The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Tuesday signed a <keyword id="78814" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="memorandum-of-understanding">memorandum of understanding</keyword> (<keyword id="6368586" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="MoU">MoU</keyword>) with the <keyword id="44991" type="COMPANY" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ghaziabad">Ghaziabad</keyword> Development Authority (GDA) for the 9.41 km long Metro expansion from <keyword id="185815" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Dilshad-Garden">Dilshad Garden</keyword> in Delhi to Ghaziabad’s <keyword id="523007" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="new-bus-stand">New Bus Stand</keyword>. The cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 1,770 crore. DMRC's director of business development, SD Sharma, and GDA vice-chairman, Santosh Yadav, signed the MoU in the presence of <keyword id="2347281" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="80" keywordseo="Delhi-Metro-MD-Mangu-Singh">Delhi Metro MD Mangu Singh</keyword> at the <keyword id="1381796" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ghaziabad-Authority">Ghaziabad authority</keyword>'s headquarters. The corridor is expected to be completed by June 2017. 

	According to Metro officials, work will be expedited to commission the project ahead of schedule. Delhi Metro MD Mangu Singh said, "Work on technical studies, including soil profiling and ensuring proper power supply for the project, will immediately start. The actual work on ground can be seen in the next three months.”

You can check it out here.</a></li></ul>The first thing Samik Chandarana needs you to understand is that machine learning will not answer all your prayers. That might be unwelcome news to the thousands of executives who have seized on the buzzword and its cousin, artificial intelligence, to make their old companies sound new again. And it certainly sounds odd coming from someone like Chandarana, who has worked in JPMorgan's corporate and investment bank since 2017 as <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/jpmorgan-created-a-new-position-to-unleash-emerging-technology-onto-its-investment-bank-2017-10">head of data analytics, applied artificial intelligence and machine learning</a>.But it's a key lesson when one considers the increasingly lofty expectations for new tech. Wall Street saved $41.1 billion using AI in 2018, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/value-of-ai-at-banks-to-reach-300-billion-but-jobs-at-risk-2019-4">according to an April report from IHS Markit, </a> and AI's business value is seen reaching $300 billion globally by 2030. So how exactly does a company deploy the technology?<h2>Support system</h2>Chandarana - along with fellow JPMorgan executives Lidia Mangu and Manuela Veloso - has taken a measured approach. After careful consideration, Chandarana decided to position the tech as a support system for business lines within JPMorgan's investment bank as opposed to dictating how, when, and where it should be implemented. One example is DeepX, a market-making algorithm previously named LOXM that uses machine learning techniques to decide when to execute orders and in what size, depending on market liquidity. The project was originally conceived by the equities trading unitCK, and pulled in expertise from Chandarana's operation as needed. The technology went live in 2017. "They had the main expertise, they knew the business." Chandarana told Business Insider. "My day-to-day contribution in terms of what they were already doing is quite low aside from making sure that the centralized resources and resource pool that I'm bringing together is there to help them accelerate."That's not always the case. Sometimes senior executives will hear about something new and force subordinates to find ways of working with it, and the technology becomes more of a marketing tool than something of use to the business. Just look at blockchain, the decentralized ledger technology that's been used for breeding and collecting digital cats and tracking lettuce. <h2>A lot to lose</h2>With a <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/heres-a-breakdown-of-how-much-us-banks-are-spending-on-technology-2019-3">reported tech budget of $11.4 billion in 2019</a>, JPMorgan has Wall Street's biggest warchest to potentially invest in AI and ML. That also means it's got a lot of money to lose if it does not develop and apply the technology wisely. "You can't build a utility for the sake of a utility," Chandarana said. "You build it up use case by use case and make sure it has some form of commercial impact at each point."Chandarana has developed a three-layer approach to evaluating, testing and incorporating artificial intelligence techniques. He oversees one layer, while Mangu, JPMorgan's