With the vaccination drive for adolescents entering its third day, as per the Co-WIN portal 1,06,27,277 children in the 15 to 18 years' age group have been vaccinated with the first Covid-19 vaccine dose so far. According to the government's Co-WIN portal, 1,33,64,030 children have registered so far for the first dose of vaccine. Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya has lauded the spirit of the youngsters for receiving the vaccine and said "superb enthusiasm among 'Young India' for vaccination". "More than 1 crore youngsters between 15-18 years' age group have received first dose of Covid-19 vaccines that, too, on their third day of vaccination drive. I appeal to all eligible young friends to get vaccinated at the earliest," Mandaviya added in a tweet. As of now, only Bharat Biotech's indigenously-made Covaxin is available for vaccinating the 15-18 years' age group. According to the Health Ministry, additional doses of Covaxin will be sent to the states and UTs for administering the vaccine to this population category. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced on December 25 that vaccination for the 15-18 years' age group will begin from January 3. The vaccination process for a third precautionary dose of vaccine for health workers, frontline workers and vulnerable senior citizens will begin from January 10. One crore teens between 15-18 years have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

<keyword id="3179546" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="adani-green-energy" source="Orion">Adani Green Energy</keyword> Ltd (AGEL), the worlds largest solar power developer and the renewable energy arm of the diversified <keyword id="76451" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="adani" source="Orion">Adani</keyword> Group, has signed an agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) to supply 4,667 MW of green power. This is the worlds largest ever <keyword id="12733047" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="green-power-purchase-agreement-" source="Orion">green power purchase agreement.</keyword> "We are pleased to have signed the world's largest PPA with SECI," said Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group. "This is yet another step in our journey to enable India's dual objective to accelerate India's renewable energy footprint as well as promote domestic manufacturing under the Atmanirbhar Bharat programme. Following the proceedings at COP26, it is increasingly evident that the world has to equitably transition to a low carbon economy faster than previously anticipated. This is why the Adani Group has committed $50-$70 billion of investment in the renewables space. This agreement keeps us well on track to our commitment to become the world's largest renewables player by 2030," he added. The AGEL-SECI agreement to supply 4,667 MW is part of a manufacturing-linked solar tender of 8,000 MW awarded to AGEL by SECI in June 2020, which set a record for being the world's largest solar development tender ever awarded. So far, AGEL has signed PPAs with SECI for a total generation capacity of close to 6000 MW of the 8,000 MW awarded in 2020. AGEL expects to close the balance 2000 MW PPA in the next two to three months. Adani signs world's largest green power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India

<keyword id="195740" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="hero-electric" source="Orion">Hero Electric</keyword> on Tuesday announced a partnership with Bengaluru-based battery technology startup Log 9 Materials, to offer its battery packs for the entire range of EVs. The integration of Log 9's 'RapidX' batteries can fully charge Hero Electric 2W within 15 minutes. Log 9 has tested its RapidX batteries through a series of pilots across multiple B2B fleet operators such as Amazon, Shadowfax, Delhivery, Flipkart and BykeMania, etc. "Our InstaCharge batteries on Hero vehicle platform will provide the 'power, performance and peace of mind' for the B2B last-mile delivery sector and will benefit the cause of reducing operational costs as well as lowering emissions," said Dr Akshay Singhal, Founder and CEO, Log 9 Materials. Log9 has leveraged its cell-to-pack competency to develop batteries that provide 9x faster charging, 9x better performance, 9x lower battery degradation, and 9x battery life. Hero Electric and Log 9 will deploy these batteries in the market via outright sales and Battery-as-a-Service (BASS) business models. "Some of the B2B businesses wanted to run the bikes continuously for long hours with a minimal interruption in their delivery operations. It is for such customers that we now offer bikes with the Log9 batteries that can be fast charged while the driver is having his cup of tea," said Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric. Log9's 'RapidX' batteries are built to operate across -30 to 60 degree celsius and comes with an operational life of more than 10 years.
