I've been to every country in Europe (except Russia), and in my opinion, one of these countries provides the ideal destination for toddlers: Ireland. I recently went with my own 3-year-old, and we had an amazing time.<br /><br />As soon as our ferry docked in Dublin, my son seemed amazed. If you want to extend your overland trip, you can take ferries from the east and southern coasts of Ireland to France, England, Wales, and the Isle of Man to avoid the hassle of flying. You might even see a dolphin or a whale in the Irish Sea if you're lucky.<br /><br />Seals also haul out on the beaches and rocks along the coast, so it's fun to try to spot them. My son loved visiting the Seal Rescue Center in County Wexford, where we saw baby seals being nursed back to health. The abundance of countryside means that there is wildlife everywhere, including seabirds, deer, and otters.<br /><br /><h2>It's not hard to get food for even the pickiest eaters</h2>It also means that there are plenty of farms, so it's easy to find fresh local produce wherever you go. <ul class="summary-list"><li>Shared Access worked with a football club to power headsets for fans with visual impairments.</li><li>It installed a private 5G network for fast connectivity and nearly instantaneous streaming.</li></ul><p><em>This as-told-to essay is based on a conversation with Sam Jackman, the chief development officer of Shared Access, a European company that develops mobile-connectivity solutions. The following has been edited for length and clarity.</em></p><p>My company, Shared Access, has been working with the Crystal Palace Football Club in London for years to improve <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-5g-technology-leaves-connectivity-legacy-in-olympic-host-cities-2024-8">connectivity</a> at its stadium, Selhurst Park.</p><p>It started when Vodafone approached Shared Access to help build a system for the stadium that ensures great service even when all 30,000 fans are trying to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/paris-olympics-internet-connection-5g-mobile-technology-2024-7">use their phones at once</a>.</p><p>Last year, the Crystal Palace team came to us for help supporting a specific cohort of fans: those with visual impairments. In partnership with <a target="_blank" href="https://www.givevision.net/">GiveVision</a>, they were working on deploying headsets that <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/5g-tech-innovations-behind-paris-olympic-games-connectivity-timeline-2024-8">stream live match footage</a> directly to fans with partial sight, allowing them to sit anywhere in the stadium but see every moment in sync with the pitch action — and they needed <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/5g-advanced-standalone-6g-qualcomm-huawei-mwc-2024-3">faster connectivity</a> to make it happen.</p><h2 id="a62d967b-58dc-4173-a02e-13c9a124d3fe">The existing networks weren't cutting it</h2><p>Before coming to us, the team working on the project tried running the headsets over WiFi, but there was too much latency. People using the headsets experienced everything on a slight delay, with the fans around them reacting to something on the field before they could see the action.</p><p>The 4G network that we'd previously deployed with Vodafone, and even public 5G networks, weren't going to do the job. Public networks have a lot of firewalls and protocols that create additional delays, such as the need for data to travel from the stadium to the core network of a mobile operator outside the stadium and then back to the user. It's also difficult because the number of other users using the network inside the venue slows things down.</p><p>We decided to install a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/how-private-wireless-connectivity-changing-airport-experience-aviation-mwc-2024-10">private 5G network</a> with an on-site core in the stadium. This allows for fully enclosed connectivity within the venue, avoiding external data transfer and eliminating the security-protocol challenges of major mobile-network operators. It provides nearly instantaneous performance, with faster speeds than 4G and even purer 5G speeds than most public users experience. Additionally, because the club has total control over who can use the network, it can ensure all the bandwidth goes to these headsets only.</p><p>On September 21, we officially launched the program, making Crystal Palace FC the first football club in the world to offer a permanent vision-enhancement system at its stadium for fans with sight impairments. Since we've launched, we've seen more fans with visual impairments who previously didn't think coming to a game was worth it show up and have a great experience.</p><h2 id="aeed7829-1de0-4bc7-8572-0328ee6a1095">Future applications for private 5G networks</h2><p>While helping these fans see is more than enough justification for implementing this private network, there are also so many <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ai-edge-computing-5g-cloud-artificial-intelligence-2024-3">opportunities</a> for how the tech could be used.</p><p>For instance, <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/barcelona-market-la-boqueria-5g-ar-personal-shoppers-2023-9">food and beverage vendors</a> could use the private network to power their tills, allowing the stadium to expand its food offerings to areas that previously didn't have strong enough connectivity. Security cameras could be installed in places where it's physically too difficult to get power and fiber wiring. Broadcasters may be able to use private 5G to get footage out more quickly, and without having to deploy as much equipment to the stadium, which would reduce the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/paris-olympics-how-5g-tech-could-curb-environmental-impact-2024-7">carbon footprint</a> of their work.</p><p>It doesn't have to be just sports, either. I'd suggest any kind of venue to consider: What are your problems? What are the things you'd love to do but think you can't because of connectivity?</p><p>Ultimately, having the foundation of this private network allows so much room for creativity in terms of what you can layer on top of it. Twelve months ago, I'd never heard of GiveVision's headsets, and it had never thought about using a private 5G network, so this collaboration ended up being perfect. Who knows what other applications are out there? I hope other partners and vendors collaborate just as imaginatively to come up with possibilities.</p>

