The company is an exception among a large pool of internet companies, which have tried to get listed — EaseMyTrip has bootstrapped its way to the public markets. The online travel agency (OTA) offers a range of products and services for end-to-end travel solutions, from airline tickets to rail tickets and bus tickets to taxis, holiday packages, hotels, and much more. The online penetration, defined as a share of bookings done online through websites of the service providers or through online travel agencies (OTAs), of the Indian travel industry accounted for 56-58% in FY20. The analysts further expect the share of online penetration to 67-68% in FY23, supported by growth in online transactions due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Justified valuations The ICICI Direct report highlighted that taking cognisance of the huge growth opportunities for EaseMyTrip and a lean cost of operations that would aid the flow of profitability to the bottom line — “it is an attractive issue.” According to Choice Broking, the company is available at a P/E of 65.3x on FY20 numbers — “which is reasonably priced”. Hiring of 400 employees will take the workforce to a total of 700 employees, a three-fold increase from 240 employees in October 2021. The hiring will be done in technology and product teams and across various destinations in India — Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Punjab. Earlier this quarter, the travel aggregator had increased its workforce by 60%. Large number of hiring was dedicated towards its plans to scale up its hotel category business. When asked about the reason behind this massive hiring spree, Ayyappan Rajagopal, chief executive officer (CEO) of Cleartrip said, “Cleartrip is actively hiring for their upcoming tech park in Chennai where all the technology-related backhand work will be handled so that we can reach the target of 400 employees by the end of this year.” He further said, “By hiring top talent from the industry across levels, we are infusing fresh energy and ideas into our teams, setting us up for success. As we move forward in 2022, one of our key goals this year is to bring more offerings, scale up our existing verticals to bring more digitally-enabled travel experiences for our customers to boost their confidence while travelling during what has been a difficult time.” The announcement comes after Cleartrip’s acquisition by the Flipkart Group, part of US-based Walmart Group, which has accelerated the brand’s growth strategy to make an end-to-end travel app for the company by the end of 2022. Online travel booking portal Cleartrip to increase its workforce by 400 by the end of this year

It includes Rs 3,679 crore in subsidies and demand incentives for e-2Ws, e-3Ws, e-ambulances, e-trucks, and other emerging electric vehicles. It is expected to support the deployment of 24.79 lakh e-2Ws, 3.16 lakh e-3Ws, and 14,028 e-buses, providing a significant push to India's EV ecosystem. A critical aspect of the scheme is the introduction of e-vouchers for EV buyers. At the time of purchase, an Aadhaar-authenticated e-voucher will be generated, which will enable buyers to avail of demand incentives. Additionally, the scheme allocates Rs 500 crore for the deployment of e-ambulances, marking a new initiative to integrate electric vehicles into essential public services. Another Rs 4,391 crore has been earmarked for the procurement of 14,028 e-buses, with a demand aggregation process led by CESL in nine major cities, including Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Intercity and interstate e-buses will also be supported in consultation with states. Furthermore, Rs 500 crore has been set aside to incentivize the adoption of e-trucks, a critical move given that trucks are one of the largest contributors to air pollution. The company said that the total payout of the interim dividend is ₹10.86 crore. The said dividend on equity shares will be credited to the members as per the records of the depositories as beneficial owners of the equity shares, as on November 22. The interim dividend will be paid on or before December 10, 2021. EaseMyTrip has announced its first dividend in April 2021 almost a month after its listing on the stock exchange. The latest development comes soon after EaseMyTrip announced its financial result for July to September quarter of 2021. The company reported over 330% year-on-year increase in its consolidated net profit.
