We all know what a brilliant director and writer R. Balki is, and he has proven it time and again, with his ventures Cheeni Kum, Paa, English Vinglish, and lately, Shamitabh. 
 His next venture comes in the form of <keyword id="3018653" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ki-Ka">Ki &amp; Ka</keyword>, a romantic comedy starring <keyword id="2165" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kareena-Kapoor">Kareena Kapoor</keyword> as Kia and <keyword id="114453" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Arjun-Kapoor">Arjun Kapoor</keyword> as Kabir, a modern couple with a twist. 
 
This was the only brief that we had about the movie until now, however, with the motion poster of the movie being released today, we have a slightly better idea about the whole ‘twist’ in question. 
Amitabh Bachchan, who has acted in all of Balki’s ventures until now and is playing a guest role in Ki &amp; Ka along with wife Jaya Bachchan took to his social media accounts to share the motion poster.

That’s right, it’s Kareena Kapoor putting a mangalsutra around Arjun Kapoor’s neck, with the motion poster announcing that streeling (female) and pulling (male), is the same thing. What we can make out from this poster is that Kia would be a working woman and Kabir would be a stay at home husband, dealing with the lemons that life throws at them. 
 
Interesting enough? But beware, the movie releases on April Fool’s day, so you might as well be ready to be fooled by the creative genius.

If you love <keyword id="106133" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ranveer-Singh">Ranveer Singh</keyword>, <keyword id="114453" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Arjun-Kapoor">Arjun Kapoor</keyword> and <keyword id="1655" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Priyanka-Chopra">Priyanka Chopra</keyword> or even one of them, you would have survived the agony that <keyword id="6427325" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Gunday">Gunday</keyword> was and know that in the end, Priyanka Chopra, fed up of Singh <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Ranveer-misses-Arjun-Baba-so-much-he-Dubsmashed-to-prove-it/articleshow/50027818.cms">and Kapoor’s excessive bromance in the movie</a>, decides to shoot both of them dead! 
 
Okay, not so true if we consider that she was a cop and they played goons, but I have always liked to believe that this was the reason why she decided to take the gun in her own hands, quite literally. 
 
Turns out, Arjun Kapoor thinks the same, at least that’s what his Twitter handle says. 
 
The 2014 dud was brought up again by the star cast after Ranveer Singh attended the screening of his <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Did-Ranveer-Singh-and-Arjun-Kapoor-apologize-for-AIB-Roast-at-IIFA/articleshow/47597999.cms">fellow baba</a> Arjun’s upcoming movie <keyword id="3018653" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ki-Ka">Ki &amp; Ka</keyword>, and almost recreated the poster of the movie in which Arjun passionately kisses actress Kareena Kapoor Khan. 
 
Gauri Shinde, wife of director R. Balki took to Twitter to share the almost recreated poster, which was then retweeted by Ranveer Singh.

However, Arjun couldn’t stop thinking of Gunday, from where the bromance had started, and revealed this to be the reason behind Priyanka’s anguish at the movie’s end.

A few days back, we told you about the release of the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/The-motion-poster-of-Ki-Ka-is-here/articleshow/50534086.cms">motion poster</a> of R. Balki’s upcoming movie <keyword id="3018653" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="100" keywordseo="Ki-Ka">Ki &amp; Ka</keyword>, starring <keyword id="2165" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Kareena-Kapoor">Kareena Kapoor</keyword> Khan and <keyword id="114453" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Arjun-Kapoor">Arjun Kapoor</keyword> in the lead roles. The poster showed Kareena tying a mangalsutra around Arjun Kapoor’s neck, while the tagline said that streeling (female) and pulling (male) is the same thing. 
 
It pretty much gave us the idea that Arjun, who plays Kabir would be a house husband while Kareena, who plays Kia, would be the one minting money in the big bad world out there. Now, the official trailer of the movie is here, and we couldn’t be more correct about the storyline of the movie. 
 
The trailer starts with someone asking Kabir if Kia is the man in their relationship, to which he says that even though in the Indian culture, a man means someone who earns the bread of the family, in their case, it’s just the opposite. 
 
The scene then moves to Kia, who is the marketing manager of a big corporate house, and is expecting quick promotions in the near future. When Ki and Ka talk about their future, Ka, i.e Kabir reveals that he wants to be like his mom, who, to Ki, i.e Kia’s surprise was a housewife. 
Kabir then clarifies that he is a normal man, who just wants to stay away from the rat race in his professional career. 
 
We also meet Swaroop Sampat and Rajit Kapur, who play Kia and Kabir’s family. As the two get married, the famous mangalsutra scene arrives, along with some steamy scenes between the two stars. 
 That Kabir likes to cook is evident from the trailer, as he makes tea, breakfast and dinner for his working wife, while asking money from her to manage the house. However, he can beat some goons in pure macho style too, a stereotypical must for a <keyword id="143" type="CITY" weightage="100" keywordseo="Bollywood">Bollywood</keyword> hero after all, but in the next scene, he wears red sandals as Kareena plays the lead in their couple dance. 
 