I’ve swiped through about 500 profiles, filtering out the ones that didn’t match my expectations.<br /><br />The first thing you notice on these apps is the person’s picture and it’s only natural for that to influence your decision, much like a dating app. If you like their bio, you get down to talking about the more “practical” aspects of life, such as earnings, financial goals, responsibilities, whether or not they picture children in their future, etc.<br /><br />It was also crucial for me to find someone whose background and values aligned with mine. Caste was not an issue, but I wanted a partner from similar family background and upbringing to avoid potential personal or family conflicts later.<br /><br />And yet, none of this is even remotely enough. I did come across people who seemed fine on the surface but turned out to be condescending and rude the more I got to know them. Finally, of all the profiles I went through, I shortlisted 3 candidates that I wished to meet. While attraction and all these other aspects are important, what really matters is the energy you feel when interacting with them in person.<br /><br />As of now, I’ve met 2 of the 3 potential matches and I’m looking forward to meeting the third one (<em>wish me luck</em>).<br /><h2>What will my life look like post-marriage?<br /></h2>I don’t believe my life will drastically change post-marriage. Sure, I’ll have more responsibilities, but I’ll also have someone to share them with. My goal is to find a companion, someone I can explore life with, who’s comfortable with the idea of sharing everything, from household chores to dreams. A true partner.<br /><br />Of course, I’m scared — fear of the unknown is natural. I still don’t know who my life partner will be, and that uncertainty is daunting. But my optimism outweighs my fear. I believe that I’ll find the right person, and that belief keeps me going.<br /><h2>Parting advice<br /></h2>If I had any advice for someone entering the marriage "market" — because that’s exactly what it is — it would be to take this step only if <em>you </em>truly want it. While I am content with my choices, I have seen couples benefitting from modern dating, too.<br /><br />Secondly, don’t give in to societal pressure. Spend as much time as you can getting to know your potential partner. Indian parents tend to rush things and will likely push you to speed up the process. But remember, it’s your life. Stand your ground and make sure you’re comfortable with your choice. <ul class="summary-list"><li>Goldman Sachs named 95 partners last week, including private wealth exec Brittany Boals Moeller.</li><li>The 39-year-old runs the Southeast region and leads strategy for young and women clients.</li></ul><p>Brittany Boals Moeller, one of Goldman Sachs' newly minted partners, didn't picture a career in finance when she joined the bank 17 years ago. She grew up in Jonesboro, Arkansas, where her parents were professors at the local university. After graduating from New York University in 2007, she thought she would work at Goldman Sachs for a few years to save up for graduate school, perhaps to study public policy or become a lawyer. But even when the financial crisis hit, which was an opportune time to go back to school, she didn't want to leave.</p><p>"At Goldman, you are given tremendous responsibility and opportunity young in your career if you prove yourself able," she told Business Insider in an interview. "I've never once been bored, and so it's an easy choice to stay."</p><p>The 39-year-old is based in Atlanta and runs the Southeast region of Goldman Sach's private wealth division. While wealth management clients skew older, the division has a pipeline of rich millennial founders who work with the investment banking arm. Boals Moeller said these clients in their 30s and 40s are more likely to want more than investment advice, desiring services like concierge healthcare and bill pay that make their lives easier. To keep these clients loyal, she leads an initiative to cater to younger clients, including heirs and self-made entrepreneurs, and another that focuses on women customers.</p><p>"They're busy. They want simplicity. They need good people around them to help," she said.</p><p>During the dealmaking drought, the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/goldman-sachs-private-wealth-management-asset-david-solomon-2023-1">wealth management</a> business gained new prominence. "Quite frankly, private wealth management at Goldman Sachs has never been as much of a focus for the firm as it is today," division cohead John Mallory told BI in 2023.</p><p>Boals Moeller said the business's current stature is the result of investments more than a decade in the making. She served as chief of staff to wealth management head Tucker York during the financial crisis. Around 2010, she embarked on a listening tour of every wealth office. The advisor feedback led to the bank expanding its offerings beyond investment and tax planning advice.</p><p>"We knew this going way back, and it certainly continues today, which is we are not purely an investment solution for our clients," she said. "Investments are critical and core to our work, but increasingly we're seeing that with the next generation of wealth owners today, they are seeking simplicity and solutions in all aspects of their life."</p><p>Goldman Sachs' family office offering, Apex, launched a few years later. Now, the division offers chief financial officer services to help clients with not just estate planning but also lifestyle services like cybersecurity.