Aizawl, The <keyword id="65591" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mizoram">Mizoram</keyword> government has decided to allow reopening of schools for <keyword id="3216" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="students">students</keyword> of class 10 and 12 from January 22 and places of worship from February. According to the <keyword id="10036463" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="new-unlock-guidelines">new unlock guidelines</keyword> issued on Saturday schools and hostels will reopen from January 22 for students of class 10 and 12. The guidelines said churches will be allowed to open with 50% sitting capacity or 200 <keyword id="2278432" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="attendees">attendees</keyword> on every Saturday and Sunday noon time from first February. Churches in Christian majority Mizoram are closed since March 22 last year due to COVID-19 pandemic. The new guidelines also said any student intending to join his or her hostel must produce a COVID-19 negative certificate obtained within 96 hours before entry into the hostel. Higher institutions for undergraduate and postgraduate students will be allowed to open from February and training or coaching institutes will also open with either 50 per cent sitting capacity or not more than 50 students from now onwards, the order said. The <keyword id="2378610" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="maximum-number">maximum number</keyword> of attendees in funeral and marriage reception has been raised from 35 to 100. The number of attendees in indoor games, cinema hall, auditorium, community hall and social events (indoor) is fixed at 50. However, games and sports practices and social events held outdoors will be allowed with 100 attendees. In any function related to organisation or party, the number of attendees allowed is 100 but deputy commissioners can allow up to 150 attendees by special permission. All business shops, establishments and commercial activities will function normally under strict COVID-19 protocols. Any individual, who is returning from other parts of the country, will have to be placed under <keyword id="58679" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Quarantine">quarantine</keyword> at designated facility but those who produce <keyword id="9043621" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="RT-PCR">RT-PCR</keyword> or TreuNat labs negative test certificate, which is not older than four days, will be exempted from the quarantine protocol. Any state resident, who goes outside and return to the state within four days, need not go for quarantine. However, any person returning from Europe will be placed under quarantine at designated facilities and they will not be allowed for home quarantine facility. Night curfew will remain in force in Aizawl and other district headquarters from 8.30 pm to 4.30 am every day till further orders, it added. In a statement released for the media, <keyword id="5244245" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Multiplex-Association">Multiplex Association</keyword> of India said, “At a time when a significant part of the economy is being opened up, including domestic travel, offices, high street, markets, shopping complexes, etc., the Multiplex Association of India (MAI) feels dismayed that cinemas and multiplexes continue to remain in the list of prohibited activities under the Central Government’s Unlock 2.0 Guidelines. The Association finds it highly demotivating and disheartening when in fact, Cinemas and Multiplexes can become an example of how social distancing guidelines and crowd control can be best exercised in a safe and planned manner. As compared to the unorganised retail and shops that have been opened up, multiplexes and cinema are part of the organised sector, playing hosts to ‘revenue paying’ customers only and hence, in a better position to limit crowds unlike marketplaces and deploy all the mechanisms and guidelines for crowd control and social distancing.” “The multiplex industry in India employs more than 200,000 people directly. We are the backbone of the Indian Film Industry accounting nearly 60% of revenues of film business. The livelihoods of more than a million people – right from the spot boys to makeup artists, musicians, designers, technicians and engineers to cinema employees to directors and actors – hinges on the survival of Indian cinema. The lockdown has literally brought the entire industry to a standstill with losses mounting every passing day. An early decision to allow cinemas to open up will only help the mobilization of resources in the film industry’s ecosystem and would lead to gradual resurrection. In fact even after opening up, we anticipate at least 3-6 months before things return anywhere close to normal. On one hand where programming of new content will take some time to kick in; movie buffs on the other hand are expected to take a cautious approach before returning to cinemas. These are real challenges that the industry will have to overcome and we believe together, with the support of the government, we will be able to overcome them,” it further read. Globally, countries like France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands, Austria, Hong Kong, UAE, US, etc., and more recently, Belgium and Malaysia have opened cinemas. To which, MAI said, “Many countries have opened cinemas to the public with implementation of the highest degree of safety protocols and have seen a warm response by audiences. In effect, more than 20 major cinema markets around the world have started operating. MAI is of the firm belief that, there must be a start and the unlocking of cinemas in non-containment zones across India should be done post haste – there must be a beginning and an opportunity must be given to us, just like some of the other sectors.”

