"I have a couple inquiries, and I'm meeting with people that have similar letters from the city. It's really refreshing that this public art statement is inspiring so much conversation."Seaside's city leaders are, surprisingly, quite pleased with Constable's rebellious fence.In May, Police Chief Nick Borges, who currently serves as the acting city manager, visited Constable's home to discuss the fence's mural.During their meeting, Borges not only extended his congratulations to Constable but also expressed his admiration with a heartfelt high-five. Gone was the overgrown sagebrush, replaced with all manner of drought-tolerant plants, including cactus, lavender, salvia, agave, and Italian cypress trees. The playground was transformed into a butterfly garden, and the basketball court was now a dance floor. An arch formed from Sage branches would serve as the focal point. To save money, we would get truckloads of plants from Craigslist for free. Of course, we had to dig them out ourselves, but it was worth the tens of thousands of dollars we saved just on landscaping.Over the next 11 months, the four of us worked tirelessly to create the perfect wedding venue. Whenever I wasn't at work or the kids weren't in class we were working on the yard and the house. It was exhausting, but it was a labor of love. We got to know our future daughter-in-law, and we bonded as a family. Everyone had a great time, and we got nothing but compliments on how great the house and yard looked. The listing agent said that everyone who came to see the house walked straight through to the backyard and stared in wonder. The house was beautiful, but the backyard is what sold it. Plus, pallets of retaining wall stones, new grass, outdoor lighting, and everything else. I spent some $40,000 in total. But instead of paying for a one-time event, I made an investment in my home, which paid off when I sold it.

Artists like Vincent Van Gogh were often dismissed in their own lifetimes.This incident appears to show someone going to extreme lengths to try to short-circuit that process.The now-fired worker had access to exhibition rooms outside opening hours, Süddeutsche Zeitung reported. At some point, he hung his painting on a gallery wall, although it's unclear how long it was up before somebody realized, according to the newspaper.After it was discovered, it was returned to the worker, according to the newspaper. The man was barred from the premises and fired, it added.Police are now investigating the man for a lesser offense — property damage.According to Süddeutsche Zeitung, he drilled two holes into the wall to put up his painting, which may constitute damage to the museum.The Pinakothek der Moderne did not immediately respond to a request for comment from BI.In an incident last November, also in Germany, another artist tried a similar strategy, although she had markedly more success with it.Danai Emmanouilidis smuggled her painting into an exhibition at the Bundeskunsthalle in Bonn. <a target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/bundeskunsthall/status/1725801090367754528">The museum praised the artwork</a>, which has since been auctioned off, with proceeds going to an arts charity for refugees.

On TikTok, a creator draped in all black and dark eye makeup lamented the creation by e.l.f., writing on a video of herself wagging her finger at the camera that "the normies are gonna buy it now." Others called the ad "lazy" and slammed it for relying on "every single possible alternative metalhead stereotype" to sell the product.Brittany Ludwig, a creator who makes videos under the TikTok handle @<a target="_blank" rel="opener" class="css-1qxabns-StyledLink ediam1h8" href="https://www.tiktok.com/@tasteofblud">tasteofblud</a>, ranted about how the cosmetic brand should have been marketed by "a real corpse paint girlie" such as herself. Logically, I know this would never happen, but it would be nice for working makeup artists and the goth community to get some recognition."But as much as the real goths may mourn the exclusivity of their extreme cosmetics, the normies are loving it: The kit sold out in less than an hour, and most of the limited-run palettes almost certainly ended up in the hands of mainstream MUAs.Representatives for e.l.f.