Good, different and fun, but even the movie that talks about breaking the stereotypes somehow manages to establish them again, in a role reversal manner though. 
 
Why does Kabir take off his wife’s sandals as she is too tired to take them off herself after a hectic day at work? Why is he the one who makes the breakfast as she sleeps soundly? Why doesn’t she care about his headache when she is in the mood to do it? 
 
These questions make us think if Balki meant to just reverse the roles amongst genders and not show gender equality through this movie, which could have been path breaking, but sadly, isn’t? 
 
Nonetheless, the chemistry between Kareena and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Watch-Varun-Dhawan-and-Arjun-Kapoors-real-introductory-film/articleshow/47526025.cms">Arjun</a> looks sizzling, and it’s after quite some time that Kareena would be seen delivering a performance and not just being in the movie for the sake of glamour. Remember <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Box-Office-Singham-Returns-Manages-A-Smashing-Weekend/articleshow/40367987.cms">Singham Returns</a>, Gabbar Is Back and <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Just-Three-More-Days-For-The-Trailer-Of-Bajrangi-Bhaijaan/articleshow/47676499.cms">Bajrangi Bhaijaan</a>, anyone? Even though the first trailer didn’t give us any glimpse of the role that <a href="http://www.businessinsider.in/Jaya-and-Amitabh-Bachchan-shoot-for-Ki-and-Ka-inside-Jalsa/articleshow/48512138.cms">Jaya and Amitabh Bachchan</a> would be playing in the movie, it does manage to raise the curiosity levels to some extent.

The teaser shows heart-stopping action with breathtaking visuals and adrenaline-pumping sequences. As soon as the teaser was released, fans flooded the comment section. This means that anti-China sentiment — be it waving banners, attending protests, posting on social media, or calling for foreign intervention — is no longer tolerated.The law effectively marks the end of Hong Kong's political autonomy from the mainland. The crackdown has been swift and often violent, but pro-democracy activists haven't lost all hope.Here's what's happened in the month since.<h2>Political groups disbanded as activists fled to safety</h2>Shortly after the law came into force, four major pro-democracy figures — Joshua Wong, Agnes Chow, Nathan Law, and Jeffrey Ngo — resigned as leaders of the Demosistō organization, fearing that their titles would see them imprisoned.Hours later, Demosistō said the entire organization was disbanding. The Hong Kong National Front, another significant pro-independence group, <a href="https://twitter.com/HKNF_02/status/1277809021211140097">disbanded</a> soon after.<div type="image" title="Hong Kong protest arrest .JPG" height="1000" width="2000" msid="77312831" hostid="261"></div>Nathan Law, a local politician and co-founder of Demosistō, announced on July 3 that he had fled Hong Kong. He <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-53393030">revealed</a> on July 13 that he was living in London.Also in London is Simon Cheng, a campaigner and former British consulate employee in Hong Kong, who was <a href="https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-china-50457262">detained for 15 days</a> during a trip to mainland China last year. Cheng said he was tortured by Chinese agents.Cheng has since announced intentions to set up a parliament-in-exile with other activists who have fled."A shadow parliament can send a very clear signal to Beijing," he <a href="https://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-hongkong-protests-britain-cheng-exclu/exclusive-hong-kong-activists-discuss-parliament-in-exile-after-china-crackdown-idUKKBN2431YR">told Reuters</a> in early July.Public libraries in Hong Kong have also <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-53296810">removed books</a> written by pro-democracy activists from their shelves and catalogues.<h2>Police used the law to justify arrests right away</h2>On the first day of the national-security law's existence, <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hong-kong-china-national-security-law-police-arrest-protests-2020-7">300 protesters were arrested</a> by the Hong Kong police. Nine of the arrests were on suspicion of violating the national security, which forbids secession, the police said. The vague wording of the law gives police vast discretion to arrest people. Carrying a banner reading "Free Hong Kong," for example, could get you imprisoned now.However, protesters were quick to adopt a new banner of independence: Sheets of <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hong-kong-activists-blank-signs-avoid-china-national-security-law-2020-7">white posters with no slogans of symbols</a> that could see them breach the law.Activists have also changed the words to popular independence chants to avoid falling afoul of the security law. Taiwan has in recent years become more vocal in its anti-China stance — the island has been self-ruling for decades but Beijing has always considered it a Chinese territory.Around 200 Hong Kong protesters are in Taiwan right now, <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jun/25/hong-kong-protesters-flee-to-taiwan-to-continue-china-resistance">according to The Guardian. </a>Authorities there have encouraged Hong Kongers to extend their tourist visas and also enroll in colleges to get longer-term visas, which will keep them out of harm's way.<div type="image" title="Hong Kong" height="900" width="1800" msid="77312842" hostid="261"></div>The UK, which ruled over Hong Kong for 150 years until 1997, has also <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/boris-johnson-offers-hong-kong-citizens-refuge-in-uk-in-response-to-china-2020-7">offered three million Hong Kongers</a> and their families a path to British citizenship.Since Prime Minister Boris Johnson made that pledge, estate agents in London have <a href="https://www.businessinsider.com/hong-kong-rich-enquire-london-property-china-national-security-law-2020-7">observed a marked increase in requests for houses</a> from Hong Kongers. The film industry has been entertaining us for decades with heart-warming stories, but what really doesn’t work well with the Indian audience are the movies with religion-based scripts. They rub the Indian audience in a wrong way. Take for instance the recent case of ‘Mohalla Assi’, a film based on religious issues that hasn’t been released but is already facing the ire. And this is not happening for the first time when religious overtones of a film have created celluloid controversy. Here are five such flicks, which made headlines due to their sensitive contents and were tagged ‘outrageous’. 
		 