head of machine learning center of excellence, and Veloso, the bank's head of AI research, sit atop the others. From markets and payments all the way through to operations, data science teams work with specific business groups to understand what they do and how artificial intelligence might help them.Chandarana wanted to avoid creating parallel teams for problems that would be better tackled together."You're guiding people who have relationships and deep-seated knowledge about the business to try and advance the agenda and co-design the solution with the businesses they serve," Chandarana said. Mangu, who spent 17 years at IBM's Watson Research Center before joining JPMorgan, leads the middle layer, which consists of technique experts in various disciplines of artificial intelligence. Whether it's natural language processing, speech-to-text, or deep learning, the team supports the first layer by translating white papers or research into useable computer code that can be deployed across the bank. While Mangu's team stays on top of the most current themes, Chandarana said the bank won't use a technology simply just because it's trendy. "A lot of people use the words cutting-edge or bleeding-edge technology," Chandarana said. "We owe it to our customers to deploy technology in a controlled manner. Therefore it's about appropriate technology not always classified as cutting or bleeding edge. The word 'appropriate' is important."The top layer is the most theoretical. It is made up of the research team, led by Veloso, a top academic who <a href="https://www.jpmorgan.com/country/US/en/detail/1320567076211">was hired by the bank in 2018</a>. Her team tackles issues like the ability to explain how algorithms actually came to a solution, known as interpretability, and discussions around ethics and fairness. Veloso's team also pitches in on projects in the first two layers where deeper research is needed. <h2>'Just a little bit better educated' </h2>And there's further collaboration as well, Chandarana added. There is Rob Casper, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/rob-casper-jpmorgan-data-head-profile-managing-financial-account-info-2019-5">the JPMorgan's chief data officer</a>, whose team plays a critical role by cleaning, collecting and collating the necessary data. Whether it's a matter of the data not existing in the proper form - or at all - or a project not being worth pursuing at all, everything needs to be written down so the same mistakes aren't repeated. And employees need to be able to find it. "Making that discoverable means that we're just a little bit better educated than we were yesterday," Chandarana said. "Maybe that means people can collaborate and come up with new ideas about how to attack problems. Comfort food can fix any bad day. It's typically high in sugar, fat, and/or salt. And the beauty of comfort food is that it varies from person to person. It's rooted in where you're from and who you grew up with. We asked 20 people from different cultural backgrounds to share what comfort food is to them. I'll start with mine. My favorite comfort food is kimchi jjigae, or kimchi stew. I'm Korean American, and, growing, up my mom made kimchi jjigae pretty often for dinner. My mom's kimchi jjigae has that son-mat. Son-mat in Korean means, like, hand taste. The best way I can describe it is my mom's special touch. Even if I try to make my mom's kimchi jjigae here in New York City, I can't get that taste because it lacks my mom's special touch. So, basically, the flavors that you're getting are, like, spicy, salty, fatty, sour. It's basically everything that I crave when I'm missing my mom. Tomi Obebe: I'm Nigerian, and one of my favorite comfort foods has to be amala and okra soup. To make it, you take some yam flour and you pour it into boiling hot water, stir it up very quickly, and it gets to this nice thick consistency. From there, you portion it out to whatever size you'd like for your meal. And then you can dip it into your soup of choice. And not only is it a super-tasty meal, but after you eat it, [snaps] it hits you, and it puts you in one of those nice food comas. I remember sneaking into the kitchen as a toddler and trying to tear off small pieces of amala, or, like, the eru seeds that they put in the soup and taking it back to my playroom. So, of course, now anytime that I have it, I just automatically think of home. Sarah Isoke: I'm Trinidadian, and my favorite comfort food is bake and saltfish. Bake and saltfish is a dish comprised of bake, which is dough rolled out, and a fish called bacalao. It's a salted cod that we chop up, we boil, and we sauté with sweet tomatoes and sweet onions. I think it's my favorite comfort food just because it brings back a memory of my grandmother. She used to own a daycare, and whenever she was making something with dough, like bake, she would roll