"You're going to get a lot of me in the coming days."</p><p>Armstong's comments came while Green Day was performing in London alongside Fall Out Boy and Weezer as part of the "Hella Mega" concert tour.</p><p>Armstrong joins a <a href="https://www.insider.com/celebrities-react-supreme-court-overturns-roe-v-wade-2022-6">chorus of celebrities</a> who have spoken out about the controversial decision by the Supreme Court to overturn the landmark case which recognized a pregnant person's <a href="https://supreme.justia.com/cases/federal/us/410/113/#:~:text=violative%20of%20the%20Due%20Process%20Clause%20of%20the%20Fourteenth%20Amendment">14th Amendment right</a> to an abortion.</p><p>The band's press team did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.</p>

Although we are ready to shell out big money on chocolate gifts, are we ready to pay a little extra for organic and fair-trade chocolate brands?<br />

But as they mostly flourish in specific conditions (sunshine but not too much of heat and plenty of water), not all countries can grow these in natural environment. Most flowers grown commercially come from climate-controlled greenhouses and delivery of the same requires temperature-controlled trucks and cold boxes – thus enhancing the carbon footprint. That’s why environmentalists suggest buying local and seasonal flowers that not only cost less but keep the Earth pollution free. Try out the field flowers for a change or buy your sweetheart an offbeat decoration of leaves. As for wrapping paper, the green alternative has already come up in the form of seed paper. It’s a kind of handmade paper embedded with wildflower, herb or vegetable seeds – so that when you plant the paper, the seeds will germinate and grow into plants. Just buy some seed paper as gift wrap and ask the recipient to plant it in a pot or in his/her garden when the gifts have been unwrapped. It is approved for planting in the US, Canada, Europe and many other countries across the world. These are also available in India and you can easily buy them online.<br />

Several other conservative pundits also <a target="_blank" rel=" nofollow" href="https://twitter.com/alx/status/1741868701450698850"><u>blasted the band </u></a>for the lyric swap, with some mocking the ages of its members.</p><p>"I think the best part about it is that it provoked conversation," Dirnt said. "First it was rhetorical, and then it got into conversation."</p><p>Green Day has a history of making political statements. "American Idiot" was originally written as a protest song during the George Bush administration and includes direct criticisms of the former president as well as the media.</p>

<p>The band paired up with Japanese PR company Absolute Territory to <a href="http://www.buzzfeed.com/copyranter/next-ad-medium-thighs-of-japanese-girls">promote the Japanese release of its new CD “!Uno!”</a> The promotion process is simple, the firm has girls above 18 years of age temporarily <keyword id="1123" type="UNKNOWN" weightage="60" keywordseo="Tattoo">tattoo</keyword> certain brand messages on the "absolute territory" between their high knee socks and the hem of their mini skirts. Because what else would they be wearing?</p>
<p>As long as the women wear the tattoos for at least eight hours a day and post pictures to their Facebook pages — they must have at least 20 friends on their social media accounts — they'll get paid. According to Oddity Central, more than 1,300 applied to work with the agency in November, and the number's growing.</p>
<p>Bizarre as this sounds, this marketing tactic actually makes some sense. Green Day is trying to recreate its 1990s and early 2000s hey dey, so it embraced another trend of the early-millennium: human billboards.</p>

The Nevada State Athletic Commission stopped the practice since it wasn't getting a cut and the tattooed ads had the potential to conflict with pre-existing sponsorships.</p>
<p>But it looks like both permanent and temporary tattoo ads are making a comeback.</p>
<p>Times Square celebrity the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/naked-cowboy-to-become-human-billboard-body-tattoos-2012-12">Naked Cowboy agreed to become Wow Body Ads' first human billboard</a> by temporarily tattooing the company's logo onto his chest and back in December. This will subsidize his current income of <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/naked-cowboy-to-become-human-billboard-body-tattoos-2012-12">marrying couples off in his underwear for $499 a pop.</a></p>
<p>Billy "the human billboard" Gibbon currently has <a href="http://billythehumanbillboard.blogspot.com/">39 brand-related tattoos, and he's still selling off more space on his website.</a> A 6" by 1" tattoo ad on his forehead costs $20,000.</p>
<p>Granted, some people don't need a company to pay them to get a tattoo of its logo. <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/diddy-tattooed-new-york-magazines-logo-2013-2">Sean "Diddy" Combs got a tattoo of New York magazine's logo</a> on his own, and there's a slew of techies who <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/tech-tattoos-2013-1">love tech brands so much, they got tattoos of them.</a></p>