</p><p>Catering to these younger clients, whether they are old-money heirs or startup founders celebrating their first windfall, requires meeting them where they are. That usually isn't over a steak and martini lunch or 18 holes at the golf course. What entices these clients more, Boals Moeller said, is getting to meet like-minded people.</p><p>Goldman Sachs holds events and conferences, often with star-studded lineups or in scenic locales. In August, Boals Moeller hosted a reception in Atlanta with singer Ciara and Marc-Kwesi Farrell, the founder of a rum brand that provided custom cocktails. In October 2023, Goldman Sachs hosted a conference in Deer Valley where billionaire Patrón founder John Paul DeJoria talked about keeping a business empire in the family. Sustainability and sports are particularly interesting to this demographic, with Goldman Sachs hosting a tour of a waste-to-clean-energy power plant in Copenhagen and bringing in Michelle Hynik, president of women's football club Utah Royals, to the Deer Valley summit.</p><p>Advisors also introduce clients to each other when appropriate, such as a pre-IPO founder to an entrepreneur who has already been through the process.</p><p>"A lot of effort is put into helping people not only just manage the risk and obviously the investment side of things, but also the broader piece, which is how do we help you have an amazing corporate outcome from the sale of your business, and how do we help you as a family appropriately prepare for that?" she said.</p><p>Advisors can meet with families one-on-one for financial education. However, many of these millennial and Gen-Z clients prefer digital education on their own time. Goldman Sachs has courses for children of clients as early as 15 years old. This Semester at GS program has six one-hour sessions that span trading talks from executives in global markets as well as personal finance topics like how to think about a credit score. These virtual sessions are cameras off, Boals Moeller notes.</p><p>"You don't have to be at a desk," she said. "It's not another hour of homework."</p>

This new Goldman Sachs partner is leading the bank's strategy with young heirs and founders

<ul class="summary-list"><li>After a two-year market slowdown, IPOs are rebounding and set to surge in 2025.</li><li>Morgan Stanley has partnered with cap-table firm Carta to reach founders before they get rich.</li></ul><p>After a two-year dealmaking drought, IPOs are mounting a <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/wall-street-q3-investment-banking-boom-could-be-upended-2024-10">comeback</a>, enriching their founders and employees in the process. To land these desirable clients before their big windfall, Morgan Stanley has partnered with Carta, a platform for startups and investors to track company ownership, Business Insider has learned.</p><p>Silicon Valley firms widely use Carta's financial software for tasks like issuing stock options and administering executive compensation. With this new partnership, Carta will refer clients looking to go public to Morgan Stanley at Work, a division that caters to businesses and their employees. </p><p><span>Carta told BI it has nearly 2,000 clients that have raised up to a series C and are on the pathway to IPO</span>. </p><p>"The likelihood of the pipeline materializing is higher than it has been in a very long time," the bank's wealth boss, Jed Finn, said in an exclusive interview. He said investors have been waiting to cash out and favorable conditions are on the horizon, such as the future Trump administration cutting red tape for megamergers.</p><p>Morgan Stanley uses workplace services like employee financial advice and executive compensation to get clients in the door while they're building wealth and hopefully convert them into fee-paying financial advisory customers. Over the past three years, the $6 trillion wealth business has added $250 billion in assets from individuals who started either as workplace or brokerage clients. This partnership is part of Morgan Stanley's effort to reach $10 trillion in client assets between the wealth arm and its smaller $1.6 trillion investment management unit.</p><p>Since companies are staying private longer and growing larger before going public, their employees are more likely to need financial advice before and after a mammoth IPO, Finn said. Potential dilemmas include whether to put their shares in a trust or how to diversify their newfound wealth.</p><p>"We're uniquely situated to be able to address that complexity and to provide the advice these employees need as the companies embark on their next wave of growth," he said.</p><h2 id="acbbb492-dd88-44fa-85c7-3862302f80a4"><strong>How it works</strong></h2><p>The referral deal fills gaps for Morgan Stanley and Carta. It gives the bank access to a broader customer base of private companies than its in-house stock planning administrator, Shareworks, and allows Carta customers to go public with less hassle. Carta stopped <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/startup-unicorn-carta-eliminating-equity-software-public-companies-2023-3">managing employee equity for public companies</a> last year, but now customers can swiftly transport their data from Carta to Shareworks before they go public and stay on the platform after their IPO.</p><p>"This really works for making it easier for Carta clients to get that second part of their existence, the public part, in the hands of somebody who has the experience to deliver it," Finn said. "It takes a lot of the risk, the stress, the data security issues out of the process because we have a seamless and protected mechanism to make that transition."</p><div type="image" title="Headshot of Morgan Stanley wealth boss Jed Finn" height="744" width="1024" msid="115216958" hostid="261" sizebytes="18792"></div><p>Carta clients can access Morgan Stanley services before moving to Shareworks. For instance, clients considering going public can meet with a Morgan Stanley investment banker to walk through options.</p><p>From there, companies can access the same offerings as other Shareworks customers, such as IPO prep and valuation services. After going public, they can tap Morgan Stanley for other services, including 401(k) management and financial reporting.