According to WABetainfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp in Beta, the feature will be very helpful specifically for Pixel 4 users as the device comes without a fingerprint sensor and only supports facial recognition. Once the feature rolls out, the "fingerprint lock" settings will be renamed to the more general "biometric lock". WhatsApp plans to step up security with face unlock support on Android

New Delhi, In a reprieve for many people seeking to resume travel through public transport, <keyword id="2835665" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="The-Ministry-of-Home-Affairs">the Ministry of Home Affairs</keyword> (<keyword id="65491" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="MHA">MHA</keyword>) on Saturday decided to allow the resumption of metro operations from September 7 in a graded manner. The MHA has issued new guidelines for opening up of more activities in areas outside the containment Zones. Unlock 4, will come into effect from September 1. "Metro rail will be allowed to operate with effect from 7th September 2020 in a graded manner, by <keyword id="9255332" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="the-ministry-of-housing-and-urban-affairs">the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs</keyword> (MOHUA)/ Ministry of Railways (MOR), in consultation with MHA. In this regard, Standard Operating Procedure (<keyword id="50548" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sop">SOP</keyword>) will be issued by MOHUA", said a statement issued by MHA. The new guidelines, issued today, are based on feedback received from states and UTs, and extensive consultations held with related central ministries and departments. However, schools, colleges, educational and coaching institutions will continue to remain closed for students and regular class activity upto September 30. The Centre has also permitted social/ academic/ sports/ entertainment/ cultural/ religious/ political functions and other congregations with a ceiling of 100 persons, with effect from September 21. However, such limited gatherings can be held with mandatory directives like wearing of face masks, social distancing, provision for thermal scanning and hand washing or use of sanitiser. Open air theatres will also be permitted from September 21.

The countrywide <keyword id="91743" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="lockdown">lockdown</keyword> in containment zones has been extended till June 30, while hospitality services, hotels and shopping malls will be allowed to open from June 8, the Union home ministry said on Saturday. Termed 'Unlock 1', the Centre on Saturday issued fresh guidelines relaxing the nationwide lockdown, the fourth phase of which ends on May 31. In the new directives, the Union home ministry said re-opening of prohibited activities in areas outside containment zones will be done in a phased manner from June 1. <div type="Article" hostid="261" msid="76109422" title="Lockdown extended till June 30 in containment zones only all over India" mstype="2" mssubtype="0"></div> It said the lockdown, the fourth phase of which ends on Sunday, will remain in force in containment zones till June 30. The decision to restart international air travel, metro trains, cinema halls, gyms, political gatherings will be done after assessing the situation, it said. Schools, colleges, educational, training, coaching institutions will be opened after consultations with states and Union Territories, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) guildelines said. It added that states and UTs can hold consultations with parents and other stakeholders on reopening of academic institutions from July. New Delhi, June 8 (IANS) Bike-taxi service provider Rapido on Monday said it has resumed normal operations in close to 100 cities in India following the new guidelines announced by the government for unlock 1.0. Resuming these operations will bring relief to driver partners who are solely dependent on the bike taxi service for their daily income and livelihood, the company said in a statement. "Being the most affordable, convenient and accessible last-mile connectivity option for millions of users, we are geared up to ensure the safety and protection of our customers as well as our Captains (driver partners). We will be closely monitoring the adherence of all mandatory and hygiene guidelines issued by the authorities by all our stakeholders," the company said in a statement. Captains or drivers need to install the Aarogya Setu app before they go on-duty to start accepting orders and have been asked to wear a mask at all times as well as carry sanitizers, hair net in addition to the mandatory helmets. Captains are also asked to maintain personal hygiene and sanitise their bikes at regular intervals, especially sanitise the pillion seat before on boarding customers.