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Green Day changed the words to one of their best-known songs to slam Donald Trump during a show.</li><li>The band tweaked the lyrics to "American Idiot" on "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" on ABC.</li></ul><p>Green Day changed the lyrics in one of their best-known songs to slam Donald Trump during a televised New Year's Eve <a target="_blank" href="https://twitter.com/consequence/status/1741659479874146612">performance</a> on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest.</p><p>Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong swapped the line "I'm not a part of a redneck agenda" for "I'm not a part of the <a target="_blank" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-maga-allies-strongly-urge-not-mull-nikki-haley-vp-2023-12?r=US&amp;IR=T">MAGA</a> agenda" in the hit song "American Idiot," which was released in 2004 and was designed to be a statement against former President George W Bush and the Iraq war.</p><p>Videos of their performance have circulated on social media.</p><p>It is not the first time the band has taken a swipe at the former president.</p><p>At the American Music Awards in Los Angeles in 2016, the band yelled "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA" during a performance of the song "Bang Bang."</p><p>"I f—ing hate Donald Trump so much," Armstrong has also previously said, according to <a target="_blank" href="https://variety.com/2018/music/news/billie-joe-armstrong-donald-trump-green-day-1202852632/">Variety</a>.</p><p>In August, the band was also quick to <a target="_blank" href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CwYPScDpZGR/?utm_source=ig_embed&amp;ig_rid=0a060dec-7263-432c-8441-7fd79aa992d4">respond</a> to news of Trump's indictment and mugshot, with the group selling new merchandise that incorporated Trump's booking photo and their 1997 "Nimrod" album cover.</p><p>"Good Riddance," Green Day said in an Instagram post announcing the merch, adding: "The ultimate Nimrod shirt is available for 72 hours only. Limited edition shirt proceeds will be donated to T̶h̶e̶ ̶G̶i̶u̶l̶i̶a̶n̶i̶ ̶L̶e̶g̶a̶l̶ ̶D̶e̶f̶e̶n̶s̶e̶ ̶F̶u̶n̶d̶ @greatergoodmusiccharity."</p><p>The group is due to release a new album later this month, which it described on <a target="_blank" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1TDvy7djJg">YouTube</a> as "an invitation into Green Day's brain" and "their collective spirit."</p>

