Nuvoco Vistas IPO: Check allotment status, listing date and more

Investors had expected a negative listing after the CarTrade Tech IPO had also opened at discount last week because of weak momentum in the market led by global cues. Post listing, the market capitalisation of the company stood at ₹16,822.05 crore, according to BSE data. The shares of Nuvoco Vistas Corp were trading at ₹510, lower by 10.53% at 10.00 a.m., on August 23. The grey market had hinted at a negative listing as unlisted shares of Nuvoco Vistas were commanding a marginal premium of ₹5-6 per share over the issue price of ₹570 apiece. The IPO ⁠— open between August 9 and August 11 ⁠— received tepid response from investors. It was subscribed 1.71 times on the last day of the bidding. Nuvoco, which is one of the largest cement players in east India, is a subsidiary of the Nirma Group, famous for its eponymous detergent brand. It is also one of the leading ready mix concrete manufacturers in India and has grown from being a cement focused entity to now a building materials company offering more than 50 products across cement, ready mix concrete and modern building materials sold under well-established brand names such as Concreto, Duraguard, Double Bull, ZeroM and Instamix. Adding to it is the fact that the company holds a dominant position in east India with 17% market share in terms of capacity. <div type="image" title="Nuvoco peers" height="900" width="1200" msid="85177110" hostid="261"></div> “The country’s demand growth is likely to be led by east and central regions and will be primarily from affordable housing and infrastructure creation and the cement sector is expected to largely benefit from it. Nuvoco Vistas, being the largest cement company in the east region, is well placed to capitalise on these opportunities...We recommend to subscribe the [sic] issue from a long-term perspective,” said analysts at Investmentz.com. One biggest drawback for the company is its high debt. As of December 31, 2020, its net debt stood at ₹7,259 crore. The company intends to use the proceeds from the fresh issue to pay some of its debt. The cement manufacturer’s valuation is at a discount to its large cap peers as it partially factors high debt and low returns on capital employed (ROCE), said a report by IDBI Capital. “But given [the] up-cycle in the cement industry and expectation of improvement in margin and balance sheet deleveraging over FY21-23 earnings estimate we recommend subscribe,” added the report. Nirma Group backed Nuvoco Vistas IPO: Analysts are bullish on the cement sector and recommend the IPO for long term

In the last week, four IPOs which came in took away ₹16,800 crore of liquidity, said Jyoti Roy, deputy vice president, equity Strategist at <keyword id="103837" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="angel-broking" source="Orion">Angel Broking</keyword>. “IPOs will probably have to wait for some time for market sentiment to improve. Now IPOs need to ensure they do not crowd the market at one time because that will lead to liquidity crunch. Investors will become more choosy after the scenario,” he added. In the midst of the <keyword id="6389936" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="pegasus">Pegasus</keyword> snooping controversy, the defence ministry on Monday said it did not have any transaction with the <keyword id="3598670" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="NSO-Group">NSO Group</keyword>, which sells the spyware. NSO Group, an Israeli surveillance software company, has been under increasing attack following allegations that its Pegasus software was used for surveillance of phones of people in several countries, including <keyword id="3658" type="COUNTRY" weightage="20" keywordseo="India">India</keyword>. "<keyword id="6369097" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="ministry-of-defence">Ministry of Defence</keyword> has not had any transaction with <keyword id="3598687" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="nso-group-technologies">NSO Group Technologies</keyword>," Minister of State for Defence Ajay Bhatt said while replying to a question in Rajya Sabha. He was asked whether the government had carried out any transaction with the NSO Group Technologies. Telling us more what the brand intends to achieve from their partnership with RCB, Abhishek Ganguly, Managing Director, PUMA India and Southeast Asia said, “We want to achieve three things. One, there is a commercial opportunity around merchandising, which we feel is still a bit under indexed in India. The sports culture is still work-in-progress, unlike football teams in more established sports countries. In India’s sports market, the merchandising is at a very nascent stage and we would like to substantially grow that with our RCB Association. We believe that with a global sportswear brand, RCB can really do a lot more on merchandising. And merchandising is very important as a part of fan engagement as well as building the culture of sport because if you follow a team or a player, you'd like to cherish and share merchandise. And we would like to connect with that audience and engage with them.” According to Licensing International, in 2019, the global licensed sports merchandise market was valued at approximately $292.8 billion, and was forecast to reach a value of 33.99 billion U.S. dollars by 2023. In India, sports merchandising makes revenue of barely $18 million. Now that most fans would be watching the game from home, it would be an additional challenge for the merchandising industry. Sharing why it is important to boost merchandising for the growth of sports marketing, Ganguly said, “The team merchandise market in India is pretty restricted. Today, it's a Rs 50-60 crore market and we believe that our association can substantially add to this even in the first year. And for sports culture, it is very important that this market grows because this has a trickle-down effect in the overall growth of sports in India, because the more people follow their heroes and their teams, there will be kids who take to sport more seriously, because it creates that emotional connect with their favorite team and their favorite player. So, we believe that this is something that has to grow in India to become a more established sports market.” Puma’s RCB merchandise will be promoted through its social media platforms, website, exclusive stores, multi-brand channels, large format stores like Lifestyle and Shoppers Stop and even in RCB Bar and Café. This year also marks Puma's entry in the IPL again. Puma was around for the first few seasons and had exited the league for a while. According to media <a href="https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/news/after-puma-adidas-to-bid-for-kit-sponsorship-rights-of-india-cricket-team/articleshow/77415609.cms">reports</a>, Nike, Adidas and Puma were keen to pick up RCB’s kit sponsorship last year as BCCI had decreased the base price to Rs 61 lakh per game, down around 30% from the Rs 88 lakh which Nike was shelling out earlier. With the pandemic, RCB’s value also dropped from Rs 595 crore in 2019 to Rs 536 crore in 2020. However, in 2020, RCB’s Title Sponsor was Muthoot Fincorp and the other brands associated with the franchise were Myntra, Jio, Exide, Nuvoco, Astral Pipes and Balkrishna Industries Ltd (BKT). Telling us why Puma chose to partner with RCB, Ganguly said, “We decided to come back to IPL and when we were considering which team to associate with, RCB landed on our table as a very natural choice. First and foremost, we tracked the popularity of the brand. RCB team is popular not just in Bangalore and Karnataka, but across India. And we found it to be one of the most popular and most followed teams. We also saw that it has got some huge social media following, and high engagement rates. So that gave us an idea that the fans really have a strong point of view and association with the club.” Puma also has a 9-year brand endorsement deal with RCB’s captain Virat Kohli signed in 2017.
