New <keyword id="66" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi">Delhi</keyword>, The <keyword id="6354952" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-Government">Delhi government</keyword> on Wednesday allowed all <keyword id="37180" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="schools">schools</keyword> in the national capital to reopen for Classes 10 and 12 from January 18 in view of board exams, according to officials of the <keyword id="6389012" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="directorate-of-education">Directorate of Education</keyword>. <keyword id="3216" type="ORGANIZATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="students">Students</keyword> will attend schools only with consent of parents and physical attendance is not compulsory, while schools will follow all COVID-19 guidelines, they said. <br /><br />"In order to conduct activities pertaining to pre-board preparations and practical work, the head of government, aided and unaided recognised schools may call students of Classes 10 and 12 only to school with effect from January 18, 2021," a senior official at the Directorate of Education (DoE) said. <br /><br />However, a child should be called to school only with the consent of parents and following standard operating procedures, he said. <br /><br />Records of children coming to school will be maintained and the same should not be used for attendance purposes as sending a child to school is completely optional for parents, the official said. <br /><br />Schools in Delhi have been shut since March last year to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. While several states had partially reopened schools after October, this will be the first time in 10 months that students in the national capital will return to their campuses. Delhi Chief Minister <keyword id="260213" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="Arvind-Kejriwal">Arvind Kejriwal</keyword> said it was an emotional moment to see children back in school. <br /><br /> "Seeing kids back in school after a long time, is an emotional moment for me. Schools have reopened today after leaving behind a very difficult time. We are hopeful that soon, everything will be normal and all students will be able to come to schools and meet their teachers and friends," he tweeted. <br /><br /> Pragati Diwan, an excited class 12 student said, "it was optional to come but I was sure I have to. It is the last year of my school life and I haven't come to school even one day," said Pragati Diwan, an excited class 12 student. <br /><br /> For another student at Geeta Bal Bharti School, the feeling was similar to that of attending first day at school. <br /><br /> "It does not feel like I am coming to school after ten months, it feels like I have come to school for the first time. I am looking forward to the preparations for <keyword id="32862" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="board-exams">board exams</keyword> here," she said. <br /><br /> Prince, a student at Delhi government school, said, "The online classes were a great help for theoretical subjects but the practical subjects were a challenge. The teachers are also overjoyed to meet students, saying it has filled an empty space in their life," Sisodia said<br /><br /> Calling students in different slots, shorter school hours, frequent sanitisation and staggered entry and exit are among the plans of various schools in the national capital as they gear to welcome class 10 and 12 students on Monday for the first time in the academic session. <br /><br /> The schools are reopening in Delhi after 10 months, after being shut last year to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus, and they have been instructed by the <keyword id="6389012" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="directorate-of-education">Directorate of Education</keyword> (DoE) to follow all COVID-19 guidelines when classroom studies resume. <br /><br /> The Delhi government has allowed all schools outside COVID-19 containment zones here to reopen for classes 10 and 12 from January 18 in view of board exams. Schools reopen in Delhi: Students welcomed with balloons, flowers, and sanitizers as they return after ten months

<keyword id="6358777" type="LOCATION" weightage="20" keywordseo="New-Delhi">New Delhi</keyword>, <keyword id="44426" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="admission">Admission</keyword> for nursery students in the national capital will begin from February 18, <keyword id="6354952" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="Delhi-Government">Delhi government</keyword> said on Wednesday.<br /><br />The <keyword id="6389012" type="COMPANY" weightage="20" keywordseo="directorate-of-education">Directorate of Education</keyword> (DoE) of the Delhi Government issued a schedule regarding this. <br /><br />According to the DoE, admission in private schools this year will be conducted via online mode. However, the admission process in the government-run schools would be held through both online and offline modes.<br /><br />As per the schedule, the <keyword id="465346" type="PERSON" weightage="20" keywordseo="registration-process">registration process</keyword> for the nursery admissions will start from February 18, and the last date of filling the forms is March 4.<br /><br />As per the DoE, the first list of admitted students will be released on March 20 and the second list will be on March 25. The university will be launched in 2021. <br /><br />The idea for the university started three years ago, when a few IIT alums – today top business leaders – got together and thought of way to encourage India’s booming tech-driven ecosystem, say its founders. <br /><br />“We felt the need to reimagine technology education the way it’s being delivered today and create something that’s truly world-class and cutting edge, and reimagine teaching curriculum research,” Vineet Gupta, Managing Director, Jamboree Education Pvt. Ltd. and Founder and Trustee, Ashoka University, who is one of the investors and founding member of Plaksha, told Business Insider.<br /><br />The university will be built upon 50 acres of land near Chandigarh International Airport, near Indian School of Business, Mohali. In its first phase, the investors have planned to invest ₹3,500 million in capital for a 1,000 student campus. In 10 years, the founders aim for it to become a 8,000-students campus.<br /><br />“We met the Punjab and Haryana government, where the Punjab government was excited about the university. When the idea started it was five-six of us and now we have reached 40, the number will keep growing as it’s a combined philanthropic effort,” said Gupta. <br /><br />The idea behind the university is bringing technological solutions for society, Gupta said, adding they hope its ideas will help solve India’s challenges in areas ranging from food security, environment sustainability, health, education or innovation in manufacturing. <br /><br />“Technology has a huge role to play in advancing solutions for these problems.While the approach of the university will be to look at cutting edge technology in sectors like Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, robotics among other, we would like the university to sensitize and deal with solutions focused on India,” said Gupta.<br /><br />The importance of technology and innovation education has been a big theme at almost every other startup meet or discussion at Indian events focused on entrepreneurship.<br /><br />The setting up of this university will lead to more students having an option to learn about entrepreneurship and technology before actually being a part of the game.<br /><br />“Education is a big multiplier…most of us got good education at IITs almost for free and what we are today is because of that quality education. Top CEOs from India are raising funds to set up a technology university