<ul class="summary-list"><li>Green Day is on tour celebrating the 30th anniversary of "Dookie" and 20th of "American Idiot."</li><li>I saw them for the first time in 1998 in Brazil when I was a teenager.</li></ul><p>When Green Day announced they were going on tour again to celebrate the anniversaries of two of their (arguably) <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/trumps-uk-visit-american-idiot-social-media-campaign-2018-7">most iconic albums</a>, I knew I had to go.</p><p>I grew up listening to the punk bad from California while living in South America. When they made it to Brazil in 1998 I went to see them with my <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/took-woman-26-years-to-see-blink-182-play-live-2023-5">high school boyfriend</a> and friends, and while my memory is fuzzy now, I remember what a blast we had in the mosh pit.</p><p>Last night, 27 years after that first concert, I got to <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/taylor-swift-beyonce-gen-z-millennials-live-events-status-symbol-2023-12">see them live</a> again, and they put on an epic show for all ages.</p><h2 id="9e480784-9f06-4859-a3a9-a9677d09b9af">The venue was filled with families</h2><p>I had to drive two hours <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/amtrak-downeaster-train-boston-to-maine-worth-price-great-value-2023-10">from Maine to Boston</a> to catch my favorite band live. I debated on whether I should bring my 6-year-old son since he is into punk, but figured the timing of the show and then the subsequent drive was going to be too much.</p><p>I regretted it the second I walked in because the stadium was full of families. When I arrived at my seat, I saw that I had a mom with her late teens daughter on my left, and to my right I had a dad with his pre-teen son. There were also plenty of <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/american-mom-seeing-taylor-swift-in-europe-with-kids-2023-7">little kids running around</a> rocking, including one with an epic mohawk.</p><div type="image" title="Family at Fenway concert" height="878" width="1170" msid="112383058" hostid="261" sizebytes="94034"></div><p>My parents didn't understand my musical taste growing up, and would've rather taking me to the opera than to a <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ridiculous-tour-riders-2016-9">punk show</a>. It was refreshing to see parents bob their heads around even when they didn't know a single lyric.</p><h2 id="38112464-5323-4925-adb1-dad2b97e2d38">It was a party</h2><p>Before <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/roe-v-wade-green-day-billie-joe-armstrong-renounce-citizenship-2022-6">Green Day took the stage</a>, the Linda Lindas, Rancid, and Smashing Pumpkins warmed up the old millennial audience for what was to come. There was a lot of air drumming and belching out lyrics that mended our broken hearts once upon a time.</p><p>When Billie Joe Armstrong took the stage, it was officially a party that lasted over two hours. They played "Dookie" and "American Idiot" in their entirety, while also sprinkling songs from their new album and old time favorites.</p><div type="image" title="Woman at Green Day tour" height="2268" width="3024" msid="112383057" hostid="261" sizebytes="434564"></div><p>Armstrong changed once again the lyrics to "American Idiot" to say "<a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/green-day-changed-song-slam-trump-during-new-year-eve-2024-1">I'm not part of your MAGA agenda</a>," and the crowd erupted in cheers, a reminder that punk will always be political.</p><p>I cried when songs that got me through hard times came on, jumped when Armstrong instructed the whole crowed to "go absolutely insane," and smiled in awe at what the 50-plus year olds can still do on stage.</p><p>I hope it doesn't take me almost three decades to see them again, and next time I'm bringing my kids so we can bop our heads together and introduce them to the band who got me through all the lows in my life.</p>

The winning tickets - which will number in the thousands - will grant the holders one dozen free doughnuts per month until St. Patrick's Day 2020.&#xa0;</p><p>"What could be better than a green O'riginal Glazed doughnut? Not much. But free Original Glazed doughnuts for a year might do the trick. In 2016, online sales on Green Monday were <a href="https://www.statista.com/statistics/248334/us-online-retail-spending-on-green-monday/">their highest ever at $1.6 billion</a>. That number now pales in comparison to the <a href="http://www.businessinsider.com/smartphones-are-killing-black-friday-2017-11">staggering $2.9 billion in online sales</a> that were produced on Thanksgiving this year, but it's significant nonetheless.</p><p>Since it is a lesser-known shopping holiday, there are not as many advertised deals on Green Monday. <a href="https://www.target.com/c/green-monday/-/N-4xwck">Target</a> and <a href="https://www.walmart.com/cp/green-monday/1100786">Walmart</a> both have landing pages dedicated to it, but the deals themselves are not likely to have an individual Green Monday tag or emblem on them. Ebay still has a page for its Green Monday deals, however.</p><p>Shoppers can expect some deals to peek through, but those looking for discounts as vast and deep as Black Friday may be disappointed.</p><p>And, Green Monday's importance may be fading as more retailers embrace fast, free shipping. With the two-day shipping guarantee that comes with an <a href="http://markets.businessinsider.com/stock/AMZN-Quote">Amazon</a> Prime membership, and <a href="http://markets.businessinsider.com/stock/WMT-Quote">Walmart's</a> two-day shipping offering with any $35 purchase, there may not be a compelling reason for last-minute shoppers to click check-out on Monday.
