The startup was cofounded as a nonprofit research lab by a group of 11 people in 2015.Since then, it has grown rapidly and amassed a wealth of users since it launched ChatGPT in 2022. In September, the <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/openai-investors-latest-funding-round-2024-10">$157 billion company</a> said it has more than 1 million paying business users globally, a sharp increase from 600,000 in April.Alongside its rapid growth, the company has been hit by a series of controversies over the years, like the brief ousting of its CEO, Sam Altman, in November 2023. More recently, a wave of high-profile exits has put it in the spotlight, with executives like former CTO <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/mira-murati-openai-cto-leaving-executive-memo-staff-2024-9">Mira Murati leaving last month</a>. Barret Zoph, the vice president of research, and Bob McGrew, chief research officer, left on the same day as Murati. OpenAI has also lost two cofounders this year: Ilya Sutskever, who <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/ilya-sutskever-leaving-openai-6-months-after-failed-altman-ouster-2024-5">announced his departure</a> in May, and John Schulman, who <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/openai-rivals-anthropic-perplexity-on-prowl-after-wave-exec-departures-2024-10">defected to its rival Anthropic</a> in August. However, Musk's lawyers argued in the first lawsuit that he "continued to make contributions to OpenAI" until mid-September 2020. Musk dropped the lawsuit in June and then <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/elon-musk-sues-openai-sam-altman-again-why-2024-8">filed a fresh lawsuit</a> in August, with his lawyers arguing he was "assiduously manipulated" by Altman and Brockman into cofounding OpenAI. <h2 id="031840ed-1fc0-4f6e-9f5c-92fa5e0ca491">Pamela Vagata</h2>Vagata is one of the lesser-known cofounders of OpenAI. Nor does she include the company on her LinkedIn profile. However, she was listed as a founding member on an early version of the company's website. According to her LinkedIn profile, she used to work at Facebook as an AI research engineer before joining Stripe as a software engineer in 2016. She left in 2019 as an AI tech lead. In 2021, she became a founding partner at venture capital firm Pebblebed.<h2 id="458442af-c30e-4306-8317-192aa0b8648d">Trevor Blackwell</h2>Blackwell left the company in 2017. According to his LinkedIn profile, he is a roboticist and was a partner at Y Combinator until 2020. Firstly, there are your regular documents like PAN and Aadhar card. Also, keep all details of the bank account where you want your IT refund to be credited handy. It is advisable to also have your Annual Income Statement (AIS) ready, so that you can cross-verify and match all your income details while filing your ITR. This gives you a complete overview of your total earned salary and the TDS deducted. This is issued by the employer to their employee. Additionally, along with Form-16, you should also ask your previous employer to give you a statement of full and final settlement. Generally, form-16 has two parts-A and B. While part-A carries details of the employer and a summary of salary payments made during the year, part-B is where you will find your salary breakup, and the deductions made from your salary, which include payment of life and health insurance premiums, contributions made to pension fund and more.<h2>Keep rent, travel proofs handy while filing ITR </h2>In case you are claiming tax deductions under HRA (house rent agreement), you will need a notarized rent agreement as proof of rent payment. Generally, rent agreements are made for a period of 11 months. Next, in case you have availed LTA (leave travel allowance), you should have all travel-related bills handy. You can claim tax exemption on LTA in two ways. One, you can claim exemption on the amount you've actually spent on your travel. Otherwise, within a 4-year time block (2022-2025), you can claim exemption for a maximum of 2 vacations. This is applicable only for domestic travel, and you can claim exemption for your immediate family members as well. But remember, LTA will not cover your accommodation or food-related expenses incurred on the trip. Up next are your investment proofs and capital gains statement. If you've paid premiums for a life or health insurance policy during the year, or invested in ELSS (equity-linked savings scheme), you need to furnish proofs for the same. You can claim an annual <keyword id="20265008" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="tax-deduction" source="keywords">tax deduction</keyword> of up to Rs 25,000 on premiums paid towards your health insurance policy. In fact, your insurance company will send you a certificate to that effect as well. As for ELSS, you can claim an annual tax deduction of up to Rs 1,50,000. But you cannot withdraw money from ELSS before 3 years, so invest carefully. <h2> Pay attention to capital gains while filing ITR</h2>If you've redeemed, or sold some of your investments (property, stocks, mutual funds) during the year and earned profit on them, you'll have to pay <keyword id="20301441" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="capital-gains-tax" source="keywords">capital gains tax</keyword>. But this is applicable only if your capital gains are over Rs 1,00,000 in one financial year. If you sold a share/mutual fund unit within 12 months of buying it, you'll have to pay a 15% short term capital gains tax. And if you redeemed an investment after 12 months, you'll be charged 10% long term capital gains tax. That is why it would help to have a capital gains statement handy, which will help you understand how much tax you have to pay.

