Union government has set up a public charitable trust under the name of the PM-CARES Fund in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak. EAC-PM officers to contribute 1-day salary for 2 months towards PM-CARES

Mumbai, Apr 4 () State-owned Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) on Saturday said the government has nominated it for collection of donations for PM-Cares Fund.The Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations Fund (PM-Cares Fund) was set up on March 28 to raise money for combating the Covid-19 crisis and to provide relief to the affected."Indian Overseas Bank (IOB), has been nominated by the government for collection of funds, which will be used to support the community during the Coronavirus outbreak. The funds will be assigned to PM-Cares Fund," the bank said in a statement.The contributions can be made by RTGS, NEFT, IMPS, cheques and demand drafts drawn in favour of PM-Cares Fund.One can also remit contributions directly by electronic clearing system (ECS) to the designated savings bank account of Indian Overseas Bank.All such contributions will be entitled to 100 per cent income tax exemption under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.Political leaders, corporates, defence personnel, employees of PSUs such as Railways and Bollywood personalities are among a cross-section of organisations and people who have announced their contribution to the PM-Cares Fund.All officials of the external affairs ministry are also donating a day's salary, while some of them are voluntarily donating more.The Army, Navy and Indian Air Force as well as employees of the defence ministry have decided to donate one day's salary totalling around Rs 500 crore. Govt nominates IOB for collecting donations for PM Cares Fund

New Delhi, Apr 3 () Agrochemical firm UPL Limited on Friday pledged to contribute Rs 75 crore to PM-CARES fund in assisting the government to fight against the coronavirus pandemic which has claimed the lives of over 50 people and infected more than 2,300 others.The Mumbai-based agricultural solutions company has also kept on standby the premises of its educational institutions such as Gyan Dham School and Sandra Shroff Rofel College of Nursing, both at Vapi in Gujarat, with necessary arrangements to operate as quarantine centres as and when required, it said.It is also continuously providing large numbers of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to frontline healthcare and sanitisation workers who are fighting the battle against the novel coronavirus, the company said in a statement.Jai Shroff, the CEO of UPL Limited, said: "These are very challenging times for the entire mankind, and we find ourselves duty-bound to serve the nation and assist with our resources and expertise in this critical fight. As a responsible corporate, we remain committed to support the government of India and various state governments in every possible manner."The company said that it is additionally supplementing the Central and state governments' efforts by engaging 200 modern mechanical spraying machines (falcons) and 225 staff members to contain the spread of coronavirus.The company teams are assisting local administrations by providing services of disinfectant spraying at various public and private spaces such as hospitals, streets, police stations, railway stations, municipal corporations among others.Tushar Trivedi, Head, AFS, UPL said: "We recognise that keeping public spaces disinfected is one of the most important aspects in checking the spread of coronavirus. UPL contributes Rs 75 cr to PM-CARES fund

New Delhi, Mar 31 () State-run REC on Tuesday pledged Rs 150 crore under PM CARES fund to fight against COVID-19. "REC Limited... has pledged to donate Rs 150 crore to the Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund to support India's fight against coronavirus", a PFC statement said. Besides, the one-time contribution to the newly-formed emergency fund, REC's employees will voluntarily contribute one day's salary to the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF). REC is committed to participating in corporate India's response to COVID-19 through funds, community welfare plans and through leveraging its expertise to offer assistance, the company said. On Monday, Power Minister R K Singh had tweeted, "We feel honoured to share that the public sector undertakings of the ministries of power and MNRE have decided to contribute Rs 925 crore to the PM CARES fund with Rs 445 crore being deposited on 31st of March and remaining in the first week of April." All India Football Federation pledges to donates ₹25 lakh to PM CARES Fund

New Delhi, Apr 1 () State-owned KIOCL on Wednesday said it will contribute Rs 10 crore towards the PM CARES Fund to fight the coronavirus pandemic in India. The employees of the PSU have also offered one day's salary towards the fund, according to M V Subba Rao, Chairman and Managing Director of the company. "Our contribution to fight the pandemic is Rs 10.1 crore. The aid would be extended to the PM CARES Fund to contain COVID-19 virus outbreak in our country," he said. Most of the staff is working from home and only necessary operations are on at the unit, he said adding that those on duty including the Central Industrial Security Force staff have been provided with proper safety equipment and the premises are being sanitised on a regular basis. Besides, food packets, hygienic products such as masks, hand sanitisers and other medical facilities are being provided to the communities living near the KIOCL's unit in Karnataka.