</p><p>Before and after the IPO, employees can get financial advice from Morgan Stanley. Advisors even visit company campuses to hold webinars and office hours. Ideally, these conversations lead to employees becoming wealth management clients, Finn said.</p><h2 id="a88b4676-48a0-4139-a4a0-72d1bbdd9d16"><strong>It has been a rocky year for Carta</strong></h2><p>Finn had known Carta CEO Henry Ward since 2019 when the bank was looking to expand its stock management business. That year, Morgan Stanley bought a Carta competitor, Solium, now known as Shareworks. In 2021, the bank also acquired the cap table business of Silicon Valley law firm Wilson Sonsini.</p><p>The partnership caps off a tough year for Carta, which was accused in January of <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/carta-backlash-silicon-valley-startups-2024-1">misusing client information</a> to solicit startup investors to sell their shares without the client's consent. Ward said in a post on <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://henrysward.medium.com/how-we-handle-captable-information-c98d85d79277">Medium </a>that it was an isolated incident by a rogue employee, and Carta shuttered its <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/carta-gives-up-dream-of-being-nasdaq-for-private-markets-2024-1">secondary trading business</a>.</p><p>Finn declined to confirm whether Morgan Stanley considered buying Carta. "We regularly evaluate every company in the space we're thinking about," he said. "In this particular instance, we thought the partnership made the most sense since it addresses their needs, addresses our opportunity, and, importantly, it serves the clients most effectively."</p>

Land for Amaravati's development was acquired through a special program and the city is being designed with a focus on sustainability and smart technologies.<br /><br />Amaravati was selected in Round 3 of the Central Government’s Smart City Challenge in June 2017. Located along the Krishna River with good transport connections, it was among the few greenfield cities selected under India's Smart Cities Mission. Could your <keyword id="21578914" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sex-life" source="keywords">sex life</keyword> be the key to a <keyword id="21516607" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="longer-life" source="keywords">longer life</keyword>? According to a new study, women who regularly engage in <keyword id="20989065" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="sexual-activity" source="keywords">sexual activity</keyword> might just have a better shot at living longer. The findings come from a comprehensive analysis of data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES), a nationally representative study conducted in the United States.<br /><h2>The study in a nutshell<br /></h2>The research, led by public health scientist Srikanta Banerjee of Walden University, surveyed 14,542 adults between the ages of 20 and 59. Participants were asked about their sexual activity over the past year. About 38% reported having sex at least once a week.<br /><br />For women, the results were striking. Those who had sex less than 52 times a year were three times more likely to die from any cause over the five-year study period compared to those who had sex more frequently. This link remained significant even after accounting for factors like education, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status.<br /><br />Interestingly, the same connection wasn't found in men. However, sexual activity still played an important role for both men and women, especially those with poor <keyword id="19956983" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="mental-health" source="keywords">mental health</keyword>. Participants with <keyword id="20074966" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="depression" source="keywords">depression</keyword> who had sex less than 52 times a year had nearly a 200% higher chance of dying compared to non-depressed individuals, while those who were sexually active more than 52 times a year had a 75% higher risk.<br /><h2>Why sex matters — especially for women<br /></h2>The study builds on previous research that has highlighted the <keyword id="19923745" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="health-benefits" source="keywords">health benefits</keyword> of <keyword id="22747265" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="partnered-sex" source="keywords">partnered sex</keyword>, including improved cardiovascular health, reduced stress, increased happiness, and even enhanced brain health. Solo sexual activities, like masturbation, have also been linked to reduced stress and better sleep.<br /><br />However, this new research suggests that the benefits of sexual activity may be more pronounced for women, particularly in terms of longevity. While the exact reasons for this aren't clear, the study's authors point out that depression, which is more common in women, has been linked to a higher risk of premature death. Regular sexual activity might offer some protection against this risk.<br /><h2>The limits of the research<br /></h2>It's important to note that the study doesn't delve into the specifics of sexual activity, such as the types of sex or the level of satisfaction involved. The authors acknowledge that adding more detailed measures of sexual satisfaction in future research could help to clarify the findings.<br /><br />Before you jump to any conclusions, there’s an important caveat: the study also found that men who engaged in daily sexual activity were six times more likely to experience premature death than women who did the same. So while regular sex might be good for your health, moderation is key.<br /><br />There’s still much to learn about how sexual activity affects long-term health outcomes. But the takeaway from this study seems clear: regular sex, in moderation, could be a boon to your health—especially if you’re a woman.