ITR filing: Documents you need to file your income tax return

But in the knockout games though, teams batting second will have to face at least 10 overs in order to decide on a result as per the Duckworth-Lewis method. India vs England: Major talking points ahead of the crucial T20 World Cup semi-final clash

The bankruptcy filing paused their lawyers from enforcing the judgment against them, which formed nearly all of his $152 million in debt. I have tested the last two generations of Reno Pro devices. Reno 11 Pro seems like the culmination of the progress I have seen over the last two years. So is this the ultimate Reno device? And how does it stand against the heavy weights in its category like <a href="https://www.businessinsider.in/tech/news/redmi-note-13-pro-review-a-new-mid-range-fighter/articleshow/106617001.cms">Redmi Note 13 Pro+</a>. The Reno 11 Pro sports a glass back and front, with particularly the ‘Pearl White’ color standing out. I am usually not a big fan of patterns on a smartphone but the back on Reno 11 Pro has been executed beautifully. It has a matte finish to it which also encourages you to let go of a case. However, be careful since you do not want to drop it. Oppo has tried to compensate by giving it a silver finish with toothed edges. And yet I have not been able to wrap my head around it. Beyond that the design carries familiar elements. We have the volume rockers and power button on the right edge, and yes they are tactile. At the bottom we have the Type-C charging port next to the SIM card slot and speaker grill. The smartphone supports 2 micro SIMs. On top we have the rejuvenated IR blaster here, a feature which has made a comeback in a big way across devices. And yes it's more useful than you can imagine. The Reno 11 Pro flaunts a 6.7-inch AMOLED display boasting a screen resolution of 2412X1080 Pixels, showcasing a brightness reaching up to 950 Nits. The peak brightness is also similar to last year's Pro variant. Whether you're engrossed in content or merely glancing at the always-on screen, this luminous panel offers ease on the eyes, even under direct sunlight. With crisp details, natural colors, and a curved display that enhances the overall viewing experience, it's a standout feature. However, Redmi Note 13 Pro+ at a lower price offers a brighter display with 1800 nits of peak brightness. And you will notice the difference between the two devices especially while watching content and at bright outdoors. Oppo's implementation of the always-on display deserves praise. Its customisable and the wallpaper options are also commendable. However, as with curved screens, occasional mistouches remain a slight inconvenience. Despite its excellent execution, inadvertent touches leading to accidental app openings or difficulties with the volume slider in portrait mode are minor trade-offs. The display seamlessly integrates an optical fingerprint scanner. While it takes a split second to unlock the device, its consistent performance without misses is commendable. The screen truly shines in the viewing experience, especially when coupled with the 120Hz refresh rate. The standard 120Hz refresh rate offers a smoother experience for gaming and content consumption, flawlessly delivered by the Reno 11 Pro. While switching between the standard 60Hz and 120Hz may cause a slight lag, the superior visual experience compensates for it. The bright, color-accurate panel is a delight, supporting HDR 10 &amp; 10+ for HD content on OTT apps like Disney Plus Hotstar. For instance, watching What If Season 3 on the platform provides a diverse range to evaluate the display quality, from bright outdoor scenes to dark indoors. Fortunately, the Reno 11 Pro excels in these tests. The display maintains accuracy throughout, showcasing deep blacks and minimal light leakage. For content consumption enthusiasts, the Reno 11 Pro stands out. That being said, the auto brightness feature here is out of sync while watching content. With the phone really dimming down when it's not necessary. So I preferred keeping the auto brightness off throughout the day. Oppo has also prioritized sound quality, evident in the stereo speaker setup that delivers loud audio output with retained detail even at lower volume levels, albeit with potential detail loss in super volume mode. Software The Oppo Reno 11 Pro arrives with Android 14 out of the box, showcasing the ColorOS 14 skin. While the overall user experience of the skin remains consistent, there are some classic features I should highlight. Commencing with the general features, we see a considerable amount of pre-installed bloatware which stands out. Fortunately we have the ability to uninstall these apps. Notably, there are no questionable app recommendations, which is a positive aspect of the software. Visually, Color OS 14 retains its strengths with vibrant colors and crisp text, offering a user-friendly and easily navigable interface. The array of customization options is extensive, enabling personalization of various screen elements, from widgets to icon designs and color schemes. However, integrating elements from stock Android 14, especially within the drop-down menu, akin to the larger tiles seen in default Android skins like the Pixel 8, could enhance the overall user experience, in my opinion. Setting that observation aside, Oppo promotes ColorOS 14 as a more intelligent operating system with some standout features. Firstly, auto pixelation is introduced, automatically blurring people in screenshots to safeguard their identity. While it may miss some instances when operating