Mohalla Assi 
 
 
 Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, this Sunny Deol-starrer movie is in news due to its abusive language and portrayal of Lord <keyword id="33379" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shiva">Shiva</keyword> in poor light. Following a petition, a court has recently restrained the makers of the film from releasing on July 3 till further orders. The court has observed that it might “hurt religious sentiments of the people” and said it should not hit theatres till the alleged offensive scenes and dialogues are edited. The film is based in the locality of Assi Ghat in the holy city of Varanasi. It is, reportedly, based on 2004 Hindi novel 'Kashi Ka Assi' written by Kashinath Singh. The movie also stars Ravi Kishan, Sakshi Tanwar in lead roles.

 Many cases were registered against this <keyword id="6354633" type="PERSON" weightage="60" keywordseo="Rajkumar-Hirani">Rajkumar Hirani</keyword> film ever since its first poster was unveiled that had a nude <keyword id="6355923" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Aamir-Khan">Aamir Khan</keyword>, posing with a transistor. The movie, a satire on religious beliefs and superstitions, was released across India on December 19, 2014. Aamir Khan played an alien and unravels the ugly face of human greed. Hindutva groups took offence to certain scenes and dialogues while others criticized ‘PK’ that it “unnecessarily” mocked Hindu beliefs and rituals. Police lodged complaints against the film under Sections 153-A, 295-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). However, it did not affect the box office collection of ‘PK’, which has crossed Rs 650 crore mark. The film also stars <keyword id="6357860" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Anushka-Sharma">Anushka Sharma</keyword>, <keyword id="21678" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="sushant-singh">Sushant Singh</keyword> Rajput, Boman Irani, and <keyword id="7645" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Sanjay-Dutt">Sanjay Dutt</keyword>. 
 
Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela 
 
 
 This <keyword id="6358308" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="sanjay-leela-bhansali">Sanjay Leela Bhansali</keyword> film was mired in controversy from the time its title was announced. The original name of the movie was ‘Ram-Leela’, but was changed to ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, following a petition. According to the petitioner, actor <keyword id="106133" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ranveer-Singh">Ranveer Singh</keyword>, who played the role of Ram in the film, was a womanizer and his role was a character assassination of Lord <keyword id="52950" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Rama">Rama</keyword>. A case was later filed against Bhansali, Ranveer Singh and <keyword id="598" type="PERSON" weightage="100" keywordseo="Deepika-Padukone">Deepika Padukone</keyword> for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of the people and promoting communal disharmony. However, the film was released on November 15, 2013 and collected over Rs 200 crore on the box office. 
 
Son of Sardaar 
 
 
 Directed by Ashwni Dhir, the film was tagged as objectionable by the Sikh community due to a Lord Shiva tattoo on actor <keyword id="4230" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Ajay-Devgan">Ajay Devgan</keyword>’s chest and a couple of allegedly outrageous dialogues. He played the role of a Sikh protagonist in the movie. Being a producer, he assured the <keyword id="54270" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="80" keywordseo="Shiromani-Gurdwara-Parbandhak-Committee">Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee</keyword> (SGPC) that the objectionable elements would be removed before its release. The actor also promised that a print of the film would be sent to the SGPC before the release. The movie was released on November 13, 2012 and also stars <keyword id="62210" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Sonakshi-Sinha">Sonakshi Sinha</keyword>, <keyword id="6371319" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Juhi-Chawla">Juhi Chawla</keyword> and Sanjay Dutt. 
 
OMG-Oh My God 
 
 This Akshay Kumar-starrer was a mix of satire, fable and fantasy that brings audience’s attention towards the commercialisation of religion. Although the movie insists on the existence of God, it was not like by Hindutva groups. The story was an adaptation of a successful Gujarati play, which also became a hit in Hindi and Marathi languages. Directed by Umesh Shukla, the movie was released on September 28, 2012. An FIR was later lodged against the director, producers and actors of the film for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of the people. The movie also stars actors <keyword id="6357914" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Paresh-Rawal">Paresh Rawal</keyword> and <keyword id="14672" type="PERSON" weightage="80" keywordseo="Mithun-Chakraborty">Mithun Chakraborty</keyword>.