up little pieces of the dough and give it to the children to play with. And we would just go crazy for those little pieces of dough. Matthew Ferere: My favorite Haitian comfort food is griot. Griot is fried pork shoulder that has a special cut where it has just the right amount of fat and just the right amount of skin on it. You would season it well, bake it briefly, and then fry it. So, after that, it'll get that nice crispy on the outside, tender on the inside taste. I can remember being a child, you know, at every Haitian gathering, family party, if you had griot on your plate that night, you knew it was gonna be a good night. Lisa Paradise: My comfort food has always been pastina, which is like a really unhealthy version of Italian wedding soup. It has no vegetables. It's really just pasta and meatballs. So, the way that my mom makes her meatballs is really what I always crave. She does a mix of pork, of ground pork, ground beef, and ground veal. And then she adds in just five ingredients. So, the five ingredients are salt, pepper, garlic powder, parsley, and cheese. It's not just, like, Parmesan cheese; it's always pecorino Romano cheese. That's, like, the go-to key ingredient. Whenever I go home or whenever I'm, like, sad or sick or whatever, that's what I want my mom to make me, or that's what I, like, want to eat. Naja Newell: I'm from New York, and my favorite comfort food is grilled cheese. Growing up as picky eater, grilled cheese was the No. 1 thing I could get from every single family member and every single restaurant and it be almost the exact same every single time. So, today when I make grilled cheese for myself, I just use white or wheat bread, and I'll use white American cheese. It reminds me of being best friends with my mom. Alyson Brown: I'm Alyson Brown, and today we're gonna talk about beef patties, because that's my favorite Jamaican comfort food. Growing up, my father used to bring home, like, a box of beef patties. And he used to put them on the table and it was first come, first serve, and if you did not get your beef patty, you would be tight. I love beef patties because of how diverse they are. You could get a beef patty, a callaloo patty, a ackee patty, any type of patty. My family is Jamaican. The're from Jamaica. I'm American, I was born here. But when we go to Jamaica, it's over. The patties are, like, hot and ready. They delicious. Manuel Silva-Paulus: I'm from New York, I'm Dominican, and my favorite comfort food is mangu. Mangu is basically like mashed potatoes, but instead of potatoes, it's plantains. And it's a breakfast food, so most Dominicans will eat it in the morning. Mangu is typically eaten with cebollas on top, which is onions; queso frito on the side, which is fried cheese; salami, which is a type of meat; and usually, like, some people will get a fried egg on it. Personally, I love eggs, so I always get them on it. The reason why mangu is my favorite comfort food, besides the fact that it's delicious, is because it just reminds me of being in the Dominican Republic and just, like, being around great weather, sunny, like, just an all-around great vibe. Selena Singh: My comfort food is pepperpot. It came from Guyana's first people, known as the Amerindians. Pepperpot is a meal that is boiled with cassareep and spices and any choice of meat, but my personal favorite is beef. It can be eaten with anything; bread, cassava bread, rice, anything you would like. Pepperpot reminds me of Christmastime and all the family time and a rich culture in Guyana. Samantha Lee: My favorite comfort food is congee, a type of rice porridge. It's often eaten with yau ja gwai, also known as a Chinese doughnut. There are also many different types of congee. I've had it plain, with dried scallops, with preserved egg and salted pork, and just whitefish. Growing up, my mom would make this for breakfast some days, and she would also make it for me when I was sick and I couldn't keep any solid foods down. My mom passed away in January of 2018, so the process of making congee and eating it reminds me of her love, her dedication, and her patience as my mother. Isabella Paoletto: I'm Mexican American, and my favorite comfort food is tamales. Every year, my grandma and her sisters get together and they all make tamales for us to eat on Christmas Eve, so it really reminds me of home and of Christmastime and of my family, so it's really special. My family makes the dish with shredded pork in a red chili sauce with green olives. Basically, right now only my grandma and my aunts know how to make it, but they've started to teach me and my mom and my sisters how to do it, so that way, we can pass it on to the next generation. Harry Kersh: My favorite comfort food is Marmite on toast. It just has this really rich, really savory, and quite salty flavor. And it's just really comforting, especially when it's put