<keyword id="6373044" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Forbes">Forbes</keyword> has come out with its annual list of America's 60 wealthiest and most successful self-made women entrepreneurs, called the '<keyword id="3391139" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Americas-Richest-Self-made-Women">America's Richest Self -made Women</keyword>' list, and to make India proud, it features two Indian-origin women. 
 <keyword id="2874666" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Neerja-Sethi">Neerja Sethi</keyword>, who was born in India and co-founded IT consulting and outsourcing firm <keyword id="13741" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Syntel">Syntel</keyword> with her husband Bharat Desai, got the 16th rank on this list, while <keyword id="554849" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Jayshree-Ullal">Jayshree Ullal</keyword>, president and CEO of <keyword id="356018" type="COMPANY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Arista-Networks">Arista Networks</keyword> grabbed the 30th rank. 
 
The list is topped by Diane Hendricks, the owner of ABC Supply, America’s largest wholesale distributor of roofing and siding, with a net worth of $4.9 billion. Last year, with a net worth of $1.2 billion, Hendricks had got the second spot on the list. 
 
This year around, the list includes 60 names, 10 more than last year. 
 
Talking of Neerja Sethi, the 61-year old Vice President of corporate affairs has a net worth of $1.1 billion, with her company employing more than 25,000 people and boasting of a recent market cap of $3.6 billion. 
 
Ullal, on the other hand, has a net worth of $470 million as the president and CEO of Arista Networks, the role she acquired in 2008. It was the time when the company had no revenues and employed less than 50 people.

Two Indian-origin women make it to Forbes’ list of richest self-made women

Two Indian-origin women have made it to <keyword id="6373044" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Forbes">Forbes</keyword>' inaugural list of America's 50 richest self-made women, sharing the honour with high-achievers such as <keyword id="6354576" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Facebook">Facebook</keyword> COO <keyword id="611995" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Sheryl-Sandberg">Sheryl Sandberg</keyword>, media mogul Oprah Winfrey and singer Beyonce. 
 India-born Neerja Sethi, with a net worth of USD 1.1 billion, has been ranked 14th on the list of the most successful self-made women in the US while London-born <keyword id="554849" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Jayshree-Ullal">Jayshree Ullal</keyword> comes in at the 30th spot with a USD 470 million net worth. 
 Sethi, 60 co-founded IT consulting and outsourcing company <keyword id="13741" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Syntel">Syntel</keyword> with her husband, billionaire <keyword id="780430" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Bharat-Desai">Bharat Desai</keyword>, in 1980. She served as Syntel's treasurer during its first 16 years of operations and is currently the vice president of corporate affairs, a role she has had since the company's inception, Forbes said. 
 
Through their family foundation, the couple pledged USD 1 million in 2014 to the University of Michigan to develop a start-up accelerator. Ullal became president and CEO of <keyword id="356018" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Arista-Networks">Arista Networks</keyword>, a company that has emerged as one of Silicon Valley's most valuable networking firms. Forbes said Ullal "is one of America's wealthiest female executives". 
 
"She took slightly more than an engineering team doing some good technology and turned it into the thriving network switch company it is today," Forbes quoted Arista co-founder David Cheriton as saying. 
 
Born in London and raised in New Delhi, Ullal has donated some shares to a family foundation created in honour of her sister, who died of lung cancer, Forbes said. 
 
The first ever list of the nation's top 50 most successful, self-made women as measured by their net worths includes entrepreneurs, CEOs, entertainers, designers and an author. 
 
Elizabeth Holmes, who dropped out of Stanford to launch blood testing firm Theranos in 2003, tops the list with a net worth of USD 4.5 billion. At 31, she is also the world's youngest female billionaire. 
 Other notables who made the cut include Eren Ozmen, who is chairman of Sierra Nevada, the biggest female-owned federal contractor in the US, creator of American Girl dolls Pleasant Rowland, prolific novelist <keyword id="821148" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Nora-Roberts">Nora Roberts</keyword>, and Martine Rothblatt, a transgender woman who founded and runs biotech firm United Therapeutics. 
 The list also includes <keyword id="6528042" type="CITY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Hewlett-Packard">Hewlett-Packard</keyword> CEO Meg Whitman ranked 10, singer Madonna (28), designer Vera Wang (34) and Yahoo CEO <keyword id="319703" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Marissa-Mayer">Marissa Mayer</keyword> (36).

Meet Neerja Sethi and Jayshree Ullal, who're on Forbes' richest, self-made women in the US list

Forbes released its list of world’s 100 richest people in technology and only two Indians, Wipro Chairman <keyword id="6419840" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Azim-Premji">Azim Premji</keyword> and HCL co-founder <keyword id="44903" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Shiv-Nadar">Shiv Nadar</keyword>, made it to the list. 
 
These two billionaires from India were in top 20 ahead of Google boss Eric Schmidt and Uber CEO Travis Kalanick. 
 
The Forbes '100 Richest Tech Billionaires in The World 2016' list has been topped by Microsoft founder Bill Gates with an estimated fortune of USD 78 billion. 
 
Premji ranks 13th on the list with a net worth of USD 16 billion and Nadar comes in on the 17th spot with USD 11.6 billion of net worth. Two Indian-American technology czars Symphony Technology Group CEO Romesh Wadhwani and founders of IT consulting and outsourcing company Syntel Bharat Desai and his wife Neerja Sethi are also on the list. 
 
Forbes said Premji, who heads India's third-largest outsourcer, Wipro has been on a buying spree in the past year to boost growth. Premji's son Rishad, who heads strategy and sits on the board, also oversees Wipro's USD 100 million venture capital fund. 
 
Nadar co-founded HCL, which is reportedly mulling a US listing, Forbes said adding that Nadar also owns HCL TalentCare, a skills-development firm that provides training to new graduates. His latest venture is a USD 500 million fund to invest in startups and US healthcare tech firms. 
 
Wadhwani comes in on the 67th position with a USD 3 billion net worth. A recipient of the 2013 Forbes India Non-Resident Philanthropist Award, Wadhwani announced in 2015 that he plans to commit up to USD 1 billion to fund entrepreneurship initiatives in India. 
 
Forbes said despite a tumultuous year for the stock market, "it was a good time to be a tech billionaire". 
 
The titans on Forbes' second annual list of the world's richest in technology are worth a combined USD 892 billion, six per cent more than a year ago. Just over half of the 100 richest in tech are from the US, including eight of the top 10 richest on the list. 
 China has the second highest number of tech tycoons, with 19 people worth a combined USD 132.7 billion. The richest Chinese member is Alibaba founder <keyword id="424838" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Jack-Ma">Jack Ma</keyword>, who is on the 8th spot and has an estimated net worth of USD 25.8 billion. Canada has five tech billionaires and Germany has four. 
 
Forbes said the second richest person in tech Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos is also the biggest gainer on the list this year and has an estimated USD 66.2 billion fortune, an increase of USD 18.4 billion since this list was released last year. That puts him ahead of Oracle chairman Larry Ellison, who comes in on the 4th spot. 
 Ellison was also beaten by Facebook founder and CEO <keyword id="6354630" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Mark-Zuckerberg">Mark Zuckerberg</keyword>, who climbed from fourth to third place thanks to a 30 percent jump in the value of Facebook's stock; he is now also California's richest person, another title that previously belonged to Ellison.