Washington, Nov 22 () US President-elect Joe Biden has appointed Indian-American Mala Adiga as the policy director of his wife Jill, choosing an experienced education policy hand as the incoming First Lady focuses on education and plans to continue teaching community college classes. <p> Adiga was a senior adviser to Jill and senior policy adviser for Biden's 2020 campaign. She previously worked for the Biden Foundation as director for higher education and military families. </p><p> Before that, during Obama's administration, she was deputy assistant secretary of state for academic programmes at the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and worked in the State Department's Office of Global Women's Issues as chief of staff and senior adviser to the ambassador-at-large. </p><p> "Future First Lady Jill Biden's Policy Director will be Mala Adiga, who served as her senior advisor and a senior policy advisor on the Biden-Harris campaign. Adiga will work for a First Lady who has said she intends to prioritise education and military families," CNN report on Friday. </p><p> Biden on Friday announced another round of White House staff positions to be filled by longtime aides to the Bidens. </p><p> Louisa Terrell, who served as Executive Director for the Biden Foundation, will become Director of the White House Office of Legislative Affairs. She comes to the position with an experience that includes acting as the Special Assistant to the President for Legislative Affairs in the Obama-Biden administration, the report said. </p><p> Carlos Elizondo, who was social secretary for Jill Biden during the Obama administration, will be White House Social Secretary. Ambassador Cathy Russell will assume the role of Director of the White House Office of Presidential Personnel, it said. </p><p> Adiga served as Director for Human Rights in the National Security Staff's (NSS) Multilateral and Human Rights Directorate. Prior to joining NSS, she was an attorney at the Department of Justice, where she served as Counsel to the Associate Attorney General. </p><p> Before entering government service, Adiga volunteered and then worked for the Obama presidential campaign for nearly two years, according to her biography on the US State Department website. </p><p> She earned her J D from the University of Chicago Law School and her M P H from the University of Minnesota. San Francisco, Nov 14 (IANS) Google has announced that it will no longer support the Expeditions app which offered educational VR tours and plans to remove it from iOS and Android app stores after June 30, 2021.<br /><br />According to the company's director of education program management Jennifer Holland, many of the app's virtual tours will migrate to Google's Arts and Culture app. She framed the decision as a response to Covid-19 pandemic, which has pushed many workplaces and schools online around the world.<br /><br />"As schools around the world reimagine education from the ground up for a hybrid world, we've also been thinking deeply about how to adjust our tools to meet the moment and simultaneously build for the future," Holland said.<br /><br />Google Arts and Culture is already home to plenty of other neat VR and AR experiences as well as museum collections from more than 2,000 cultural institutions, so it seems a natural fit for Expeditions' repertoire.<br /><br />Google launched Expeditions for its Cardboard VR viewer in 2015, and classrooms could get boxes of Cardboard headsets for "virtual field trips."<br /><br />--IANS<br /><br />wh/sdr/

The <keyword id="119108" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="up-board" source="Orion">UP Board</keyword> examination for <keyword id="6405739" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="classes" source="Orion">Classes</keyword> 10 and 12 exams will be held in an offline mode from March 24 to April 12.<br /><br />The Board officials have announced the detailed timetable of both high school and intermediate <keyword id="32862" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="board-exams" source="Orion">board exams</keyword> in Prayagraj.<br /><br />"As per the timetable, the exams for high school would be completed in 12 working days while that of intermediate would be completed in 15 working days," said UP Board chairman and director (secondary education) <keyword id="1080922" type="General" weightage="20" keywordseo="Vinay-Kumar-Pandey" source="Orion">Vinay Kumar Pandey</keyword>.<br /><br />Pandey further said that the examination schedule has also been made available on the official website of the board.<br /><br />Last year, the Board had not conducted the high school and intermediate examination owing to the pandemic.