on some thickly buttered toast. I have very vivid memories of eating Marmite on toast, particularly when I was feeling a bit sick. I had an operation when I was 3 years old. I went under general anesthetic. When I woke up, the nurse said, "Is there anything we can get you?" And my first request was Marmite on toast. Nisha Stickles: My favorite comfort food is kuay teaw, or Thai noodle soup. Thai noodle soup is the Thai equivalent of what a deli sandwich is to New Yorkers. And you can customize each kuay teaw order to be your own. My go-to order is kuay teaw ped, so duck noodle soup with sen mee, which are the rice noodles that are thinner than the ones you have in pho. And I only will eat it in this one noodle shop, and I refuse to have it elsewhere because they just make it so special. And it sucks because I can't really replicate that experience in any Thai restaurant here since they don't really specialize in that. Jennifer Hernandez: My favorite comfort food are Colombian arepas. Arepas are cornmeal patties that are typically made with salt, water, and masarepa. This is my favorite comfort food because when I was a kid, my dad and I didn't have matching schedules at all. So by the time he would get home, I was already sleeping, and we wouldn't see each other till the weekend. And at the weekends, our favorite family-time activity was to make arepas. It was also the first meal I learned how to make. So, we're gathered in our tiny kitchen. Mold them together, put it in the stove top, and then once they were ready and hot, my dad would put butter on top, sprinkle it with a little bit of cheese, and it was delicious. And it's still one of my favorite meals. Cory Villegas: My favorite comfort food is Puerto Rican pasteles de yuca. In Spanish, we call it a masa. It's like a doughy kind of thing. It has, like... you can put stuff in it. So, you can put, like, meat, chicken, you can put vegetables. I mean, they wrap it around a banana leaf, and then they boil it. And we make them in bulk. I mean, it takes two to three days to make. It's my favorite comfort food because my aunts and my mom, they sit around, we talk, and they're making this dish that is so reminiscent of our Puerto Rican culture. Caroline Aghajanian: My comfort food is lahmajun. It's a thin flatbread, almost like pizza, that's enjoyed in and around the Middle East. It's typically made by taking small dough balls and flattening them into really thin pieces, and then it's topped with beef or lamb, some vegetables, and spices, and then it's cooked in the oven for just a few minutes. My family and I typically buy a dozen or so of them from Armenian bakeries or grocery stores here in LA because they make them really tasty. Arturo Valenzuela: My comfort food is aji de gallina. It's a spicy chicken mixture that my grandma used to make all the time. A yellow pepper that's found in Peru, aji amarillo, is mixed with, you sauté some onions, then you're gonna add some chicken broth, milk, and crackers or bread. It's a nice little paste sauce, and then with some boiled chicken that you shredded. Aji de gallina reminds me of just Peru in general. Living there, my grandfather had 50, 80 chickens, and my grandma would just grab one, and it would be fresh. Ruqayyah Moynihan: I'm British Pakistani, and my favorite comfort food is a dish called aloo ki tarkari. The reason I love this dish so much is because it's a curry. It's very carby as opposed to one with lots of gravy. My mum usually adds to it aloo, potatoes; mirch, chili; namak, salt; haldi, turmeric; and then she adds something called panch phoron, which is a blend of five spices. You blend the spices, you fry them, you add your chopped-up potatoes, add water, boil the water off, and let the potatoes break up. It's really heartwarming, very flavorsome. And it also reminds me of coming home from school and cooking with my mom, learning to cook with my naani, my mom's mom, who passed away a few years back. You can eat it at any time of the day. It's without a doubt the food that I miss the most because it's just the perfect snack. Feijoada is basically a giant black bean soup. It's definitely something that I grew up eating, and it's very iconic in Brazil. Almost everyone eats it. Aynour Elkasaby: My favorite comfort food has to be ful, which is fava beans. And it's usually served hot. And it's really easy to make, so that's why we make it all the time. It contains tomatoes, onions, some people put tahini in it, and we put in it a lot of spices. Usually, people eat it with pita bread. It's my favorite comfort food because, over the summer, my grandpa would make it for breakfast a lot. So we'd wake up, and it would be there. Research firm Autonomous estimates the industry broadly will be able to shave costs by as much as 22%, or $1 trillion, by 2030 through the use of AI. It's still early days, though, and right now, applications of the technology are far less sweeping.