automatically, manual blur options directly from the screenshot menu are welcomed. Another feature, Multi Screen Connect, facilitates connectivity between Oppo products like the Pad Air and enables Oppo smartphone connection with PCs. This feature is particularly useful for presentations, although the connection process might take some time. The device also supports fast pairing with Oppo Buds, a feature increasingly common in modern devices, akin to OnePlus devices and Nord Buds using OnePlus Fast Pair. The meeting assistant stands out as one of the most useful features, allowing the device to switch to a mobile network for a stable internet connection during video calls. Tested and proven practical, this feature comes in handy, especially if your router is distant from your seating area. Oppo emphasizes the future-proof nature of their devices, evident in their promised update cycles. The brand commits to offering three years of Android updates and four years of security updates for the Reno 11, ensuring users remain updated and secure over an extended period. Performance Oppo Reno 11 Pro runs on Mediatek Dimensity 8200, a respectable but older chipset. Oppo might get some flack for this decision, however I don’t see any blanket reason to complain. It’s efficient, enables SuperVOOC charging and works in tandem with the camera. Before I explain my experience let's get into some numbers. I ran a Geekbench 6 CPU test on the Oppo Reno 11 Pro. The single-core score for the device is 1220 and the multi-core score is 3516. These are respectable numbers and should satisfy both power hungry and efficient users. This is higher than the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ which scored 1121 and 2630 respectively. As anticipated, the Reno 11 Pro delivers consistent and dependable performance, thanks to the comprehensive package Oppo offers with this device. It boasts 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM, more than adequate for most users. While it allows for internal RAM expansion using spare storage, I've yet to encounter a scenario where this feature is necessary. The CBDT has not amended Rule 12 of the Income-tax Rules, 1962, which outlines the criteria for the applicability of ITR forms to different classes of taxpayers and method of furnishing returns. The ITR 1 is for individuals with income up to ₹50 lakh from salary, pension, one house property, interest, and agricultural income (up to ₹5000). ITR 4 is for individuals and Hindu Undivided Families with income up to ₹50 lakh, who use the presumptive income scheme for businesses or professions, and additionally have income from salary, pension, one house property, and other sources (excluding lottery and horse races). Tax payers must opt out to choose old regime The Finance Act 2023 has revised section 115BAC, making it the default tax structure for individuals. If an assessee prefers not to follow the new tax system, they must explicitly opt out and choose to be taxed under the previous regime. Section 115BAC(6) provides an avenue for eligible assesses to opt out of the new tax scheme. To exercise this choice, individuals with income (excluding earnings from a business or profession) need to specify their preferred tax structure in the income tax return for the relevant assessment period. A taxpayer earning from a business or profession also has the choice to exit the new tax structure and revert to the previous tax system for a specific year. To exercise this choice, they must utilise Form No. 10-IEA on or before the filing deadline specified under Section 139(1) for submitting the income tax return. “In simple words, an assessee filing ITR 1 is only required to indicate his choice of tax regime in the return of income. New column added to claim deduction under Section 80CCH The Finance Act 2023 added a new Section 80CCH, which states that individuals enrolled in the Agnipath Scheme and subscribing to the Agniveer Corpus Fund on or after 01-11-2022 will be eligible for a tax deduction for the total amount deposited in the Agniveer Corpus Fund. “ITR forms 1 and 4 have been amended to include a column to furnish the amount eligible for deduction under section 80CCH,” says Wadhwa. "Receipts in Cash" column added to ITR-4 to claim enhanced turnover limit The Finance Act, 2023 has enhanced the turnover threshold limit from ₹2 crores to ₹3 crores for opting for the presumptive taxation scheme under Section 44AD if the receipts in cash do not exceed 5% of the total turnover or gross receipts for the previous year. It is also provided that the meaning of cash would include the cheque or a bank draft, which is not an account payee. Similarly, Section 44ADA was amended to enhance the threshold limit of gross receipts from ₹50 lakhs to ₹75 lakhs, if the receipts in cash do not exceed 5% of the total gross receipts for the previous year. “To give effect to the above amendments, the CBDT has amended ITR-4 to include a new column of "receipts in cash” for disclosing cash turnover or cash gross receipt,” says Wadhwa. I needed my first spine surgery when I was just 2, and I was fragile as a kid from the metal rods in my back. There was no football or roughhousing for me.I was a kid with restrictions, but I just wanted to be a kid. So, I pushed the limits. My mother never coddled me, and I'm grateful for that. She never let me use <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/disabled-dating-app-founder-discrimination-bumble-2023-12">my disability</a> as an excuse.At first, I went to a school for disabled kids, but I wasn't being academically challenged. I needed to be on a ventilator occasionally, especially at night time. Despite that, I kept up with school and worked full time.I graduated from my <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/masters-degree-scam-higher-education-millennials-genz-student-loan-debt-2022-5">master's program</a> while I was in the intensive care unit. I live-streamed the ceremony and marched across the nurses' station to get my degree. It wasn't the ceremony I had envisioned, and I missed my classmates, but I was still so proud.