If you’re an Idea Cellular subscriber in NCR, you’ll pay. The company has raised mobile data rates by up to 100 per cent for its pre-paid customers. It’s the first telecom to raise its tariff after recent spectrum auction in March. 
 
The company has doubled the tariff for some 2G plans, and tripled 3G rates. 
 
According to media reports Idea MD and CEO Himanshu Kapania had said hinted post spectrum action that a data tariff price hike could occur. 
 
The company has changed most of the 2G and 3G recharge vouchers. As per the new rates subscribers would get 1.5 GB of 2G as against 3 GB for Rs. 255 earlier and 3 GB as against 4 GB for Rs. 755. 
 
The 1 GB 3G pack will now come with a 28 days validity of 28 days, but will cost Rs. 295 as against Rs 249. 1 GB of 2G would now set you back for Rs. 195 as against Rs 175 earlier, but will come with 28 days validity. 
 
The company has also reduced validity of some other packs. 
 
Experts predict an overall increase in the Idea’s data tariffs in other circles too. 
 
The new rates came into effect from June 3.

 It further propagated the idea of internet as a powerful tool for education with the ‘Idea Internet Network’ (IIN) campaign. More recently, with the proliferation of 4G and high usage of social media, the brand also addressed psychological and social problems of the society through its ‘Meri Real Life’ and ‘India Ka Live’ network campaigns. The latest NETworking series of three TVCs carry the brand’s signature tune and creative treatment and went live today, 11th February, 2020. The TVCs have been conceptualised keeping in mind the perspectives of different target audiences – a youngster struggling for employment, a small-town businessman facing lean business time thanks to the growing trend of online shopping, and a middle-aged woman trying to supplement her income by selling homemade papads and pickles. It means that as much as ₹1,400 crore, about $200 million, was lost in a single day’s trade. On Friday (July 26), Vodafone Idea posted a net loss of ₹4,874 crore, or over $700 million, in the first quarter of the current financial year. “Vodafone Idea’s results disappointed with revenues, EBIDTA (pre-tax profits), and a loss ---all missed estimates,” said a report by CLSA, which retained its ‘Sell’ recommendation. In the long-run Top telecom operators Vodafone and Idea Cellular had merged last year, and these synergies will start paying off in a year. “We are delivering on our stated strategy, although the benefits are not yet visible in our top line. We are well on track to deliver our synergy targets by Q1 of 2020-21. We expect these factors to increasingly contribute to our financial performance going forward,” said Balesh Sharma, CEO Vodafone Idea. But the shareholders were clearly not in the mood to wait so long. The company, in spite of its size, is unable to keep up with competition from Reliance Jio, which has been gaining subscribers at <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/mukesh-ambani-owned-reliance-vs-vodafone-idea-vs-airtel-vs-bsnl-january-to-april-2019-subscriber-data/articleshow/69928185.cms">Vodafone Idea’s cost</a>. Vodafone Idea has been losing in terms of quantity and quality of subscribers as well. Its average revenue per user rose by a mere 4% to ₹108. Added to that, some of its best paying customers also downtraded which means went in for cheaper plans, leaving it with fewer profits.