<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/bank-of-america-q1-2019-digital-increased-engagement-2019-4"> Big banks like Bank of America</a> and Capital One are using AI for chatbots and voice assistants that can help customers easily answer simple questions about their finances (such as pulling up their account balance or scheduling a payment). PayPal is<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/paypal-cfo-talks-about-ai-in-customer-service-2019-5"> using similar tech to help customers get more details about transactions they've made</a>, so they can avoid having to pick up the phone and speak to a human at the company - savings of about $25 million a year. Firms are also using the tech to make better informed decisions about who to lend to, by capturing a more comprehensive, data-backed snapshot of a potential borrower, rather than just relying on a credit score. Credit card company<a href="https://markets.businessinsider.com/news/stocks/discover-partners-with-zestfinance-to-implement-ai-based-underwriting-platform-1028000670"> Discover Financial Services, for example, is teaming up with AI software startup ZestFinance</a> to improve lending decisions for personal loans and cut default rates by looking at unusual characteristics such as a history of discount store shopping. Banks are feverishly cleaning and organizing data sets, forming data lakes and embracing the cloud technologies needed to measure massive data sets. Execs hope their machines will eventually be able to scour years of market data or Bloomberg chats to deliver clients tailored trades or investment ideas. On the investing side, star portfolio managers from big quantitative hedge funds like DE Shaw and TwoSigma are<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hedge-fund-investors-are-getting-excited-about-the-possibilities-of-machine-learning-theres-a-good-chance-they-dont-understand-it-2019-5"> using AI to crunch massive amounts of data to find signals</a> and patterns too difficult for even large teams of analysts to pick out. The hope is that hedge funds can make better investments decisions then simply relying on intuition and fundamental research as they have historically done, and help reverse a trend of tepid returns. It remains to be seen if these bets are panning out. The Eureka AI Hedge Fund Index which tracks performance of firms using AI posted returns of -5% in 2018, which was lower than the broader hedge fund index that saw -4% returns. Current rules-based approaches for flagging suspicious accounts or transactions are notoriously flawed and result in lots of useless, time-consuming false positives. AI has the potential to suss out and adapt to criminal-behavior patterns more quickly and efficiently.<h3>Improving and streamlining customer service interactions: Growing</h3>Banks are using algorithms or chat bots to handle easy, quick questions to save time and money in their call centers. The goal of these voice assistants is to get smarter over time the more they speak with customers so they can deliver personalized insights. The goal, in time, is to provide sophisticated financial advice by analyzing your spending habits. Banks are also working with startups that employ machine learning to automate for customers the process of redeeming rewards and benefits. <h3>Enhancing investment processes: Nascent</h3>Through the use of AI, hedge-fund portfolio managers can review as much as 1,000 times more data than they could before. While humans who will still be making the trades, data is increasingly being used to help funds make smarter investment decisions. If hedge funds can efficiently analyze data points from SEC filings and political speeches without having to actually read the documents, that's time freed up for them to spend talking with CEOs and building models. For quant funds in particular, it increases the amount of data that goes into the trading algorithm and how quickly the algorithm can change or react to changes in the market.<h2>JPMorgan doesn't want to get burned by AI and machine learning. Here's how it avoids costly mistakes.