<h2 id="91230cb9-edd7-4ce3-a816-3dbeb24ec169">I want others to handle adversity, not let it handle them</h2>After that, I knew I could do anything. I started having trouble drawing a full breath. I even wet myself a few times. Doctors told me it happened because my oxygen levels had dipped dangerously low.That's when they knew I needed to be on the ventilator full-time. I knew they were right, and I wasn't going to let that hold me back. I made the decision to be happy, and keep living my life. I ordered a cart from Amazon and pushed <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/what-its-like-to-be-on-a-ventilator-with-coronavirus-2020-4">my ventilator</a> around with me wherever I went — including at my job as a manager for an entertainment company.I want other people to know that adversity doesn't have to be your destiny. We're all going to encounter adversity, and you're in control of how you respond to it.Recently, I was checking out at Walmart, and the lady at the cash register told me her 2-year-old <a target="_blank" class="" href="https://www.businessinsider.com/babysitting-grandchildren-rewarding-games-spontaneous-2024-7">granddaughter</a> had just been put on a ventilator. She hugged me and told me I gave her hope; if her grandbaby has to be on a ventilator for life, she can still have a full, meaningful life. So half the job is done there, but it remains to be seen how true that turns out in real life and in the long run. The back is smooth with a damp matte finish. That makes it slightly slippery, so slapping a case is highly recommended. The good part is that it's highly scratch and smudge resistant. It measures 163.1 mm × 74.1mm × 8.53 mm and weighs 205 g, which is ideal for a 6.7-inch phone. It has Gorilla Glass Victus protection on the display and Gorilla Glass 5 on the back. It gives you many options to play with, and my favorite is the X-Pan mode and the filters you get pre-installed. <div type="image" title="X pan mode" msid="97702252" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured in the X pan mode&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The color templated in both makes it very easy for a layperson to click cinematic shots with a very peculiar color correction that usually pros get to create. <div type="image" title="50mp natural light" msid="97702288" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured using the 50MP sensor&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Note that you must turn on the hi-res option from the top of the viewfinder to use the 50MP sensor for photos. Turning it on automatically blocks zooming and auto macro features. But the results are pretty impressive. <div type="image" title="Portrait in artificial light" msid="97702267" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Portrait shot captured under artificial light&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> Autofocus and shutter are very snappy in both still and videos. The portrait mode is also impressive in good lighting conditions, and what's better is that you can adjust the blurring effect while clicking a photo. <div type="image" title="Day light portrait_" msid="97702183" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured in day light using portrait mode&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The daylight shots look very balanced in terms of colors, dynamic range, and white balance. As long as you have any amount of natural light, the results look very promising, and the shutter speed is also very quick. It's the same even for well-lit indoors, but as you move to darker situations, the colors start looking artificially blown, and the details are blown away. <div type="image" title="Low light portrait_" msid="97702200" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured in low light conditions using portrait mode&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> In low light, there's a slight noise visible while using the night mode, but strangely the pictures look better in normal mode. I liked low-light photos, but they were not as good as flagships from Samsung and Pixel. <div type="image" title="Low light shot from primary" msid="97702311" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;Image captured in low light conditions using the primary sensor&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> I am highly impressed with the video capability. It can shoot 8K at 24fps and 4K at 60fps (which I prefer). The videos look great, especially of well-lit scenes, and they're at par with other flagships. The stabilization is very impressive, also the audio recording. It's safe to say that it can be a reliable companion for a content creator or a vlogger. Front camera is a 16MP shooter, and it doesn't seem like a significant upgrade over last year. You can get good-looking selfies in daylight and well-lit situations but low light shows prominent noise and lack in detail. Overall, I'm impressed with OnePlus 11's camera performance. I can't call it as good as the Pixel 7 Pro or the iPhone 14 Pro, but it's certainly up there with them based on what I've seen so far. