The Baby Doll singer was admitted to the hospital on March 20 when her tests revealed that she was Coronavirus positive. Her five consecutive reports showed her as Coronavirus positive. The reports on Saturday and Sunday, however, were Corona negative. Kanika is the first Bollywood celebrity to test positive for the deadly virus in the country. In a statement on Instagram, which she later deleted, Kanika narrated how she developed signs of flu on her return from London. She claimed that she was unaware of the Coronavirus infection until she tested positive. Real trouble starts now for Kapoor Kanika's troubles, however, are likely to increase now after she is discharged from hospital. Three FIRs have been filed against Kanika on charges of negligence, hiding travel history and attending various social events in the city despite being infected with Coronavirus. This was in spite of being given instructions by authorities to isolate herself at home. She has been booked under Sections 188, 269, and 270 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at <keyword id="99794" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Sarojini-Nagar">Sarojini Nagar</keyword> police station in the city. The FIR was lodged based on a complaint filed by the chief medical officer (CMO) of Lucknow. Why Kanika Kapoor gained limelight? Users on social media called her "irresponsible" and "uneducated" when they got to know that she has reportedly attended several high-profile parties and events after arriving in the country. "Hello everyone, For the past four days, I have had signs of the flu, I got myself tested, and it came positive for COVID-19. My family and I are in complete quarantine now and following medical advice on how to move forward. Contact mapping of people I have been in touch with is underway as well. "I was scanned at the airport as per normal procedure ten days ago when I came back home; the symptoms developed only four days ago. At this stage, I would like to urge you all to practice self-isolation and get tested if you have the signs. I am feeling ok, like normal flu and a mild fever. However, we need to be sensible citizens at this time and think of all around us. We can get through this without panic only if we listen to the experts and our local, state and central government directives," Kanika wrote then. Kanika Kapoor tests negative for Coronavirus — but she’ll have to clear it one more time just to be sure

More than a month after testing positive for the coronavirus, singer <keyword id="1758842" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Kanika-Kapoor">Kanika Kapoor</keyword> on Sunday said there have been several "wrong exchanges of information" regarding her travel timeline and battle with the disease. Kanika, who was the first Bollywood personality to test positive for the novel virus on March 20, came under attack for <keyword id="6357355" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="20" keywordseo="Negligence">negligence</keyword> and not practising self-quarantine despite returning to the country from the UK amid the coronavirus pandemic. She was also booked by the <keyword id="6366241" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="uttar-pradesh-police">Uttar Pradesh Police</keyword> for negligence and committing acts that were likely to spread the infection after she attended at least three gatherings in Lucknow, including a party where political personalities, including senior BJP leader and former Rajasthan Chief Minister <keyword id="6361795" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vasundhara-Raje">Vasundhara Raje</keyword> and her son, Dushyant Singh, were present. "I travelled from the UK to Mumbai on March 10 and was duly screened at the international airport. There was no advisory on that day (UK travel advisory was released on 18 March) that stated that I needed to quarantine myself. I showed no ill health so did not quarantine myself." The singer said she travelled to Lucknow to meet her family on March 11 and claimed there was "no screening setup for domestic flights". On March 14 and 15, Kanika said she attended a friend's lunch and dinner and clarified "there was no party hosted by me and I was in absolute normal health." However, on March 17 and 18, she developed symptoms and said she got herself tested on March 19. "On March 20 when informed that my test was positive, I chose to go to the hospital. I was discharged after there negative tests and have since been at home for 21 days. "I want to especially thank the doctors and nurses who have so graciously taken care of me during a very emotionally testing time. I hope that all can deal with this matter with honesty and sensitivity," she added. She has given her blood sample for testing at the King George's Medical University (KGMU) here, they said. "Singer Kanika Kapoor on Monday expressed her desire to KGMU doctors to donate plasma. After this, she was called and her blood sample was taken for testing. If everything is found appropriate in the report (of the blood test), she will be called on Monday evening or Tuesday to donate her plasma," Tulika Chandra, Head of Department of Transfusion Medicine, KGMU told . "So far, three COVID-19 patients, who have recovered from the infection at the KGMU, have donated their plasma. I was discharged after three negative tests and have since been at home for 21 days," she added.Meanwhile, a 58-year-old doctor became the first coronavirus patient at the KGMU here to receive plasma therapy as an experimental treatment for the disease on Monday, a hospital official said.The doctor from Orai in Uttar Pradesh was administered the plasma donated by the woman doctor from Canada who was the first COVID-19 patient admitted to the KGMU and later recovered, Chandra said. Convalescent Plasma Therapy is an experimental procedure for COVID-19 patients. In this treatment, plasma (a blood component) from a cured COVID-19 patient is transfused to a critically ill coronavirus patient.The blood of a person who has recovered from COVID-19 develops antibodies to battle against the virus.The idea behind the therapy is that immunity can be transferred from a healthy person to a sick patient using convalescent plasma. Once the blood plasma of the recovered patient is infused with that of the second patient, the antibodies start fighting against coronavirus in the second person's body.The process of donating plasma is similar to that of donating blood and takes about an hour. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had recently asked the state's medical authorities to promote plasma therapy for the treatment of COVID-19 patients after examining its efficacy. The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has recently allowed states to start clinical trials of plasma therapy. Many states like Kerala, Gujarat and Punjab have already started using it for treatment of coronavirus patients. The actor currently features in buddy comedy "Thank You For Coming", which has a predominantly female cast. Citing the example of her 2019 film "Saand Ki Aankh", Pednekar said the box office collections are not in anyone's control. "It is all about whether the film is good or bad. I remember when I had done 'Saand Ki Aankh', which is a female-led film, compared to another film, which released on the same day, and it did overall business of Rs 350 crore. While my film did Rs 45 crore but our film was running in theatres for 100 days," she added. The beauty of cinema is that good work will always "be remembered and watched for generations", the actor said. "Films earn money but we hope people will come and watch our films. We don't take the pressure because certain things are not in our hands." "Thank You For Coming" is a coming-of-age comedy which follows the story of Kanika Kapoor (Pednekar), a single woman in her 30s, and her quest for true love and pleasure. It is written by Radhika Anand and Prashasti Singh and directed by Karan Boolani. The 34-year-old actor said the film's story uses female desire to explore the theme of patriarchy in society. "Orgasm is a metaphor for a larger scheme of things that the film talks about. The film is against patriarchy, it is not about man versus woman, because patriarchy is not gender specific. "Women and men both are patriarchal. That's the thought of the film. The film is about sisterhood, womanhood... Every film has a thought or a premise, so this is the premise of the film," she said. Pednekar, known for films such as "Dum Laga Ke Haisha", "Toilet: Ek Prem Katha", and "Shubh Mangal Saavdhan", said the cast stuck to the light-hearted tone of the story of "Thank You For Coming". "If we had not kept this tone of the film... We would not have been honest to what we have made. If we are making a film about female pleasure and if we are only shying to talk about it, then what's the point?" She hopes "Thank You For Coming" helps diminish the stigma around sexual liberation of women. "Till the time, 'Shubh Mangal Saavdhan' had not been released people would shy to talk about the topic of erectile dysfunction. It was an issue in families but one would not be able to talk about it, I believe that film eased the conservation. "I feel with this film ('Thank You For Coming'), female orgasm, female desire, and all this is one part of the film, these are small themes in the film, but there are more important things that the film comments about. It is a normal thing," she added.