</h2>The first thing Samik Chandarana needs you to understand is that machine learning will not answer all your prayers. That might be unwelcome news to the thousands of executives who have seized on the buzzword and its cousin, artificial intelligence, to make their old companies sound new again. And it certainly sounds odd coming from someone like Chandarana, who has worked in JPMorgan's corporate and investment bank since 2017 as<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/jpmorgan-created-a-new-position-to-unleash-emerging-technology-onto-its-investment-bank-2017-10"> head of data analytics, applied artificial intelligence and machine learning</a>.But it's a key lesson when one considers the increasingly lofty expectations for new tech. Wall Street saved $41.1 billion using AI in 2018,<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/value-of-ai-at-banks-to-reach-300-billion-but-jobs-at-risk-2019-4"> according to an April report from IHS Markit</a>, and AI's business value is seen reaching $300 billion globally by 2030. So how exactly does a company deploy the technology?Chandarana - along with fellow JPMorgan executives Lidia Mangu and Manuela Veloso - has taken a measured approach. After careful consideration, Chandarana decided to position the tech as a support system for business lines within JPMorgan's investment bank as opposed to dictating how, when, and where it should be implemented. One example is DeepX, a market-making algorithm previously named LOXM that uses machine learning techniques to decide when to execute orders and in what size, depending on market liquidity. The project was originally conceived by the equities trading unitCK, and pulled in expertise from Chandarana's operation as needed. The technology went live in 2017. "They had the main expertise, they knew the business." Chandarana told Business Insider. "My day-to-day contribution in terms of what they were already doing is quite low aside from making sure that the centralized resources and resource pool that I'm bringing together is there to help them accelerate."That's not always the case. Sometimes senior executives will hear about something new and force subordinates to find ways of working with it, and the technology becomes more of a marketing tool than something of use to the business. Just look at blockchain, the decentralized ledger technology that's been used for breeding and collecting digital cats and tracking lettuce. With a<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/heres-a-breakdown-of-how-much-us-banks-are-spending-on-technology-2019-3"> reported tech budget of $11.4 billion in 2019</a>, JPMorgan has Wall Street's biggest war chest to potentially invest in AI and ML. That also means it's got a lot of money to lose if it does not develop and apply the technology wisely."You can't build a utility for the sake of a utility," Chandarana said. "You build it up use case by use case and make sure it has some form of commercial impact at each point."Chandarana has developed a three-layer approach to evaluating, testing and incorporating artificial intelligence techniques. He oversees one layer, while Mangu, JPMorgan's head of machine learning center of excellence, and Veloso, the bank's head of AI research, sit atop the others. Chandarana runs the bottom layer, which pairs data scientists with front- or back-office colleagues working directly with internal or external clients. From markets and payments all the way through to operations, data science teams work with specific business groups to understand what they do and how artificial intelligence might help them.Chandarana wanted to avoid creating parallel teams for problems that would be better tackled together."You're guiding people who have relationships and deep-seated knowledge about the business to try and advance the agenda and co-design the solution with the businesses they serve," Chandarana said. Mangu, who spent 17 years at IBM's Watson Research Center before joining JPMorgan, leads the middle layer, which consists of technique experts in various disciplines of artificial intelligence. Whether it's natural language processing, speech-to-text, or deep learning, the team supports the first layer by translating white papers or research into useable computer code that can be deployed across the bank. While Mangu's team stays on top of the most current themes, Chandarana said the bank won't use a technology simply just because it's trendy. "A lot of people use the words cutting-edge or bleeding-edge technology," Chandarana said. "We owe it to our customers to deploy technology in a controlled manner. Therefore it's about appropriate technology not always classified as cutting or bleeding edge. The word 'appropriate' is important."The top layer is the most theoretical. It is made up of the research team, led by Veloso, a top academic who<a href="https://www.jpmorgan.com/country/US/en/detail/1320567076211"> was hired by the bank in 2018</a>. Her team tackles issues like the ability to explain how algorithms actually came to a solution, known as interpretability, and discussions around ethics and fairness. Veloso's team also pitches in on projects in the first two layers where deeper research is needed. And there's further collaboration as well, Chandarana added. There is Rob Casper,<a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/rob-casper-jpmorgan-data-head-profile-managing-financial-account-info-2019-5"> the JPMorgan's chief data officer</a>, whose team plays a critical role by cleaning, collecting and collating the necessary data. Then there is Apoorv