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Software" comment="subhead" text="Software">Software</cmsannotation> The software part of the OnePlus 11 is what I am not a huge fan of. That's also because I am spoiled with the look and feel of good old OxygenOS over the years, as I've used almost every OnePlus phone till the OnePlus 8-series. <div type="image" title="Software" msid="97702335" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The OnePlus 11 runs on Android 13 with OxygenOS 13 on top&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> The OxygenOS 13 is based on Android 13, and it's no secret that it's a tweaked version of Oppo's ColorOS 13. While I prefer the older OxygenOS, I was surprised by the fluidity of this one and the number of smart features on this one. You get many customization options and features like split screen, flexible windows, quick return, and more. All of this makes it a good productivity tool. It will also come with the OxygenOS 13 and a promise that it will receive at least four years of major software updates and at least five years of security updates. My major concerns were regarding the optimizations. But so far, the software has felt stable, and I have not faced any issues. Still, I appreciate the older feel more than this colorful version, with a revamped user experience. I am supremely impressed with the haptics, though, as it feels very natural and solves the purpose of giving precise feedback to create visual and physical synergy in usage. So if you are okay with adapting to the new interface and are open to exploring more customizations, this version of the OS will not bother you much. It's quite swift and efficient in what it does. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Performance and battery" comment="subhead" text="Performance and battery">Performance and battery</cmsannotation> The OnePlus 11 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC (system on chip), and I have the 16GB RAM and 256GB of UFS4.0 storage variant. It does pretty well in a 9-5 setting where one would start the day by scrolling social media, reading news, listening to music or watching something on the way to the office/college, making phone calls, and checking emails—then ending the day with some Call of Duty: Mobile action. <div type="image" title="DSC06577" msid="97702353" hostid="261" caption="&amp;lt;p&amp;gt;The OnePlus 11 5G&amp;lt;/p&amp;gt;"></div> It's snappy and breathes and behaves the same way during all tasks throughout the day. At least, it has been that way for me, and I have no complaints. I am a smartphone gamer and have an hour-long Call of Duty: Mobile session every day. While the phone and its battery hold up well with the demanding graphics and gameplay, I still wouldn't call it the best gaming phone available. My go-to phone for gaming is the iPhone 14 Pro, and despite a bigger display, it did not intrigue me enough to want to switch to the OnePlus 11. In fact, the iPhone 14 still feels much smoother, or my eyes are accustomed to that experience. But if only Androids are counted, this one stands among the league's top for sure. Heating has been on the higher side while gaming and using the camera. It never got unusually hot, but temperatures are lower in winter; it was still 42-43 degrees Celcius hot at 23-24 degree Celcius room temperature. Multitasking is pretty smooth; I could open and use up to 8-9 apps simultaneously, and OnePlus claims the 16GB RAM can keep up to 44 applications active in the background. The OnePlus 11 has a 5,000mAh battery that supports up to 100W SUPERVOOC charging that fuels it up in around 30 minutes. The screen on time turned out to be 7.5 hours on moderate usage, and on heavy days, I managed to kill it in 5.5 hours. But note that I played COD: Mobile for over 2.5 hours and used Instagram and YouTube shamelessly for over five hours on that day. You get the 100W charging brick and cable in the box, which is slowly vanishing from an increasing number of phones. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Verdict" comment="subhead" text="Verdict">Verdict</cmsannotation> OnePlus 11 lands among the few available phones with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and doesn't disappoint. It has a great set of hardware, a good design, a reliable camera, and better battery life - making it a value for money buy at ₹56,999 for the 8GB variant and ₹61,999 for the 16GB variant. For those looking for a phone that does everything fast, has a great display, and can run anything you throw at it, the OnePlus 11 is a perfect option for its price. But if you are willing to spend more, you should wait for the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phones. <cmsannotation type="cmsannotation" annotationid="Reviewer's opinion" comment="subhead" text="Reviewer's opinion">Reviewer's opinion</cmsannotation> An enthusiast-catering brand like OnePlus is playing it very safe for its stature. There's nothing so extraordinary that makes people talk about it. Should you buy it? Yes. But my disappointment is a bit personal as I expect the company to develop at least one element of the phone with a "wow" factor. What makes a good phone great? A little bit of courage to do things differently. I can only be hopeful to see something wow-worthy when it comes up with its foldable. But if we keep aside the phones, its new OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is super-impressive. We'll be posting a detailed review of the latest OnePlus TWS soon.