Saxena, JPMorgan's global head of the AIX technology team, whose group offers the ingredients for AI projects from the technology perspective. Saxena plays a role in setting the appropriate resources and project timelines. The goal of the strategy is to successfully implement AI technology, but it can be just as important to identify where the tech shouldn't be deployed. JPMorgan has set up a system of logging each project. Whether it's a matter of the data not existing in the proper form - or at all - or a project that isn't worth pursuing, everything needs to be written down so the same mistakes aren't repeated. And employees need to be able to find it. "Making that discoverable means that we're just a little bit better educated than we were yesterday," Chandarana said. "Maybe that means people can collaborate and come up with new ideas about how to attack problems. With this, India's national capital becomes the ninth city in the world and the first in Asia, to get the feature. Uber's CEO Dara Khosrowshahi launched the feature in partnership with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. The feature allows one to check schedules for the Delhi Metro, based on pricing as well as timing. "In our first five cities in the world, half a million users have been using the public transport system in Uber app," said Khosrowshahi at a press conference in Delhi. "DMRC is embracing technology and we want to commend them for that. India is a huge opportunity to make sure its cities are built for people and not for cars," he said. In the near future, Uber also aims to have dedicated pick up spots at metro stations, charging stations for Electric Vehicles, vehicles for physically disabled, self driving cars and bikes and more. India is a fundamental part of Uber's growth story. Profitability characteristics and business in India are improving. India's market is a gateway for the rest of the developing world, said the Uber CEO. There were also mentions of its latest product--Uber bus. "Uber bus service is a new product that we have launched <keyword id="6526136" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="18-months">18 months</keyword> ago. We are testing and learning to understand how the service works. As the product matures, it will be specifically marketed for cities like Delhi," said Khosrowshahi. Partnering with Delhi Metro, Uber hopes to offer seamless travel to users. In <keyword id="6361586" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Gurgaon">Gurgaon</keyword>, Uber Moto sees 25% of its trips starting from metro stations. "We have discussed that 210 metro stations in Delhi, where Uber will have a designated pick up spots. Inside the stations too, Uber will place information desks and booking facilities," said Dr Mangu Singh, Managing Director of DMRC. We are moving from a world of ownership to a world of services. The dream is now to have freedom. Sometimes car ownership is a trap that prevents innovation. India doesn't need to be trapped by these established models, India can be a trailblazer for other established countries,” he said. The Uber CEO also has big expectations from India. He said, “India is going to be a big source of innovation. One example is the Uber Lite app, was designed and built in India and moved to over 30 countries around the world.” Uber is also set to hire more in India. “We are very proud of the engineering and product talent based out of Bengaluru and <keyword id="6354552" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="hyderabad">Hyderabad</keyword>. We have a goal to double the headcount in these offices and have 1,000 people to build innovative products out of India,” said Manik Gupta, Uber's chief product officer.

A full 26% of the class was women, or 30 executives, the person said. Interestingly, that's the <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/goldman-sachs-new-partner-class-list-2018-2018-11">same percentage</a> as the latest partner class at Goldman Sachs, one of JPMorgan's closest competitors. JPMorgan announced the promotions this morning on an internal web page. For JPMorgan, North America accounts for the largest share of the promotions, with 46% of the class based there, the person said. Another 31% is based in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, with 18% in Asia Pacific and 5% in Latin America. By business line, investment and corporate banking made up a plurality, with 36%. Another 20% work in trading, with 17% coming from sales and 13% from digital and platform services, the person said. Treasury and security services accounted for 8%, with 5% from research. "Achieving the MD distinction does not come easily, but is earned through dedication to clients and colleagues, hard work and a commitment to our shared culture," Daniel Pinto and the corporate and investment bank management team said in the message.
